The Ayyan Temple is a banana plantation located next to Somanur in Coimbatore district. This temple is revered by the people of the Kongu region. You can see the history behind this centuries old temple and the miracles performed by Ayyan in the banana plantation.
Chinnaiyan was born in Ayyampalayam next to Somanur as the son of Sengaliyappan. He belongs to a farming family. At one time he was engaged in herding cattle according to his father's wishes. He made a custom of adding stones to the cows while they were weaving and worshiping them in the evening. Chinnaiyan used to lease a banana plantation in Kalipalayam near his hometown and cultivate bananas. That is why they called him Banana Garden Ayyan. One day a sage appeared in a Chinnaiyan dream as a Shiva scorpion and blessed him. Chinnaiyan, who came to the pasture as usual the next day, forgot himself and worshiped Shiva as he sang. Then he saw a paranormal figure with a smile. Immediately he fell on his knees and worshiped. The elder, delighted at the respect he paid, He saw a venomous snake crawling near the stage. Then he told Chinnaiyan to tell him that we had ordered the snake to stand still. At Chinnaiyan's request, the snake did the same, telling him to stop and go.
Thus the bewildered Chinnaiyan fell at the feet of the goddess Thiruvadi and prayed to Arut Perunguruve to teach Bodhi to save the people who were suffering from poisonous snakes and other venomous animals. He then taught him the mantra of poison breaking and explained the glory of devotional yoga. Then he got up at his request and went home. Siddhar sat in a separate room in the house. After a while Siddhar disappeared. Chinnaiyan solved the problems of the patients who came to him and the suffering of the people by the poison of snakes and scorpions.
A woman was cured of leukemia by applying water. He then refused to buy the gold coins given by the woman and served without exchanging them with anyone. Chinnaiyan performed many miracles like this. Ayyan lovingly raised a calf on his farm. One night Eason appeared in a dream. Then he said, Sir, you are 72 years old and the life of this world is coming to an end. Then Nandi Thevar appeared in the sky with miraculous light with giant moments. He came down from heaven and stood between the two horns of the bull. Lord Thiruvadi joined as the bull rushed towards Ayyana and stabbed him in the stomach with his sharp horn and threw him upwards.
Ayyan, who went to the temple, appeared in a gardener's dream and told Nandi where the lingam he had painted was hidden. Then the Urmas took it and worshiped it under the tree where he was blessed. The lingam and nandi under this tree are very small and the snake carcass on its side has grown. That cancerous soil is still used today as a cure for thousands of ailments.
Devotees perform Pongal at the temple and fulfill their prayers. There is cancerous soil in the sanctum sanctorum and outside of the banana plantation Ayyan temple. People who have been poisoned by snakes say that if they come here and take the cancerous soil and rub it on the poisoned place, the disease will be cured. People who come to the temple say that if you take the cancerous soil home and dissolve it in water and spray it on the houses, the poisons will not come.
The headquarters of the temple is the Kiluvai tree and the Shivalingam and Nandi on the grass near it are magnificent. The Ganesha temple is on three sides around the Moolasthan, the roof of the planet Karpa is cut and rooted, and surrounded by granite walls. Weekly Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays are special days. Crowds of devotees wave on the new moon.

காரமடை ரங்கநாதர் கோவில்
அக்காலத்தில் காரை மரங்கள் நிறைந்த பகுதியாக இருந்ததால் காரை வனம் என அழைக்கப்பட்டு நாளடைவில் காரமடை என மருவியது. காராம்பசு மாடுகளை வளர்த்து வந்த இடையர் ஒருவர் ஒரு மாட்டின் மடியில் மட்டும் பால் இல்லாமல் இருந்ததை கண்டார். ஒரு நாள் அந்த மாட்டை பின் தொடர்ந்து சென்ற இடையர் அந்த காராம் பசு புதர் மீது தானாகவே பாலை சொரிந்து கொண்டிருந்ததைக் கண்டு அங்கு என்ன உள்ளது என்பதை பார்க்க அரிவாளால் புதரை வெட்ட கையை ஓங்கினார். அப்போது பெருமாள் தோன்ற மூர்ச்சையாகி விழுந்தார். இரவு நெடுநேரமாகியும் இடையர் வீடு திரும்பாததால் ஊர்மக்கள் கையில் தீப்பந்தங்களுடன் இடையரை தேடினர். புதர் அருகே இடையர் மயங்கிக் கிடப்பதைக் கண்டு எழுப்பி விவரம் கேட்டனர். இடையர் நடந்ததைக் கூறினார். ஊர்மக்கள் புதரை அகற்றிய போது லிங்க வடிவில் இருந்ததைக் கண்டு சிவனா பெருமாளா என குழப்பமடைந்தனர். அப்போது அங்கிருந்த ஒருவருக்கு அருள் வந்து சுயம்பு வடிவில் வந்தது பெருமாள் என கூறினார். பின்னர் ஊர் மக்கள் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து அரங்கனுக்கு கோவில் கட்டி வழிபட்டு வந்தனர். மன்னர் திருமலை நாயக்கருக்கு ஏற்பட்ட ராஜபிளவை எனும் நோயை அரங்கநாதர் கோவில் ஸ்தல விருட்சமாக உள்ள காரைமர இலைகளை வைத்து கட்டியபின் குணமடைந்தார். அதனால் கல்யாண மண்டபம், மதில் சுவர், தேர் ஆகியவற்றை செய்து கொடுத்துள்ளார்.

அமுதம் பெற, தேவர்களும், அசுரர்களும் பாற்கடலைக் கடைந்தபோது கயிறாகப் பயன்பட்ட வாசுகி நாகம் களைப்பில் நஞ்சை உமிழ்ந்தது. தங்களைக் காக்கும்படி தேவர்கள் சிவனிடம் முறையிட்டனர். சிவன் தேவர்களைக் காக்க நஞ்சை விழுங்கினார். அப்போது அம்பிகை அவரது கழுத்தைப் பிடித்து நஞ்சு உடலுக்குள் செல்லாமல் நிறுத்தினாள். நஞ்சு கழுத்திலேயே தங்கியது. இந்த நிகழ்வின் அடிப்படையில் இத்தலத்தில் சிவனுக்கு கோயில் எழுப்பப்பட்டது. தேவர்களை காப்பதற்காக நஞ்சை உண்டவர் என்பதால் நஞ்சுண்டேஸ்வரர் என்று பெயர் பெற்றார். திருநீலகண்டன் என்றும் இவருக்குப் பெயர் உண்டு. சிவனின் உடலில் நஞ்சு இறங்காமல் செய்து உலக உயிர்களை காப்பாற்றியதால் அம்பிகை லோகநாயகி என்ற பெயரில் அழைக்கப்படுகிறாள். இரண்டு கரங்களில் தாமரையுடன் காட்சி தரும் இவரது சிற்பம் திருவாட்சியுடன் வடிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. மதுரை மீனாட்சியம்மன் கோயில் போலவே சிவன் சன்னதியைச் சுற்றிலும் திசைக்கு 2 என 8 யானைகள் விமானத்தை தாங்கியபடி அமைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. மூலக் கோவில் சோழர் காலத்தைச் சேர்ந்தது. விஜயநகர மன்னர்கள் மற்றும் நாயக்கர் காலத்தில் திருப்பணிகள் நடைபெற்றுள்ளது.

Ranganathaswamy temple (also called Karamadai Temple) in Karamadai, a town panchayat in Coimbatore district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. It is located 23 km from Coimbatore in the Coimbatore - Mettuplayam highway. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Ranganathaswamy and his consort Lakshmi as Ranganayaki in this temple.
As per Hindu legend, the face of Ranganatha was found under an anthill in the place where the Kattariyar tribe was residing. A granite wall surrounds the temple, enclosing all its shrines. The temple has a seven tiered rajagopuram, the temple's gateway tower.
The temple follows Thenkalai tradition of worship. Four daily rituals and many yearly festivals are held at the temple, of which the fifteen-day annual Brahmotsavam during the Tamil month of Maasi (February - March),
