Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is a sea-crossing passage between Huangdao District, Chengyang District, Licang District and Jiaozhou City in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China. It is located on Jiaozhou Bay and is one of the important components of Shandong Provincial Expressway Network ( No.: Lu Expressway S85), it is also one of the components of the main road in the northwest of Qingdao urban area
Jiaozhou Bay Bridge starts from Licun River in the east, crosses Jiaozhou Bay on the top, connects with Hongdao Interchange in the middle, and reaches Huangdao East Hub in the west; the total length of the line is 42.23 kilometers, and the total length of the bridge is 31.630 kilometers; the bridge deck is two-way six Lane highway, design speed 80 km/h

Design Parameters
The main line of the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is about 26.707 kilometers long, of which the cross-sea bridge is 25.881 kilometers long, the Huangdao side connection is 0.827 kilometers long, and the Hongdao connection line is 1.3 kilometers long.
The Cangkou Channel Bridge adopts (80+90+260+90+80) meter span arrangement, the distance between the separated cable towers is 30.5 meters, the distance between the cable towers is 20.6 meters, and the cable tower is 82.5 meters high, with a total of 64 bridges. stay cable.

he city's name in Chinese characters literally means azure island.[2] Located on China's Yellow Sea coast, it is a major nodal city of the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) Initiative that connects Asia with Europe.[3] It has the highest GDP of any city in the province. Administered at the sub-provincial level,[4] Qingdao has jurisdiction over seven districts and three county-level cities (Jiaozhou, Pingdu, Laixi). As of the 2020 census, Qingdao built-up (or metro) area made of the 7 urban Districts (Shinan, Shibei, Huangdao, Laoshan, Licang, Chengyang and Jimo) was home to 7,172,451 inhabitants. Lying across the Shandong Peninsula and looking out to the Yellow Sea, it borders the prefecture-level cities of Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southwest.
Qingdao is a major seaport and naval base, as well as a commercial and financial center. It is home to electronics multinationals such as Haier and Hisense. The Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, links the main urban area of Qingdao with Huangdao district, straddling the Jiaozhou Bay sea areas. Its historic German-style architecture and Tsingtao Brewery, the second largest brewery in China[5] are legacies of the German occupation (1898-1914).
In the 2020 Global Financial Centers Index, Qingdao ranked 47th; the index is published by the Z/Yen Group and China Development Institute, the other Chinese cities on the list being Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Nanjing, Xi'an, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Dalian, and Wuhan.[6] In 2007, Qingdao was named as one of China's top ten cities by the Chinese Cities Brand Value Report, which was released at the 2007 Beijing Summit of China Cities Forum.[7] In 2009, Qingdao was named China's most livable city by the Chinese Institute of City Competitiveness.[8][9] In 2018, Qingdao held the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.[10] In 2020, Qingdao was rated as a Gamma+ level global city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network.[11]
Qingdao is also one of the world's top 100 cities for global scientific research as tracked by the Nature Index.[12] The city is home to several notable universities, including the Ocean University of China, China University of Petroleum, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Qingdao University, Qingdao University of Science and Technology Qingdao University of Technology, and Qingdao Agricultural University.[13]

Qīng in Chinese means green or lush, while dǎo means island.
Qingdao is a major seaport, naval base, and industrial centre. The world's longest sea bridge, the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, links the main urban area of Qingdao with Huangdao district, straddling the Jiaozhou Bay sea areas. It is also the site of the Tsingtao Brewery, the second largest brewery in China.
In 2016, Qingdao ranks 79th in the Global Financial Centres Index published by the Z/Yen Group and Qatar Financial Centre Authority, the other Chinese cities on the list being Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing and Dalian. Jiaozhou Bay Bridge (or Qingdao Haiwan Bridge) is a 26.7 km (16.6 mi) long roadway bridge in eastern China's Shandong province, which is part of the 41.58 km (25.84 mi) Jiaozhou Bay Connection Project.[1] The longest continuous segment of the bridge is 25.9 km (16.1 mi)., making it one of the longest bridges in the world.
The Jiaozhou Bay Bridge transects Jiaozhou Bay, which reduces the road distance between Qingdao and Huangdao by 30 km (19 mi), compared with the expressway along the coast of the bay, reducing travel time by 20 to 30 minutes. The design of the bridge is T-shaped with the main entry and exit points in Huangdao and the Licang District of Qingdao. A branch to Hongdao Island is connected by a semi-directional T interchange to the main span.The construction used 450,000 tons of steel and 2.3 million cubic metres (81×106 cu ft) of concrete.The bridge is designed to be able to withstand severe earthquakes, typhoons, and collisions from ships.[4] It is supported by 5,238 concrete piles.[6] The cross section consists of two beams in total 35 m (115 ft) wide carrying six lanes with two shoulders.

Qingdao is perhaps the most beautiful coastal city in China, and boasts some spectacular beaches, historic European architecture, pleasant weather, and delicious seafood.
While human settlement dates back around 6,000 years ago, the face of the city changed drastically when German naval officers occupied Qingdao in the late 19th century. Railroads and ports were developed, but the Germans also built schools and churches. They even built a brewery, which over time became one of China’s largest beer producers, Tsingtao. Some of these buildings have been preserved, and provide a striking contrast with the more modern face of Qingdao.
In this aerial video, I will show you some of these buildings, but also fly over the modern business district and skyline, and some more traditional pagoda style structures. The scenic beaches and rolling green hills and mountains are some of the highlights of Qingdao, and are visibly stunning. The city, however, is also a major industrial and commercial hub, with a massive port, connected via the 25.9 kilometer long Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, one of the largest in the world.
I studied in Qingdao for one semester in 2010, and had the chance to travel and visit the city again in 2019. This time I took my drone to capture some of the main sights and landscapes in this fascinating city.

WORLD'S LONGEST SEA BRIDGE.
Construction began in 2005 and opened on June 30, 2011 as a bridge connecting Qingdao and Huangdao in Shandong Province, China. It is the world's longest sea bridge with a total length of 41.58km.
It is also known as Qingdao Haaiwan Bridge or Zhaozhou Wan Quahai Bridge. Zhao, starting in the center of Qingdao, Shandong Province, ChinaThe construction began in May 2007 and opened on June 30, 2011, as a maritime bridge that runs through the waters of Zhouman to Hwangdao. The total length is 41.58 kilometers, which is about 3.2 kilometers longer than the Causeway Bridge (38.4 kilometers in total length) across Lake Ponchartrain in New Orleans, Louisiana, the world's longest maritime bridge. It is 35m wide and has six round-trip lanes, and was designed as China's first three-dimensional maritime intersection. Along with the bridge, a 9.47km-long undersea tunnel was also completed under the sea. The total construction cost was 9.53 billion yuan (about 1.65 trillion won).
With the opening of the bridge, it is estimated that about 35,000 vehicles will be used a day, and the driving distance between Qingdao and Hwangdao will be shortened by about 30km, reducing the operating time from 40 minutes to 20 minutes. In addition, it is the starting point of the highway connecting Qingdao with Lanzhou in western Gansu Province, China, and the overland distance from Ningbo in Zhejiang Province to Shanghai will be shortened by 120km.
