Kalna or Ambika Kalna is a city and a municipality in Purba Burdwan district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of the Kalna subdivision. It is situated on the western bank of the Bhāgirathi. It is also known as City of Temples. Ambika Kalna is famous for its terracotta temples built in the 18th century. In my video, I have shared my experience in a winter weekend in all aspects.The city is known for the various old temples with terracotta works.

How to Reach :
Kalna can be easily reached by road, which is 95kms away from Kolkata.
Otherwise there are many local trains plying from Howrah to Katwa | Sealdah to Katwa | Bandel to Katwa Sealdah to Jangipur.
By train you have to reach Ambika Kalna station, from where you can get plentynof Toto / Auto for sightseeing.
Apart from this, Kalna can be easily reached by ferry service between Shantipur and Kalna.

Ambika Kalna Travel || একদিনে ঘুরে নিন অম্বিকা কালনা
Ambika Kalna is famous for its 108 Shiva Temple - an architectural marvel. There are few other temples within the temple complex which is worth visiting. Located about 80 kms from Kolkata in the Burdwan District of West Bengal, it can be easily reached by road (2 hours) or taking a local train from Howrah Station towards Katwa.
The city is known for the various old temples with terracotta works. A toto can be hired to visit all the attractions. Most will guide you to all the places.

We took Howrah Ranchi Shatabdi express to reach Dhanbad. From Dhanbad Junction we took a car and visited Usri falls then Topchanchi Lake and then Bhatinda waterfall. Unfortunately we lost our drone at Usri waterfall.

Known as the ‘City of Temples’, Ambika Kalna in West Bengal is famous for its terracotta temples built in the 18th century. The shrine complex matches the splendor and artistic excellence of the terracotta temples at Bishnupur.
Located on the banks of Bhagirathi river in Bardhaman district, the town also known as Kalna is named after Goddess Kali. The first reference to Ambika Kalna is found in a 6th century text when it was an important center for maritime trade. However, the town truly attained glory under the Maharajas of Bardhaman in the 18th century. During this period, the Bardhaman rulers built several temples with detailed terracotta ornamentation.

Kalna or Ambika Kalna is a town in the Purba Bardhaman district of West Bengal, India. It is the headquarters of the Kalna subdivision, situated on the western bank of the Bhagirathi river. The city is more popularly known as Ambika Kalna, named after the goddess Kali, Maa Ambika. It has numerous historical monuments, such as the Rajbari (the palace), and 108 Shiva temples. The city of Kalna is 60 kilometres (37 mi) from Bardhaman. The city is known for the various old temples with terracotta works. A toto can be hired to visit all the attractions.
