MUST-EAT Egyptian Street Food in Cairo, Egypt ????????

Cairo, Egypt - Day two in Egypt and I’m ready to stuff my face with Egyptian Food! Inspired by last night’s dinner at El Prince Restaurant I can’t wait to dive deeper into Egyptian cuisine with local friends, and inevitably, learn a lot more about Egyptian culture in the process...

We start with a traditional Egyptian Breakfast at Ful Waheed in the Ramses neighborhood of Cairo, Egypt. Ful is stewed fava beans with tahini, cumin, chili powder, and other spices topped with a generous amount of oil and the option of raw hot peppers and red onions. Served with a ton of veggies, tahini, chips, and Ful Waheed’s famous Shrimp Fries.

Next up, we walk through Cairo’s largest market and most famous bazaar; Khan el-Khalili. This is definitely one of the best things to do in Cairo. We stop for tea at El Fishawi Cafe before lunch.

For an Egyptian Street Food lunch, we go to Koshary Abo Tarek in Cairo for Egypt’s National Dish - Koshary. A blue collar dish that has rice, pasta, lentils, chickpeas (hummus), fried onions, and topped with a seasoned tomato sauce. Koshary (or Kushari or Koshari) is a hearty bowl of carbs that would be enough to eat for a day by itself… we press on!

For a quick mid-day Egyptian street food desert, El Karnak in Cairo serves Combella, an Egyptian food classic that is a delicious combination of rice pudding, Kunafa, Basbousa, mango and strawberry juice, homemade cream, and fresh fruit.

One more tea break at Mohamed Salad Coffee Shop in downtown Cairo, Egypt and then it’s time for dinner at one of the best restaurants in Cairo or Giza.

Hawawshi El Rabea in Imbaba Giza is said to be the best restaurant in Egypt for this traditional Egyptian street food.

Hawawshi is thin, seasoned beef patties wrapped in traditional Egyptian bread and grilled on a flattop. It is served with tahini and vegetables.

The coolest thing about this spot is that they actually own the butcher shop right across the street as well to ensure the freshest, best quality meat in their Hawashi. And the owner Wael Rabe, is meticulous about his craft. (sound bite)

On top of the flying meat patties, they also feature other signature dishes like Molokhia, roasted meat and potatoes, Macaroni with tomato sauce and meat and Kebda, garlic and seasoned Liver with hot peppers, lemon, and bell peppers all grilled up on the flattop.

Of course, we’ll try them all, but no doubt Hawawshi is the star of the show here.

I hope you all loved this Egyptian Street Food Vlog from here in Cairo, Egypt as much as we did making it! ❤️ If so, please hit that ???? button, and leave a comment!

See ya next week!

We Tried Egypt Street Food | Must Eat Local Dishes in Cairo

Trying Egyptian Food in Cairo - it's our second day here in Cairo, Egypt and we thought we would head on out to try some of the local Egyptian and Middle Eastern Food.

To get our pallet ready we tried Ma'An Sulta (Salad water), before getting some prickly fruit from a street food cart. We then headed to Felfela, a famous restaurant here in Cairo to have some Turkish coffee, Shorbet 'ads (lentil soup), baba ganoush (eggplant dip), ful, besara and Betinjan Maqli.

On the way to our next restaurant we tried arabic coffee for the first time, hibiscus juice as well as some white Egyptian Sobia drink before trying some home cooked Bamya.

Before we tried the most famus Egyptian dish, we had some Baskote Yansoon as we made our way towards the end of downtown to try Koshari...I am not sure how we had space for desert but managed to squeeze in Konafa, Basbousa and more...we are officially full!

???????? Chapter 47: ล่องเรือเที่ยวทะเลแดงอียิปต์

■ Egypt, Hurghada

Enjoy! Sharing is caring. My gratitude to you all ????

$75 Camel Ride ????????

Travel Creators (FREE):
Travel Creator School (PAID):

Giza, Egypt ➖ When you think of top tourist attractions across the world, The Great Pyramids of Giza is definitely one that comes to mind. Today, I get to tick that off the bucket list, as I go to one of the most visited places in the world!

I knew that going without a local guide was going to be an interesting feat, especially walking there through the Egyptian summer heat. As I approached. theroad to the Pyramids, touts and scammers were everywhere to be seen. The closer I got, the more there were, and they definitely weren't happy with being on camera.

But, being used to this kind of thing over my years of travel, I entertained them with a bit of conversation, and got past their lies, making it to the real government ticket office to buy my entry ticket.

200 Egyptian pounds to enter the Pyramid area and I believe another 100 to go inside the tombs of the Pyramids. But I was more excited to meet the local people and salesman, to get an insight of local life here in Giza.

It was a fun-filled afternoon, involving camel rides, touts, Egyptian hats and sculptures, join me for the adventure at the Great Pyramids of Giza!

3 Life Lessons from Egypt

I spent 2 years exploring Egypt. I gave a lot of myself to that country, but she gave me way more in return.

The Egyptian hospitality, the mazes of Cairo neighborhoods, the entrepreneurial and creative spirit, the life in full swing at 4am, the smiling fruit vendors, koshari, taamia, basbousa, and hearing the call to prayer each day from a thousands minarets.... as well as the poverty, corruption, pollution, and chaos... each imprinted something inside of me that will remain with me forever.

So yalla bina, here are the three biggest lessons I learned from living and traveling in Egypt.

What's a fair price to pay for various products and services in Egypt? How much cash should you bring to Egypt… or should you at all? Is it safe to use credit and debit cards across Egypt? How common are ATMs that work with foreign cards? All of these questions and so many more are not only answered, but discussed in depth in this episode.
