Must do in Sweden. Karlskrona highlights 2021
Karlskrona is a locality and the seat of Karlskrona Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden with 66,675 inhabitants in 2018.It is also the capital of Blekinge County. Karlskrona is known as Sweden's only baroque city and is host to Sweden's only remaining naval base and the headquarters of the Swedish Coast Guard.
The Best of Sweden - LÅNGASJÖNÄS
The LÅNGASJÖNÄS Holiday Village comprises a campsite, two chalet parks, holiday cottages and a beach. It is situated 10 kilometres north of Karlshamn in a nature reserve with a lake and many lovely walks and is a popular place both with tourists and locals.
The lake has several naturally sandy beaches and water that is clean and invigorating. If you stay on the campsite or in a chalet you are allowed to fish in Lake Långasjön without a permit. Or you can purchase a permit for game fishing in the nearby Kroksjö lakes. Dotted around the lake in the forest youll find barbecue sites. You can also hire rowing boats and canoes. There are several marked paths in the area for walking or jogging.
How to get here
Take the E22 or road 29 to Karlshamn. From the E22 take the Karlshamn C turnoff. Follow signs to Asarum and then signs to Långasjönäs. From road 29 take turnoff to the left towards Asarum and then follow signs to Långasjönäs.

Often referred to as the oldest city in modern-day Sweden, Lund has a history spanning more than a thousand years. It is in the southernmost part of the country and is only an hour's drive from Denmark's capital, Copenhagen. Walking around you will come across many historical buildings from different periods, such as the Krognoshuset, the oldest preserved secular building in Lund. It was built around 1300.
In the city centre, it is impossible to miss Lund Cathedral, one of the oldest stone buildings still in use in Sweden. It was built circa 1090-1145 and is often referred to as the most powerful representative of Romanesque architecture in the Nordic countries. Lund Cathedral has six church organs, one of which is the largest in Sweden. Do not miss their famous colorful 14th-century astronomical clock with figures of the Three Kings which emerge twice daily at noon at 3 pm on weekdays and 1 pm at 3 pm on Sundays.
The city is anchored by one of Scandinavia's oldest and largest institutions for education and research. Lund University was established in 1666 and until around 1800 the entire institution was contained in Kungshuset which in translation means King's House. Nearby is the University's impressive new main building built in the 19th century.
When visiting the city be sure to visit the local parks full of splendid flowers and beautiful fountains. In the very centre, on more than 8 hectares, is the University Botanical Garden founded in 1690. It is open daily to the public without charge. Here you can discover more than 7000 species of plants. The area is complemented by greenhouses representing nine different climate zones.
