The remainder of the country is primarily Francophone. , Most Cameroonians speak either French or English and a third indigenous language. Cameroon is home to 230 languages, with Fulfulde being the lingua franca in the north, and Ewondo in much of the Centre, South, and East provinces.

Road Trip on Ekona, Muyuka, Kumba Highway Cameroon 2022????????

This video is a road trip log on the most dangerous highway during the Anglophone Crises in Cameroon
Kumba is a trade centre for cocoa, palm oil and rubber, and has a timber industry as well. Kumba is a local road junction, making it the main commercial town in Anglophone Cameroon. It has two main markets, Kumba Market and Fiango Market, and several smaller markets created by farmers who bring food directly from their farms, such as the Mbonge Road market, Three Corners market, and the Back Market. Due to the high level of activity in the city, it has attracted the Nigerian traders, particularly the Igbo and Yoruba who own more than 60% of the shops in the town, according to a 2011 survey. Trade is controlled by the Kumba City Council, it provides the majority of money for the council. Most of the people in Kumba are farmers and therefore Kumba has become a major trade centre to its neighbouring towns and cities and also to some neighbouring countries including Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Chad.

Driving in The beautiful city of Bamenda, Cameroon, Northwest region 2022

#bamenda #cameroon #2022

Bamenda, also known as Abakwa and Mankon Town, is a city in northwestern Cameroon and capital of the Northwest Region. The city has a population of about 2 million people and is located 366 kilometres (227 mi) north-west of the Cameroonian capital, Yaoundé. Bamenda is known for its cool climate and scenic hilly location.

Colonial era
The origins of the city are related to the settlement of the Tikar people who culturally forged and maintained relations with the Kingdom of Bamum in the 1700s.

In 1884, the city was colonized by Germany until 1916 when it became a colony administered by Great Britain and France.

In 1919, the administration of Northwest Region and thus the city of Bamenda became only British. In 1961, the region joined the Cameroon.

Metropolitan area

The city is made up of 3 villages; Bamendakwe, Mankon and Nkwen classified as Bamenda I II and III sub-divisions respectively for administrative reasons. However, it is surrounded by other suburban areas and villages like Bambui, Akum, Bafut, Bali, Chombah and Mbatu.

These suburban areas and villages are fast growing and sometimes considered as part of Bamenda.

Economy

The main industries are the processing of agricultural produce such as coffee, elementary food processing, handicraft, cottage industry, education (schools), tourism/hospitality, construction works and transport.

The local museum and shops display a wide variety of local baskets, beads, woodcarvings and bronze statues.

Transports
The city of Bamenda has road links to Yaoundé and Douala, as well as an airport, Bamenda Airport, located in Bafut subdivision.

A Documentary Video about Bamenda City Cameroon vol2

Bamenda, also known as Abakwa, sprawling over the north-western plateau of Cameroon, is the capital city of the North West Region. It is situated 366 km north-west of the administrative capital of Cameroon, Yaounde, and about 450 km of Cameroon's economic capital, Douala. Known for its cool climate and scenic hilly location, Bamenda is all about a city and a people whose commitment to self-reliance sets the pace in individual and collective development. Because of a common and shared history, hospitality is a legendary asset of the people of Bamenda, principally constituted today of the seven villages of Mankon, Nkwen, Mendankwe, Mbatu, Chomba, Njah and Nsongwa -- a veritable socio-cultural melting pot.

Typical Safe Travel in Cameroon

Gives a whole new meaning to the expression to hitch a lift. The strange thing is I think he might not have been wearing his seatbelt. :P Before I started recording our driver nearly took the poor guy's legs off. Must have been about 8 already riding inside the taxi...

A View of Tiko town Cameroon ????????

This video is about a ride through the town of Tiko. Tiko is a road side town linking the litoral region of Cameroon to the south west region. Tiko, originally called ‘Keka’ by the Bakweris, is a town and important port in the southwest region of Cameroon. The settlement grew as a market town for Duala fishermen, Bakweri farmers and hunters from Molyko, Bwenga, Bulu and Bokova.

Kumbo Ruby Jubilee Celebration Invitation

Invitation! Be part of the peak Celebration

Juju in Cameroon

This was a cry die for my neighbor, Pa Matheias. Every afternoon, I'd come home from a long day of teaching, he'd say with big smile say, Ahhhh! Mr. Steve! You are back?

Together we would then drink palm wine (or a shot or two of moonshine) outside.

He was a nice man. I adored him greatly.

When dying, I was there with him. Checking his pulse, applying cool compresses.

I was determined for him to live. The whole village turned up to see him go.

Mr. Steve, let him go. It's time. He's ready.

One of the hardest lessons I learned in Cameroon.

There’s also the occasional lifestyle vlog.
