Eine schöne Burg mit vielem interessantem drin. U.a. einer der größten Waffensammlungen und Ritterrüstungen aus dem Mittelalter.
Leider möchte der Besitzer nicht das die Burg von innen gefilmt wird.
Auf jeden Fall ein lohnender Tagesausflug mit sehr leckerem Essen vor der Burg!

Sorry for that but as I love my hometown I wanted to show you all nice places. Korneuburg is a district capital and located in the state Lower Austria about 12km northwest of Vienna. Korneuburg was first mentioned in 1136. The city was involved in a number of battles and wars: E.g. the Battle of Vienna, the Thirty Years War and the Second World War. Exploring Vienna by tram | SO MUCH SNOW
We woke up in Vienna to a snow-covered van. Pure magic! But it put a bit of a dampener on our plans to explore Vienna and the Schönbrunn botanical gardens with our new friend Maya. Instead, we all bought day passes for the tram and rode almost every line around the city, taking int the sites from the warmth and comfort of the tram. We hopped off every now and again to see famous sites like the Mozart statue and to visit a few Christmas markets. We needed something warm and cheap to eat so we grabbed some cheap street food and ate it on the tram. We had a wonderful snowy day (even if we got a little cold!).

Trofaiach is a town located in the state of Styria in Austria. It is situated in the Mur Valley and has a population of around 7,000 people.

Burg Kreuzenstein is a castle near Leobendorf in Lower Austria, The origins of Burg Kreuzenstein, like most castles in Lower Austria, date back to the 12th century. Originally built by the Counts of Formbach (now Vornbach, Bavaria),[3] the castle passed into the possession of the Counts of Wasserburg through marriage. Through Ottokar II of Bohemia, the castle came into the possession of the Habsburgs, in 1278.
In July 1527, the Anabaptist preacher Balthasar Hubmaier was arrested under the pretext of causing riots in Mikulov, Moravia and transferred to Burg Kreuzenstein. He was interrogated there but refused to renounce his beliefs and was burned at the stake in Vienna.
Until the Thirty Years War, the castle had never been conquered but then it fell into the hands of the Swedish Field Marshall Lennart Torstensson, who, on his departure in 1645, blew up three parts of the building (some sources say four).
Austria.It was constructed on the remains of an early medieval castle that had fallen into disrepair and was then demolished during the Thirty Years' War. Intended to be a family vault for the Wilczek family, it was rebuilt in the 19th century by Count Nepomuk Wilczek with money from the family's large Silesian coal mines. Kreuzenstein is interesting in that it was constructed out of sections of medieval structures purchased by the family from all over Europe to form an authentic-looking castle. Thus, the castle can be considered both a 'neo-' and 'original' medieval structure. The castle is sometimes used as a location for films.

Die Burg Kreuzenstein ist eine Schau- bzw. Museumsburg in der Marktgemeinde Leobendorf im Bezirk Korneuburg in Niederösterreich.
Die ursprünglich mittelalterliche Burganlage wurde im Zuge des Dreißigjährigen Krieges zerstört und anschließend als Baumaterial großteils abgetragen. Unter Graf Johann Nepomuk Wilczek erfolgte von 1874 bis 1906 ein Wiederaufbau der Burg als Museum für seine umfangreichen Kunstsammlungen. Die so entstandene Schauburg ist heute, ergänzt durch zahlreiche wiederverwendete mittelalterliche Bauteile und nach teilweiser Beseitigung der Brandschäden von 1915 und der Kriegsschäden von 1945, ein beliebtes Tourismusziel nördlich von Wien.
Die Höhenburg liegt nördlich der Donau auf einer Anhöhe des Rohrwaldes, direkt nördlich über der Ortschaft Leobendorf sowie gleichzeitig zwischen den Städten Korneuburg und Stockerau. Die Seehöhe beträgt 266 m ü. A., die Höhe über der Donau etwa 100 m.
Der Burgberg steht unweit des Donauknies bei der Korneuburger Pforte, sodass er einen weiten Blick auf den Stromverlauf und das vorgelagerte Korneuburger Becken ermöglicht. Etwa gegenüber, am Südufer der Donau, liegt die Burg Greifenstein.
