Sochi is Russia’s only subtropical resort city located in Krasnodar krai, 1,620 km south of Moscow (around 2,5 hours flight from Moscow). Sochi is informally referred to as the summer, the southern and resort “capital” of Russia.
Winter Olympic games of 2014 were held in Sochi. We will visit the Olympic Park that was constructed for the 2014 Winter Olympics and 2014 Winter Paralympics. Located in the Adlersky City District of Sochi.
And go to the mountains in Rosa Khutor - a unique all-the-year-round mountain-climatic resort of world class with cable ways and different entertainments.
...and we will visit Abkhazia, which is located only 2,5km from Sochi! :)

A Tourist's Guide to Krasnaya Polyana, Russia
Krasnaya Polyana is a retreat located in the Caucasus Mountains, close to the border with the Georgian breakaway state of Abkhazia.
Though hugely popular for skiing, we visited in May, which meant the weather was gorgeous. We wandered around the town, got a ski-lift pass to head into the mountains and generally had a lovely time!

Located by the Black Sea, here you can enjoy the beach and ski in the same day, as the Caucasus mountains are a short drive. This trip to Sochi, Russia, was on business; hence I couldn't create a longer Sochi video detailing what to do and where to go. But I learned a lot about this city with many lovely new Russian friends! Enjoy!

Yew and boxwood grove. A Byzantine fortress in southern Russia.
Hike to the Yew-Box Grove, which is part of the Caucasus Nature Reserve in southern Russia.
Yew-Box Grove is a living museum of relic vegetation, which has been preserved here almost unchanged since prehistoric times. Here you can see the oldest yew tree in Russia, which is about 2000 years old.
Unfortunately, during the preparations for the Olympic Games in Sochi on the coast, was unintentionally introduced pest - boxwood moth, which is almost destroyed evergreen boxwood on the Black Sea coast.
In the Yew-Box Grove also grow such tree species as beech, oak, linden, hornbeam, maple; and shrubs - the Caucasian bladdernut, сherry laurel, holly, yellow azalea, hazel, philadelphus caucasicus. There are many herbaceous species of plants, which are included in the Red Book of Russia.
Moreover, in the yew and boxwood grove, you can see the ruins of the Byzantine fortress of the 4th century AD. The defense is located on impregnable cliffs. From the loopholes of the fortress visible all the approaches to the fort and the entire river bed, Khosta, which is the only road by which uninvited guests could come.
