Fatehpur sikri was built by Mughal emperor Akbar. It is 37 kms from Agra, through our own cab it took us about one and a half hour to reach this Mausoleum.

It was built between 1569 and 1585, it was intended to be joint capital with Agra, but later on Mughal capital shifted to Delhi.
I did a full one day tour of Fatehpur Sikri, spent the day with Guide, who explained me about historical importance of this place.
During my tour of fatehpur sikri i visited the following:

Tomb of salim chishti
Buland Darwaza
Suggestion: I will suggest you to travel to fatehpur sikri with a guide of ASI, this will help to make the experience pleasant and knowledgable.

Buland Darwaza in Fatehpur Sikri, Highest Gateway in the World | One Minute Travel Facts
Buland Darwaza also known as the Door of victory, was built in 1601 A.D. by Mughal emperor Akbar. It is the main entrance to the Jama Masjid at Fatehpur Sikri.
Buland Darwaza was not a part of the original design of the Jama Masjid, It was constructed to commemorate his victory over Gujarat.
Buland Darwaza is the highest gateway in the world and is a best example of Mughal architecture. It is made of red sandstone, decorated by White and Black Marble. It is symmetrical and is topped by large free standing kiosks, which are also known as the chhatris. The total height of the structure is about 54 metre from the ground level.
It is a 15-storied high gateway acting as the southern entrance of the city of Fatehpur Sikri. The approach to the gate consists of 42 steps. It is semi octagonal in plan with two smaller triple-storeyed wings on either side. It has three kiosks on its top surrounded by thirteen smaller domed kiosks

हिंदुस्तान के इतिहास की रूह में एक नाम बसता है. अपने वक्त में गुमनाम गलियों में पैदा हुआ वो नाम देश की सबसे बड़ी मुगलिया सल्तनत की चौधराहट पर छप गया था. फिर वो नाम गुमनाम हो गया. कहते हैं कि जलालुद्दीन अकबर ने उसे आगरे की किसी दीवार में चुनवा दिया था. पर अकबर एक चीज भूल गए थे. वो इश्क की रंगत में सराबोर नाम था. चुनवा देने से उसकी खुशबू हिंदुस्तान की मिट्टी में मिल हर जगह पहुंच गई. अनारकली. जिसकी जिंदगी एक तिलिस्म की तरह थी. कहां शुरू हुई, कहां खत्म कोई नहीं जानता. पर दीन-ए-इलाही मानने वाले बादशाह से ये उम्मीद नहीं थी. बादशाह ने भी कुछ तिलिस्म छोड़ रखा था.
पाकिस्तान के पंजाब सिविल सेक्रेटरिएट के पास एक ताजमहल के रंग का मकबरा है. इसे अनारकली का मकबरा कहा जाता है. क्या बादशाह को नाचीज की मुहब्बत के आगे झुकना पड़ा था? कुछ तो कहते हैं कि बादशाह ही अनारकली से प्रेम कर बैठा था।
अनारकली को इतिहासकारों ने अपने मन से खंगाला है. सस्पेंस, थ्रिलर, तिलिस्म, सांसों में भरा इश्क, जुनून हर उस चीज से अनारकली को नवाजा गया है, जिससे जिंदगी की कहानियां बनती हैं. हिंदुस्तान भी काबिलों का देश है. हर तरह से रिसर्च की गई है. हर एंगल खंगाला गया है. तो हर तरह की कहानियां भी बनी हैं. कमाल ये है कि अनारकली के बारे में हर कोई अपनी ही कहानी को मुकम्मल मानता है-
1. अनारकली का नाम नादिरा बेगम हुआ करता था. शर्फुन्निसा भी कहा जाता था. ईरान से आई थीं. व्यापारियों के कारवां में लाहौर तक. पर खूबसूरती इतनी थी कि वहीं से हल्ला हो गया. उस वक्त बादशाहों को किसी चीज का डर नहीं रहता था. इज्जत का भी. क्योंकि जनता के मन में इज्जत की जगह डर से काम चल जाता था. तो अकबर बादशाह के दरबार में नादिरा को तलब किया गया. और वहां उसे अनारकली नाम मिला।
2. अगर ये कहें कि अनारकली सिर्फ भारत की दंतकथाओं में विराजती है तो गलत होगा. पाक अखबार डॉन के हवाले से ब्रिटिश टूरिस्ट विलियम फिंच 1608 से 1611 तक लाहौर में रहे थे. फिंच के मुताबिक अनारकली अकबर की कई पत्नियों में से एक पत्नी थी. जिससे अकबर को बेटा भी था. दानियाल शाह. बाद में अनारकली के जहांगीर से इश्क की अफवाह उड़ी. जहांगीर अकबर का बेटा था जोधाबाई से. अकबर ने इस बात पर खफा होकर अनारकली को लाहौर किले की दीवारों में चुनवा दिया. बाद में जहांगीर ने उसी जगह एक खूबसूरत मकबरा बनवाया।
3. नूर अहमद चिश्ती ने अपनी किताब तहकीकात-ए-चिश्तिया में लिखा है कि अकबर के अनारकली से बेपनाह मुहब्बत होने की वजह से बाकी रानियां चिढ़ गई थीं. इसीलिए जब अकबर डेक्कन गया तो उसके खिलाफ षड़यंत्र होने लगा. वो बीमार पड़ी और मर गई. उसकी बांदियों ने सुसाइड कर लिया. क्योंकि अकबर की मुहब्बत का डर था।
4. सैयद अब्दुल लतीफ ने अपनी किताब तारीख-ए-लाहौर में लिखा है कि जहांगीर से इश्क के चलते ही अनारकली की जान गई. वो अकबर की बीवी थी. जहांगीर ने उसकी कब्र पर लिखवाया कि अगर मैं अपनी महबूबा को एक बार भी पकड़ सकता तो अल्लाह का शुक्रिया करता. कयामत तक. उस कब्र पर 1599 और 1615 साल की तारीखें हैं. कहते हैं कि मरने और कब्र के पूरे होने की तारीखें हैं.
5. कन्हैया लाल ने अपनी किताब तारीख-ए-लाहौर में लिखा है कि अनारकली की बीमारी से ही मौत हुई थी. बाद में अकबर ने मकबरा बनवाया. सिख राजाओं ने उसे तोड़वा दिया. अंग्रेजों ने चर्च बनवा दिया उसका।
7. एक दूर की कहानी ये भी है. कि सलीम ने अनारकली से बाद में निकाह कर लिया था. और उसे नाम दिया नूरजहां. नूरजहां भी ईरान के मिर्जा गयास बेग की बेटी थी. नूरजहां का जहांगीर के दिमाग पर पूरा काबू था.
8. इन सबमें सबसे खतरनाक वो कहानी है जिसमें अकबर ने अपनी बीवी अनारकली को पर्दे के पीछे से सलीम को देख मुस्कुराता हुआ देखा था. और इसी बात पर उसे दीवार में दफन कर दिया।

Fatehpur Sikri ki Dargarh(फतेहपुर सीकरी की दरगाह) is known to be one of the most popular places in the Holy Complex of Fatehpur Sikri ka kila. Fatehpur Sikri History(फतेहपुर सीकरी का इतिहास) is not only about fatehpur sikri tourist places but also about Buland Darwaza(फतेहपुर सीकरी का बुलंद दरवाजा) and Mazar(फतेहपुर सीकरी की मजार) and कव्वाली(फतेहपुर सीकरी की कव्वाली) song played there. Anyways, fatehpur sikri ka buland darwaza is known to be world's largest gateway. History of Fatehpur Sikri: --
Fatehpur Sikri is known to be a town in the Agra District of Uttar Pradesh, India. The city was founded as Mughal Capital in 1571 by the mughal Emperor Akbar, who served his this role from 1571 to 1585, after which Akbar abandoned this place due to scarcity of water.
The name of the city is known to be derived from the village situated here named Sikri which actually occupied this spot before. An excavation from Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) from the year 1999 to 2000 also showed habitation as well as some temples and commercial centres here before Akbar actually built his capital here. The region was known to be settled by Sungas following their expansion. In the 12th century, it was controlled by Sikarwar Rajputs for a short period of time.
The khanqah of the popular sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chishti existed at this place earlier. Son of Akbar,Jahangir(also known as Salim), was born here at this village of Sikri to his favorite wife Mariam-uz-Zamani in the year1569 and in the same year Akbar began construction of a religious compound to give respect to the Sheikh who predicted the birth of Akbar's son. After the 2nd birthday of Jahangir, Akbar began the construction of this walled city as well as the imperial palace here. The city was later named as Fatehpur Sikri, which means City of Victory, after Akbar's Gujarat win in 1573.
But before Akbar chose this site for his capital city, his predecessors Babur and Humayun actually redesigned the urban layout of Fatehpur Sikri's. Attilio Petruccioli, who is a well known scholar of Islamic architecture as well as Professor of Landscape Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy, says that Babur and his successors wanted to get away from the noise and confusion of Agra build an uninterrupted sequence of gardens on the free left bank of the Yamuna, linked both by boat and by land.
Fatehpur Sikri was awarded the well known status of UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1986.
As per historian Syed Ali Nadeem Rezavi, the region here flourished under the rule of Sunga and then under the Sikarwar Rajputs, who actually built a fortress when they controlled this area for a short span in the 12th century. The area later came under Delhi Sultanate's and a lot of mosques were built at the place which increased during the Khalji dynasty's period.

Abhaneri is a village in the Dausa district of Rajasthan state in India. It is situated at a distance of 95 km from Jaipur, on the Jaipur-Agra road. The place is popular for the Chand Baori step well and Harshat Mata Temple.
Jaipur is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan in Northern India. It was founded on 18 November 1727 by Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amer after whom the city is named.
As of 2011, the city had a population of 3.1 million, making it the tenth most populous city in the country. Jaipur is also known as the Pink City of India. It is located 280 km (174 miles) from the Indian capital New Delhi. Jaipur is a popular tourist destination in India and forms a part of the west Golden Triangle tourist circuit along with Delhi and Agra (240 km, 149 mi). It also serves as a gateway to other tourist destinations in Rajasthan such as Jodhpur (348 km, 216 mi), Jaisalmer (571 km, 355 mi) Udaipur (421 km, 262 mi) and Mount Abu (520 km, 323 mi).

The Taj Mahal ultimately from Arabic, crown of palaces, also referred to as the Taj is a white marble mausoleum located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is widely recognized as the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage.
Taj Mahal is regarded by many as the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Islamic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish and Indian architectural styles.
In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While the white domed marble mausoleum is the most familiar component of the Taj Mahal, it is actually an integrated complex of structures. The construction began around 1632 and was completed around 1653, employing thousands of artisans and craftsmen.The construction of the Taj Mahal was entrusted to a board of architects under imperial supervision, including Abd ul-Karim Ma'mur Khan, Makramat Khan, and Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. Lahauri is generally considered to be the principal designer.

Hey guys! In this vlog, I will take you to Fatehpur Sikri, Agra, India.
37 kms from Agra is built a city predominantly in Red Sandstone and is called Fatehpur Sikri. This town was built by the Mughal Emperor, Akbar. He had planned this city as his capital but shortage of water compelled him to abandon the city. After this within 20 years, the capital of Mughals was shifted to Lahore. Fatehpur Sikri was built during 1571 and 1585. Today this ghost city has a population of about 30,000. This deserted city has retained many of the old structures, because of the efforts of the Archaeological department .Fatehpur Sikri is one of the finest examples of Mughal architectural splendour at its height. Though the city is in ruins, it is a place to visit if one comes to Agra.But in real terms Fatehpur Sikri is a place where one should spend some time. The sunset over the ruins is sight to cherish.Fatehpur Sikri is the best example of the culmination of Hindu and Muslim architecture. Fatehpur Sikri Mosque is said to be a copy of the mosque in Mecca and has designs, derived from the Persian & Hindu architecture.
Qualified guides are available near the ticket counter. Try to avoid the unauthorized 'guides' who pester the visitors the moment one gets down from the bus. If you are so needed a guide, fix up the rate and itinerary up front. Also make it clear that you need only guide service to the monuments and nothing else.
By the way it is worth hiring a guide. More so if you are new to the whole gamut of Mugal history and architecture.
