The10 Best Chocolates in Switzerland.

Created by InShot:

Swiss chocolate is famous aross the world, with good reason. The nation has a long history of excellence in the field, and many of today’s chocolatiers still use traditional recipes and make every sweet treat by hand. Our selection of the best places to eat chocolate in Switzerland is for real chocolate lovers.
You won’t find anything here but the best!!!????????????

Prices of Chocolates in Switzerland:

It depends. Chocolate in Switzerland can be dirt cheap or extremely overpriced. You can get 100g of Chocolate for .65 cents or 70g of Chocolate for 90 Swiss francs, although most expensive Chocolates are from very acclaimed Chocolate houses who’ve been there for 100’s of years, so it makes the price hurt a little bit less.

Where do I buy cheap chocolates in Switzerland?

You'll find cheap ones in supermarkets. The cheapest (and still good) ones come from Migros and Coop (M-Budget and Prix Garantie respectively), starting at 50 Rappen (0.5 Swiss Francs). They are usually to be found at the bottom of the shelves.

SWISS CHOCOLATE - SPRUNGLI AND LADERACH | Things to do in Zurich, Switzerland

A quick day, and an overnight layover, in Zurich, Switzerland - known as one of the most expensive cities in the world! So, what are some things to do in Zurich, Switzerland (during a layover)?

Thankfully our good friend Patrick took care of my layover and becoming my Zurich Travel Guide!

I started off right and got myself the Zurich Card, which gives you a free access and discounts to many Zurich Attractions, as well as to public transportation!

For more on Zurich Card:

I met up with our good friends Patrick and Julia, who lives in Herrliberg - a small, affluent community by the Lake Zurich shore. It is simply a beautiful place - and after catching up with them, Patrick and I hopped onto the Lake Zurich ferry to get back to the city center to start a small walking tour in Zurich.

There are several things to see in Zurich, including Paradeplatz and Bahnhofstrasse. In the train station, I managed to check out the two famous Swiss chocolate shops - Sprüngli and Chocolatier Läderach.

I got three truffles to taste from Läderach Bahnhofstrasse. All are very tasty and rich.

For more on Läderach, here's their website:

For dinner, I visited Zurich's most famous vegetarian restaurant, the Hiltl Zurich. The food selection was quite impressive and eclectic - and all of the dishes are vegetarian. Don't forget to weight your plate before sitting down for correct charging.

Swiss Chocolate Museum & Course at Lindt's Home of Chocolate | Zurich, Switzerland

#SwissChocolateMuseum #lindthomeofchocolate #thingstodozurich

Looking for things to do in Zurich? Lindt's Home of Chocolate, located at Schokoladenplatz 1 (chocolate place number 1), in Kilchberg, is only a 20 minute train ride from the centre of Zurich. This Swiss chocolate museum offers both chocolate making courses and a chocolate tour - including all you can eat chocolate. Inside the museum is also a 9m tall chocolate fountain full of 1.5 tons of chocolate!

We opted for both the Lindt chocolate course and the chocolate tour. The course cost 27 Swiss Francs (around $30 USD) and the tour was an additional 15 Swiss Francs. That might seem a little pricey but Switzerland is not an expensive place to travel in and those prices are somewhat par for the course.

The chocolate making course lasts for around an hour where you get to choose between milk chocolate or dark chocolate to ladle into your mould. You're then shown how to decorate your chocolate with raspberries, white chocolate and other assorted items.

The chocolate museum / tour itself takes you through the history of chocolate both worldwide and in Switzerland, how it is made and grown in popularity. For example, Nestlé are credited with the invention of condensed milk which was subsequently used to create milk chocolate - a phenomena within the chocolate world.

At the end of the tour you are presented with ample opportunity to eat as much chocolate as you want. It starts with three different chocolate fountains containing white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Following this are automatic chocolate dispensers full of the more classic Lindt bars of varying flavours. Finally, there is a room filled with a range of Lindor Truffles, at which point you are likely going to have eaten your fair share of Lindt chocolate.

Lindt's Home of Chocolate also features their largest chocolate shop in the world. The variety on hand is amazing. I had no idea how many flavours were available for the Lindor Truffles and also that Lindt offered hot chocolate and baking ingredients. I believe that some of these are only available in this particular shop.

Overall, it's well worth the half day visit and let's you dive into one of the most famous chocolate brands in the world.
