Kilkenny is a city in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is located in the Eastern and Midland Region and in the province of Leinster. It is built on both banks of the River Nore. This video is a prologue of our journey from Dublin, to the amazing Kilkenny.
Started our day with Nature walks, and ended up at Kilkenny Castle.
Next day it was the time to visit city's important historical places, and take a walk through the city centre.
Although our journey started in the heavy rain. Overall stay of Kilkenny was nice, and we were lucky that throughout the time we spent in Kilkenny, there was no drop of rain.

Kilkenny Castle is a magnificent example of Norman architecture and was once the seat of the powerful Earls of Kildare. Today, it’s a popular tourist attraction and one of Ireland’s top attractions.
The origins of the present-day Kilkenny Castle are unknown, but it is thought to have been built in the 12th century by one of the Anglo-Norman invaders. Over the years, it has passed through the hands of many different families and rulers, including the O’Briens and Fitzgeralds.
The castle was badly damaged during the Irish War of Independence (1919-1921), but was later restored by Count Plunkett and his wife Lady Gregory. Today, it is a tourist attraction and a popular venue for weddings and other events.

The stories shared by the guides are fascinating and add such richness to the experience.
