As some of you may know I’ve just spent a quarter of a year in the Scandinavian country of Finland for a work assignment. Slow travel is different than what I’m used too but I was really happy to get back to exploring and excited to show you guys about my adventures there.
What started off as 2 - 4 weeks in Finland for work turned into 3 months of exploring and adventure, and of course work also. But with the extended amount of time, I was able to see parts of the country that I definitely wouldn’t have otherwise.
This video is about the smaller cities that were closer to where I lived in Kotka, Hamina, Porvoo, and a few national parks Valkmusa and Repovesi.

Summer walk in the area:
Langinkoski is a rapid on the Kymi river and nature reservation area in city of Kotka. Alexander III of Russia (who ruled the Grand Duchy of Finland as part of the Russian Empire in late 19th century) had a very small manor or a medium-sized log house built there, between the branches of the Kymi river. The construction of the lodge was begun in the summer of 1888. At their Langinkoski lodge the imperial family led a very simple life. The place has been a museum since 1933.
