জলঙ্গি নদী | যেখানে গঙ্গার সাথে মিলিত হয়েছে | জলঙ্গি নদীর সৌন্দর্য
জলঙ্গী নদী ভারত-এর পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্যের মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলা ও নদিয়া জেলা দিয়ে প্রবাহিত। অতীতে এর নাম ছিল খড়ে নদী।[১] নদীটি মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলায় পদ্মা নদী থেকে উৎপন্ন হয় নদিয়া জেলার পলাশীপাড়া, তেহট্ট, কৃষ্ণনগর শহরের পাশ দিয়ে প্রবাহিত হয়ে মায়াপুরের কাছে ভাগীরথী নদীতে মিলিত হয়েছে। এই মিলিত নদী প্রবাহ এর পর হুগলি নদী নামে পরিচিত। নদীটির মোট দৈর্ঘ্য ২২০ কিলোমিটারের কাছাকাছি।[২] বর্তমানে নদীটিতে পলি জমে যাওয়ায় এটি তার গভীরতা হারিয়েছে।
জলঙ্গী নদী মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলায় চর মধবোনার কাছে পদ্মা নদী থেকে উৎপত্তি লাভ করেছে। উৎস স্থল থেকে দক্ষিণে নদীটি প্রবাহিত হয়েছে। প্রবাহ পথে নদীটি ইসলামপুর, ডোমকল, তেহট্ট, পলাশীপাড়া, চাপড়া অতিক্রম করে কৃষ্ণনগরের কাছে এসে পশ্চিম দিকে বাঁক নিয়েছে। এর পর নদীটি পশ্চিমমুখী হয়ে মায়াপুরের কাছে স্বরূপগঞ্জে গঙ্গা বা ভাগীরথী নদীর সঙ্গে মিলিত হয়েছে। এই প্রবাহ পথের মোট দৈর্ঘ্য ২২০ কিলোমিটার। নদীটির প্রবাহ পথে প্রচুর নদী বাঁক ও অশ্বক্ষুরাকৃতি হ্রদ দেখা যায়। ভৈরব নদী এই নদীর সঙ্গে যুক্ত হয়েছে এবং এই নদীটিই জলঙ্গী নদীর বেশির ভাগ জলের যোগান দেয়। বর্ষার মরশুম ছাড়া গ্রীষ্মের মরশুমে নদীটির জল অস্বাভাবিকভাবে কমে যায়।
জলংগী নদীকে দখল করে চাষবাস শুরু হওয়ায় নানা জায়গায় নদীর অবস্থা বর্তমানে খুবই খারাপ। কোথাও কোথাও কচুরিপানায় ভরেছে জলঙ্গি নদী। অবৈধ ইঁটভাটার কারণে যত্রতত্র নদীর ধার থেকে মাটি কাটার ফলে বন্যার সময় নদীর গতিশীল ভারসাম্য বিনষ্ট হচ্ছে। অগভীর হচ্ছে নদীখাত।
সত্যজিৎ রায়ের অপুর সংসার সিনেমার অনেকটা অংশই জলঙ্গীর পাড়ে তোলা। জীবনানন্দ দাশের কবিতা 'আবার আসিব আমি বাংলার নদী মাঠ ক্ষেত ভালবেসে, জলাঙ্গীর ঢেউয়ে ভেজা বাংলার এ সবুজ করুণ ডাঙ্গায়'। সাগর চট্টোপাধ্যায় ও নদীয়ার গনশিল্পী বাবলু হালদারের গান 'ও আমার জলঙগী নদী, তোর কোলে রইলাম আমি, জনম অবধি'।

Before the beginning of the Nawabi period in the Murshidabad district, the country was ruled by Bengali kings, shramantas, dewans, subedars, and zamindars. Those zamindari patterns are still circulating, witnessing a lot of history in a very dangerous situation. Unfortunately, neither the present government nor any historian or archaeologist of India and West Bengal tourist department has been acquired by the Archaeological Department of India or the West Bengal State Government Tourism Department. As a result, many of the old and beautiful mahals are locals, and those who claim them as inheritance are demolishing them for their own sake, constructing new houses and selling them in reverse. I gave it to a couple of people like 1, Gayatri Chowdhury 2, Shri Nimai Chowdhury 3, Nripendra Narayan Chowdhury 4, Banku Babu, 5, Amritendu Roy 6, Ruman Kund (Bankeshwar Chowdhury).
