Bacharach and the Rhine River Valley , Germany .
The beautiful medieval village of Bacharach with its half timbered houses and cobblestone streets is situated on the Rhine River and is home to the renowned Riesling grape.
Since the Middle Ages, Bacharach, named for Bacchus, the ancient Roman God of wine, has been the most important wine village in the Middle Rhine Valley. At one time, when the riverbank was higher, the medieval defense tower in the center of town was on the waters’ edge and loaded wine barrels from a crane onto ships.

Geierlay Suspension Bridge, Germany | Hiking Adventure in Hünsruck and Cochem Town
The Geierlay is a suspension bridge, modelled after Nepalese suspension bridges, in the low mountain range of the Hunsrück in western Germany. This beautiful suspension bridge which is 360 m long and 100 m high above ground spans the valley of two towns Sosberg and Mörsdorf. It was one of the Europe's longest suspension foot bridge until recently.

For outdoorsy people (and not afraid of heights), this is the best hiking adventure with adrenaline rush. You. can. easily visit this place from Frankfurt or Koblenz. If you're not into much of a hiking, you can follow this route via public transport:
Frankfurt-Limburg (RB22) -- Limburg- Koblenz (RB23) --- Hbf West, Koblenz-Busbahnof Kastellaun (Bus 615) --- Busbahnhof Kastellaun-- Geirelay-Besucherzentrum, Mörsdorf Hünsruck (Bus 632)
From here you can walk about 1,8 Km on Wanderweg Geierlayschleife to reach the bridge.
If you're interested in following my hiking path, you can reach first to Koblenz and then from there take RE1 in the direction of Saarbrücken and get down at Treis-Karden. From here you can follow this hiking path:

GEIERLAYS SUSPENSION BRIDGE: One of the LONGEST SUSPENSION BRIDGES in Germany.
The Geierlay is a suspension bridge in the low mountain range of the Hunsrück in western Germany. It was opened in 2015. It has a span range of 360 meters (1,180 ft) and is up to 100 meters (330 ft) above ground. On both sides of the bridge are the villages of Mörsdorf and Sosberg. A stream named Mörsdorfer Bach runs through the valley below the bridge. The nearest city is Kastellaun 8 km eastwards. The state capital Mainz is 66 km towards the east.
The bridge has a weight of 57 tons and can support 50 tons.It is a pedestrians only bridge. Until 2020, bridge was free for tourists. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a fee of 5 euros per person was introduced for crossing the bridge. The crossing is only possible from the side of the village of Mörsdorf. Twenty per cent of all visitors visiting the bridge do not cross it. The bridge site is within the Top 100 sightseeing destinations in Germany.
Swiss Engineer Hans Pfaffen designed the bridge with similarities to Nepalese suspension bridges.
Since 2017 the Geierlay is only the second-longest suspension rope bridge in Germany.

From Koblenz, a quick train ride along the beautiful Moselle river (which is a tributary of the famous Rhein river) will let you reach Treis-Karden, from there a short bus trip will help you reach the small and picturesque town of Mörsdorf. Then it's a trek to the one-way hanging bridge of koblenz.

Geierlay Brücke, Mörsdorf 10 km
A short, but very sweet hike to and across the Geierlay bridge, with 360 meters on of the longest suspension bridges in Europe. But while the bridge is a fun outing, the surrounding forest is actually more magical than the bridge itself. And way, way less crowded.

In this video walk we cross the famous suspension bridge Geierlay in Rhineland-Palatinate in central Germany. Geierlay suspension bridge has a span range of 360 metres (1,180 ft) and is up to 100 metres (330 ft) above ground.
