[Riding] A hot summer's day in Jakobsberg (Sweden) (17 June, 2023)
Let's take a ride through Jakobsberg, which is located north-west of Stockholm. This was one scorcher of a day so had to stop a few times to replenish my energy. Note that the camera at one point came lose and I didn't notice until a minute or so later. Oh well.

10 SUPERBENCHES in the Stockholm Suburb of Järfälla
In a satellite suburb of Stockholm, an innovative two-year-long initiative is attempting to challenge the status quo through intelligent competition and design briefs. The Kalejdohill project—located in Järfälla, led by creative director Andreas Angelidakis and developed in public-private partnership with three Swedish developers (HSB, Norra, and Stor-Stockholm)—has completed a series of open international competitions and local interventions in and around Kvarnbacken Park, a small patch of green surrounded by homes and businesses. Once-neglected, it now finds itself at the heart of a rapidly expanding urban conurbation with somewhere between 600 and 800 housing units posited for its immediate vicinity.
As the latest in a string of supra-spatial projects to take on Kvarnbacken—including “Desire Lines” and “Lights”—SUPERBENCHES has pooled together a collection of world-renowned designers in the spirit of experimentation. The design and construction of ten park benches, conceived by ten design practices, has been overseen by US-based creative director and writer Felix Burrichter. For Burrichter, this project is primarily a “community incubator” for “a new, diverse neighborhood,” which isn’t yet built.

Västerås is one of the oldest cities in Sweden and Northern Europe. The city had a population of 127,799 at the end of 2019 and is located 100 kilometres (62 miles) west of Stockholm.

A walk around Viksjö (Järfälla) (Sweden) (2022) | 4k
Time for a 104 min trip into another one of my old neighborhoods. We used to live in Viksjö back in 1981-1982 and I went to a school nearby, who still has it's own dragon in the schoolyard. Way cool. One thing I've never done though is to walk, or ride around the areas, so almost everything was new to me.

Travel between T-Centralen and Waldemarsudde. During the day it is 6-8 minutes between the departures. Other times, the frequency varies between 10 and 30 minutes. After midnight, the carriage turns at Skansen.

Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.
