Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.

82 min walk through the lush greenery of Kista, a borough outside of Stockholm (Sweden). This is another of my old neighborhoods and is also where I first went to school back in 1978-1980. Not only will we see both Ärvingeskolan (old name) and Igelbäcksskolan (old name), but also a short trip inside Kista Galleria which is one of the larger malls in Stockholm.

I've already covered the top 10 free things to do in Stockholm, and the top 10 things to do under $30. This time I decided to cover how you could visit stockholm for only $87 per day - including accommodation.

In this video I cover everything you need for a visit to the capital of Sweden: where to stay, where to eat, places to drink, and things to do. And I show you how you could make it happen for less than $100 per day.
When it comes to accommodation I describe some different options, ranging from more than 4000 SEK per night at Grand Hotel, to the cheapest suitable hotel in Kista, to hostels in the city center - and on boats as well.
Stockholm has excellent public transport, so I also describe the different tickets you can buy if you're visiting for a week or a weekend. But I also mention some alternatives, such as walking or day passes for electric scooters.
There's of course a lot to do in the city as well, from Gamla stan, the Old Town, to the lovely islands of Djurgården and Långholmen. Aside from all the free activities, I also list options such as visiting the open-air musem Skansen, or kayaking in the city center, or taking a trip to the archipelago by boat. I'm counting on you wanting several activities per day in this budget.

We mustn't forget food as well. This budget won't include any luxury restaurants, but I'm still listing many different options for breakfast, lunch and dinner - including both some Swedish classics as well as more international cuisine. All at a very affordable price.
And last but not least, you want to find some cheap beer as well. It IS possible to find decently-priced drinks in Stockholm if you know where to look... Alcohol is ridiculously expensive in general in Sweden, but after watching this video you might be able to afford a few pints anyway.

Kista Galleria is a shopping mall located in the Kista Science City in Stockholm, Sweden. It has 185 stores, including a multiplex, bowling alley, karting track and restaurants. Known for its generous opening hours (9 AM to 9 PM), it has been the most visited mall in Stockholm with approximately 18 million customers annually, and the third largest in terms of sales. The mall, which opened in 1977, has expanded and been redesigned several times; most recently in 2002 and again in 2009.
