The final stretch of our Trans-Siberian journey takes us to Yekaterinberg and Kungur. Yekaterinberg, also known as Sverdlovsk, was the home to the killing of the last emperor of Russia. After a quick visit to the church and Europe-Asia monument, we continue on to Kungur to visit the Ice Cave.

Одна из крупнейших карстовых пещер в Европейской части России, седьмая в мире гипсовая пещера по протяжённости. Протяжённость пещеры по данным на 2021 год составляет около 8153 м, из них около 2 километров оборудовано для посещений туристами. Температура воздуха в центре пещеры от +5 °C до −2 °C, относительная влажность в центре пещеры — 100 %. Кунгурская пещера содержит 58 гротов, 70 озёр, 146 т. н. «органных труб» (самая высокая — в Эфирном гроте, 22 м) — высоких шахт, доходящих почти до поверхности. Возраст пещеры оценивается в 10-12 тысяч лет.

Добро пожаловать в путешествие по старейшей экскурсионной пещере России — Кунгурской ледяной пещере! Мы отправляемся в Пермский край!
Ежегодно десятки тысяч людей приезжают посмотреть на её главное богатство — удивительной красоты сезонные и многолетние льды. В разные годы в подземных лабиринтах бывали выдающиеся ученые, члены царской семьи, государственные и политические деятели.
О первых проводниках, водивших экскурсантов по Кунгурской пещере, известно с середины ХIХ века. Чтобы ее осмотреть, обычно обращались к жителям села Банное (ныне Филипповки).
Первым экскурсоводом, занимающимся этой деятельностью профессионально, стал Александр Тимофеевич Хлебников. В 1914 г. он арендовал Ледяную пещеру у крестьянской общины, проводил работы по благоустройству и превратил ее в крупный экскурсионный объект.
Общая длина ходов пещеры составляет 5600 метров. В подземном мире насчитывается 48 гротов, 70 подземных озер и 146 «органных труб».
В пещере действуют два основных маршрута. Один путь проходит через гроты Колизей и Геологов, другой через гроты Эфирный и Дружбы народов. Среднее время прохождения каждого маршрута составляет примерно 1,5 часа.

Лучшим временем для посещения пещеры считается февраль, март и апрель. В мае подземное ледяное убранство начинает таять.
