Darjeeling is the best tourist place in West bengal and one of the best in India. There is no other beautiful hill station in West Bengal than Darjeeling. Darjeeling is called the Queen of Hills. It is a town located in the state of west bengal. Once it was built by the British and soon it became famous for tea cultivation. Darjeeling tea is the best in the world. Darjeeling is located at an average elevation of 2042m. Distance between Siliguri and Darjeeling is nearly 61km. One can go there by car, share jeep or bus. It will take 2:30 hours to reach Darjeeling from NJP or siliguri.

Shaoxing: China's Famous Water Town and the Museum without Walls | A Walking Tour by Walk East
The city of Shaoxing covers 8256 square kilometers.
It has a tropical and subtropical humid monsoon climate, it has a rainfall of 1300 millimeter annually.
It is north of Qiantang river with meandering Chao'e river across it, and is a famous watery region in south China.
Situated in the south of Yangtze River Delta, Shaoxin City is 230 kilometers from Shanghai and has two neighbors in the province - Ningbo and Hangzhou separately in the east and west.
It covers an area of 8,256 square kilometers and has a population of 4.34 million. Shaoxing is a city of story. It is a cultural ancient city which has a history of 2,500 years.
With the accumulation of so many years' history, you will not feel surprised to hear its nicknames - Museum without Walls and the Land of Celebrities. Shaoxing has long been the place that tourists are intrigued by. It is mainly because of its picturesque scenery, abundant human landscapes and local customs.
It is a renowned city of water and bridge in the south of the Yangtze River and thus gets the name of Oriental Venice. The crystal water, which is sparkling in the sun, flows under the stone bridges with green plants on both banks of the river.
Canoes are paddled in the water, adding agility into the peaceful and quiet watery world. The rivers flow as far as 1,900 kilometers with over 4,000 bridges lying on them as rainbows appearing on the sky after rain. It is the place where you can enjoy the authentic and classic scenery of water town.
Shaoxing Old Wine, whose history can be dated back to the Spring and Autumn Period, is a must for the visitors to Shaoxing. With unique traditional skills and water of Jianhu Lake, Shaoxing Old Wine is regarded to be the king of Chinese rice wine. It is widely used as a kind of drink, medicine and seasoning.
As a city of long and rich history, Shaoxing has some antique markets that are really worth visiting. Stroll in the markets, you will be drinking in them which are quite different from those which you have kept on wandering in.
There are old-time stone archways, long flagstone streets by the river as well as delicate small stores. In the stores, the simple but classical antiques, age-old calligraphies and paintings are waiting to be taken by the one who appreciates them. In addition, there are some markets where special stamps, coins and cards are sold.
When night falls gradually, you can take a canoe to travel around the city. Drifting downstream, you would see a world far from the madding crowd. In the world, there are white walls and green tiles, round caves and twisting paths, flowers in clusters and the shades of willow. With no luxurious decoration, it is impressing people in its own way.
The round-the-city river is about 12 kilometers long. The main tourist spots in the city center of Shaoxing are distributed by the river and 27 bridges link two banks on the river. The whole trip takes around half an hour.
Apart from being an administrative center of medium rank, Shaoxing is the commercial hub of a rich and productive agricultural area that was drained and irrigated from very early times. Much of the area yields two crops of rice per year.
Cotton, jute, and rapeseed are also widely cultivated. The hilly Pingshui area south of the city is an old established tea-growing district producing high-quality green tea, the history of which can be traced at least to the 7th century. Another traditional industry is wine making. The chief wine-making centre is some 8 miles (13 km) west of the city at Keqiao.
Shaoxing is one of the famous historical cities in China. Numerous accomplished scholars or figures were born or lived here such as Yu the Great in the far ancient China and the famous writer Lu Xun in modern times. This city thus boasts the title of 'City of Personages.'
Although the city appears quite simple and peaceful, the economy here has been developing rapidly, especially with regards to the textile industry. Thanks to the advanced silkworm rearing over thousands of years, silk products from Shaoxing are famous all over China for their high quality as well as a large quantity.

BudgeBudge is a popular town in the South 24 Parganas district. The recently built Sampriti flyover in Kolkata can be reached in a very short time. Achipur is a small town located five kilometers west of BudgeBudge.
The Century-Old Chinese Temple: It is said that Tong Achu, a Chinese businessman, came to this place about 250 years ago. Achipur is the name of this town from the name of Mr. Achu. There is an ancient Chinese temple in Achipur. According to the foundation stone of this temple, it was built in 1718 AD. According to the Chinese tradition, the Earth god and goddess are worshiped in this temple. The structure of the interior of the temple is based on Chinese culture. In some places, the Chinese font is visible in the writing. Every year on the Chinese New Year, the Chinese living in Calcutta come to this temple to pay their respects. Along with the temple, homage is also paid to Achu Saheb's graveyard. Behind the main temple is an ancient tree and a Dakshinaraya temple. There is also a ground in the temple precincts and a small pond in one of its corners.
Tomb of Tong Achu's: From this temple one can reach on foot along the river Hooghly. And there is the grave of Mr. Achu. The surroundings of this horse-shaped tomb are also worth seeing. Tong Achu bought land from the East India Company and started a sugar factory. After many years of operation, the factory closed, and the Chinese relocated. Moyapur Baurdkhana: If you go from Achipur to Birlapur in the south you can see the gunpowder house built during the British period. This place was known as Moyapur Barudkhana in ancient times. Although the exact date of construction of the Moyapur ammunition depot is not known, according to the Calcutta Port Trust, the depot was used in about 1803. Then gunpowder was brought by ship and kept here. It's been a long time. Today nothing is visible except the ruins of the buildings.
Bawali: Bawali is located 7-8 km east of Barudkhana. Bawali has many resorts which are ideal for weekend trips. There are also hundreds of years old palaces built by the Zamindar Mandal family of Bawali. Not far from the palace is the Bawali temple complex, the main attraction of which is the Gopinath temple in the Navaratna style. There are many temples in this ancient temple complex built by the Mandal family. Each temple is built in ancient times. The Atchala style Radhaballav temple has all the other idols of the temple. The Radhaballav temple could not be entered as it was closed. The rest of the temples are being renovated. A big festival was organized on the occasion of Dol, some of which you can see.
How to Reach: You can reach Achipur directly from Esplanade by Bus on route 77. Bawali can be reached from Thakurpukur Bazaar or Amtala. Both the places are well connected to Esplanade Bus Stop. Buses are frequently available.
Note: There are very less transport facilities from Achipur to Bawali. Better to come by Car.

Unfortunately, a large number of soldiers lose their lives due to extreme cold while serving the nation. Soldiers are required to undergo a hard training before being deployed at Siachen. They are trained in mountaineering, ice climbing, survival techniques etc. They wear high-quality thermal clothes. Many soldiers find it difficult to sleep in such conditions. Even their guns get freeze, so the arms are covered with special material. The water freezes instantly; so it is required to melt down with help of fire. Even diesel and kerosine freeze under such conditions. All the vegetables, fruits, juices and eggs turn solid ice and are required to be heated up in warm water.
