Top 4 Places to Visit in Kalamata, Peloponnese | Greece Travel Guide
Welcome to beautiful Kalamata, the exotic coastal city in Messinia, Peloponnese, Greece. In this video we are looking at the top 4 places you must see if you're visiting the city. Three amazing beaches and one place that is excellent for food and cocktails, with stunning nighttime view at the city of Kalamata and the Messenian Gulf.
Of course, the places that are worth visiting are so much more but most of them I have shown you in past videos. This travel guide video in 4K, focuses on my personal favorites and these are truly the places I hang around when I'm visiting the city. I have visited those places countless times and I guarantee that you'll be 100% satisfied with the beaches as well with the food and drinks service in all these places (not sponsored). Before that, a few words about Kalamata. It is the second most populous city of the Peloponnese peninsula after Patra and the capital and chief port of the Messenia regional unit. The city is easily accessible by car from all mainland Greece, by boat if you're cruising and via the international airport if you are visiting from foreign countries. Kalamata is close to some of the most popular places in Peloponnese like Methoni, Koroni, Pylos, Voidokilia Beach and the stunning Costa Navarino Hotel Resort.

From amazing sunrises to breathtaking sunsets with the most awesome view, from gorgeous beaches to the picturesque port where it's full of life 24/7, Kalamata is a city for all ages and budgets with amazing food for all tastes. From gyros and Greek souvlaki to fresh fish and healthy salads, the city will leave your taste buds fully satisfied.
The city of Kalamata is also close to other popular places in Peloponnese like Pylos, Gialova, Methoni, Koroni, Finikounda and the world famous beach of Voidokilia, (some are already featured on my channel, the rest are coming soon).
So what are you waiting for, I know that the Greek islands like Santorini and Mykonos steal the show every year but you won't find a more accessible, cheap and beautiful summer travel destination in Greece to have the time of your life. Kalamata has an international airport that makes it easy accessible by plane from major European cities.

KALAMATA, BEACH, Seafront and Marina
Kalamata is a major town and beach resort in the Southern Peloponnese, Greece.
Here we explore Kalamata's vibrant Beach, Harbour, Seafront and Marina.
Popular in the summer with holiday makers and vacationers, it is also busy as a commercial hub and shopping destination in the winter.
The major attraction is the beach, but Kalamata also has the benefits of a Byzantine Castle, a Cathedral, a medieval old town, a modern commercial shopping area, a Marina and Harbour, and uniquely a Municipal Train park!
If you are touring the Peloponnese, or perhaps looking for an extended day trip from Athens, then Kalamata is worth considering as a base for exploring the southern Peloponnese, with The Mani Peninsula, Koroni, Methoni and Pylos all easily reachable.
With great transport links to Athens, via fantastic roads, for car or regular bus. The marina and Harbour are also a destination for sail boats in the summer, plying the coast and the Aegean.
Ferries can also be taken to Crete from this Kalamata. The town is a good base for visiting the Mani Peninsula, Koroni or Sparta.
The town is also famous of course for the Kalamata olives, eaten world wide.

Top Things To Do in Kalamata, Peloponnese, Greece: Boat Ride | Καλαμάτα
While on a summer vacation and our stay in Kalamata, we took the chance to go for a sunset boat ride! The experience was simply amazing and the scenery absolutely gorgeous. I would highly recommend doing this yourselves. Albatros II does daily cruises, sunset boat rides and night rides with live music. This was filmed entirely with a Xiaomi Mijia 4K Action Camera. Enjoy!!!
If you have never visited Greece, then you miss a lot of beauty in this world! Any time of the year, 365 days a year, Greece offers amazing landscapes, unique people and excellent food. From rivers, lakes and mountains to truly amazing sandy and rocky beaches, Greece has it all. Such a small country but with so vast diversity considering the scenery, the food habits, the traditions, the people.
Greece thrives during summertime. The warm sun and the amazing beaches with crystal clear waters will leave you breathless. Not to mention the glorious sunsets by the beach. Some of the top destinations during the summer include the Greek islands of course like Mykonos, Santorini, Paros, Naxos, Milos, Rhodes and Crete in the Aegean Sea and Lefkada, Corfu, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Zakynthos and Paxos in the Ionian Sea. As far as mainland goes, top travel destinations are considered the city of Athens, Peloponnese peninsula, Epirus and Chalkidiki up north. Honestly, I could continue forever doing this but you get the picture.

Top Places In Greece: Akrogiali Beach, Kalamata Peloponnese | Μεσσηνία
Located 20 minutes away from the beautiful city of Kalamata in Messinia, Peloponnese, Akrogiali Beach is the perfect place to go swimming, enjoy excellent food by the sea and witness a gorgeous sunset.
The small coastal settlement of Akrogiali Avia (built at the foothills of Taygetosis), is well organised with mini markets, coffee shops, taverns and bars and you'll find plenty of options as far as accommodation goes. And this makes it an ideal tourist destination for the summer months.
The broader region offers numerous more small beaches, like those in Archontiko, Mikri Mantineia, Santova and Kitries. You can't go wrong with any of these places and trust me, I have visited them all.
