Jamshedpur is a large city set between the Subarnarekha and Kharkai rivers in the east Indian state of Jharkhand. It’s known for huge, tree-lined Jubilee Park, where the Tata Steel Zoological Park has resident species including tigers and leopards. To the east, the hilltop Bhuvaneshwari Temple has an elaborate 5-story entrance tower. North of the city, elephants roam through the forests at Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary.

1. Jubilee Park :
One of the biggest parks in the country, the Jubilee Park is spread on a sprawling campus of 237.75 acres. The park was inaugurated in the year 1956 including lush green landscape, an amusement park, skating ring and a horticulture garden which contains a wide variety of plant species.
2. Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary :
Located inside the Jubilee Park, the Tata Steel Zoological Park is an unkempt zoo which houses wildlife in its natural habitat. The park gives a respite to people with long and tiring jobs in the city and makes them see and experience nature and wildlife in their most pristine form.
3. Dalma Hills :
Located at the distance of 13 kms from the main city of Jamshedpur, Dalma hill is the famous tourist hotspot lies in the Jharkhand state of India. The exotic ranges of Dalma hill is situated at a height of 3000 feet above sea level. The destination is known for rich forest reserve, Asiatic elephants and a wildlife sanctuary. Sir Dorabji Tata Park was built by Tata Steel and dedicated to RussiModi so this park was earlier called •Modi Parkê. Later it was named after Sir Dorabji Tata, son of Jamshedji Tata and a massive statue of Sir Dorabji Tata was installed in the park. The park boasts of well-maintained gardens, brilliant water fountains and gorgeous flower beds.
6. Russi Modi Centre of Excellence :
Located just outside of the Jubilee Park, the Russi Modi Centre for Excellence houses various professional organizations in Jamshedpur. The building was designed by Hafeez Contractor and is considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in Jamshedpur.
The building was formerly designed as the Jubilee Park. It houses archives of Tata Steel, a brilliant representation of its journey to being one of the biggest and most successful industries in the world.
7. Jayanti Sarovar :

1- Jubilee Park - Jubilee Park is an urban park located in the city of Jamshedpur in India.[1] It is a popular destination for all those who wish to have an outdoor picnic, enjoy some outdoor activities and games or even just to have a relaxing day out with friends and family .
2 - Dimna lake - Located at distance of about 13Kms from the Jamshedpur city limits, at the foot of the Dalma Hills, its salubrious surroundings are ideal for picnics and boating.
3 - Russi Mody centre for excellence - Rustomji Homusji Mody[1], known to most as Russi Mody (17 January 1918 – 16 May 2014) was a chairman and managing director of Tata Steel and a leading member of the Tata Group.
4 - Sai Temple - The Sri Sai Centre, built on 0.75 acre at a cost of around Rs 3 crore, is meant for all devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba, the legendary saint held as the incarnation of Krishna by some and a pir by others.
5 - Tata Steel Zoological Park - Tata Steel Zoological Park is situated in the corner most area of Jubilee Park. This zoo is known for its Safari Park, which enables tourists to drive through the wooded area, where animals roam freely. Tourists can also visit the Nature Education Centre in the zoo,[2] which gives information about the zoo animals. Other things to do in this zoo are to take a boat ride in the Jubilee Lake and walk along the nature Trail.
6 - Bhubaneswari Temple - This temple was established by a Tamil priest, Mr Rangarajan, a revered figure amongst the Tamil Brahmins. This place is a part of the Tata Motors colony and is the highest point in Jamshedpur, from where you can view the entire city.
The adjoining Krishna temple was established by the people from Kerala.
One can have the blessings from both the places in a single visit as well have a view of the city.
7 - Jayanti sarovar - This is a nice destination for those who want to spend some time with their family and friends. It is located near the entrance of Tata steel zoological park. Hence this lake supports great variety of flora and fauna along with providing pleasant atmosphere to both jubilee park and zoo. 8 - Dalma wildlife sanctuary - Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary is located 10 km from the city of Jamshedpur in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It was inaugurated by Sanjay Gandhi in 1975. It is a notable wildlife sanctuary and contains significant population of Indian Elephants.
9 - JRD Tata sports complex - The JRD Tata Sports Complex Stadium is a 40,000-capacity (often limited to 24,424 for ISL games) stadium in Jamshedpur, India. It is currently used mostly for football matches and athletics competitions. It has been the home stadium of Jamshedpur FC since the 2017–18 season. The stadium holds 24,424-40,000 spectators for sports matches (depending on event).

We travelled from Ranchi to Jamshedpur and back. Road between Jamshedpur and Ranchi is very good - we had a very comfortable journey. It took us around 2 and a half hours to drive from Ranchi to Jamshedpur. On our way we visited the holy and ancient Deori Mandir in Tamar region (Temple of Goddess Durga) which is at almost the midpoint between Jamshedpur and Ranchi. This temple is frequented by the former Indian Cricket Captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni as well.

Jamshedpur or Tatanagar is the largest and most populous city in Jharkhand and the first planned industrial city in India. It is a Notified Area Council and Municipal Corporation and also the headquarter of the East Singhbhum district. It is a popular tourist destination known for its forests, ancient temples and royal palaces. It was ranked as the cleanest city of India in the year 2019.
It was founded by Jamsetji Tata, founder of the Tata Group, and was named after him. It was established in 1919.
Jamshedpur was ranked as the cleanest city of India in 2020 by Swach Survekshan in 2020. Jamshedpur was ranked the 7th cleanest city of India in 2010. The city is also ranked as 2nd in India in terms of quality of life. Jamshedpur is the 84th fastest growing city in the world according to City Mayors Foundation. It is the headquarters of the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand and is the 36th – largest urban agglomeration and 72nd largest city in India by population. It is one of the first Smart Cities in India along with Naya Raipur.
In 1919 Lord Chelmsford renamed the city, which was originally Sakchi, to Jamshedpur in honour of its founder, Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata. Tata had written to his son Dorabji Tata about his vision of a great city in the area. On Founders Day (3 March), the 225-acre (0.91 km2) Jubilee Park is decorated with brilliant lightwork for about a week.
The prospectors C. M. Weld, Dorabji Tata and Shapurji Saklatvala took nearly three years in a painstaking search across vast stretches of inhospitable terrain to find a location for a steel plant. One day they came across Sakchi (present-day a business district), on the densely forested stretches of the Chota Nagpur plateau, near the confluence of the Subarnarekha and Kharkai rivers. It seemed to be the ideal choice and the place was selected.
In 1908, the construction of the plant as well as the city officially began.[18] The first steel ingot was rolled on 16 February 1912. It was a momentous day in the history of industrial India.
Jamsetji Tata's plan for the city was clear. He envisioned far more than a mere row of workers' hutments. He insisted upon building all the comforts and conveniences a city could provide. As a result, many areas in the city are well planned and there are public leisure places such as the Jubilee Park. While building the city, Tata had said:
Be sure to lay wide streets planted with shady trees, every other of a quick-growing variety. Be sure that there is plenty of space for lawns and gardens; reserve large areas for football, hockey and parks; earmark areas for Hindu temples, Muslim mosques and Christian churches.

Messrs Julin Kennedy Sahlin from Pittsburgh prepared the first layout of the town of Jamshedpur. Jamshedpur is a million-plus city with three municipal corporations, Jamshedpur Notified area committee, Jugsalai Municipal corporation and Mango Notified area committee.
In 1945, Tata Motors was setup here. It is now the second largest industry in Jamshedpur. A municipal corporation was proposed in 2005 but after protests from the residents this did not happen.

Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary is situated around the Dalma Hills. Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary is a much larger area starting from Chandil to 40 km east. The sanctuary covers around 195 km2. It is about 100 km from the capital city Ranchi, and 15 km from the steel city Jamshedpur. The wildlife sanctuary runs parallel to the NH-33 with hills as high as 915 m from sea level. Dalma Sanctuary is spread over 193 km2 of forests of East Singhbhum and Saraikela-kharsawan districts of the state of Jharkhand. The forests of Dalma come under the category Dry peninsular Sal and Northern Dry Mixed Deciduous Forest. Most part of Dalma forests shed leaves in the summer and attains its full bloom at the onset of monsoon

Pahar Bhanga is approximately 15 km from Jamshedpur station or Jadugoda. It is about 30 km from Ghatsila. One can reach here by private or hire vehicle. Roads are in good condition. Pahar Bhanga is located in Luyadi. It is just a few kilometres away from The Weekend Resort, Shankarda. It is a popular picnic spot and it is beautiful throughout the year.
Pahar Bhanga is breathtakingly beautiful and one has to really see it to believe it. It is a must see if you visit Ghatsila or Jamshedpur.
In this video, I am using simple framing and composition techniques in photography to capture the beauty of Pahar Bhanga mountain and Hill River. I am giving some tips for better composition for taking interesting pics here or anywhere else.
