I started walking from the railway station, walk through the Christmas market, and then start heading back towards eastern side of city centre. Hailuoto, Finland; August 2011
We went to Finland last summer, and we truly loved it.
We first arrived to Helsinki then we moved up north with our cars. The landscapes were just amazing and the sun didnt seem like setting.
I must admit that the nicest place was Oulu and the island called Hailuoto, which floats on the Gulf of Bothnia, in front of Oulu itself.
I took some beautiful photos I wanted to share with you all who love travelling. I truly recommend everyone who enjoy travelling to visit such a handsome Country.
The music you hear were composed by Coldplay; The first one's called Parachute and the latter is Postcard from far away. They seem to me to describe best the feelings and emotions we had. :)

Opening of Aleksanterinkatu Christmas Street 2019
The Christmas season traditionally begins in Helsinki with the opening of the Christmas Street, which takes place this year on Sunday 24 November.
The opening ceremonies include the eagerly anticipated switching on of the Christmas lights along Aleksanterinkatu.
The event begins at 2pm at Senate Square with a charity market where visitors can find Christmas treats, such as Christmas porridge, mulled wine and pastries.
Santa Claus will arrive at Senate Square aboard a historic tram and switch on the Christmas lights at 4 pm. After that a Christmas Parade will proceed along the streets Unioninkatu, Aleksanterinkatu, Mannerheimintie and Pohjoisesplanadi, where visitors will have the chance to see Santa and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere.
