A Visit to TOLUCA, Estado de Mexico
In this episode, we visit the capital city of the State of Mexico, Toluca de Lerdo, or just Toluca. Toluca gets a bad rap in CDMX, but we think it's somewhat unfair. Being so close in proximity to Mexico City, this little big city naturally suffers by comparison to its cosmopolitan neighbor to the east, but it offers a very different experience. Toluca is nestled in a mountainous pine forest and is much colder than most of Mexico, being the highest altitude capital city in North America.

Visitando La Marquesa / Valle Recreativo El Zarco - Diana y Aarón (DYA)
El Parque Nacional Insurgente Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla conocido popularmente como La Marquesa se encuentra en la Delegación Cuajimalpa de Morelos en la Ciudad de México y los municipios de Ocoyoacac, Huixquilucan y Lerma en el estado de México, establecido por Decreto Presidencial el 9 de septiembre de 1936, con una extensión de 1,760 hectáreas, 1,602 de ellas en el estado de México.
Al encontrarse en la sierra que divide los valles de México y Toluca y compartir frontera con el Parque nacional Desierto de los Leones, cuenta con varios atractivos naturales como es un bosque de coníferas de gran altura, por lo cual crecen gran cantidad de plantas todo el año, con una gran presencia de fauna natural aunque recelosa ante la presencia humana, por lo que solo se le pueden ver en los parajes más lejanos del parque, como son los cerros cercanos a San Miguel donde hace frontera con el Desierto de los Leones.
El parque se encuentra a unos 2,800 m.s.n.m. en sus partes más bajas y unos 3,000 m.s.n.m. en sus cimas más elevadas, su clima es semifrío-subhúmedo por lo que es común que se presenten nevadas los meses de diciembre, enero y febrero. Con lluvias en verano y temperaturas extremas de 25 °C a -2 °C, durante todo el año y una media de 12 °C

Ride Day 19: Guadalajara to Mexico City, Mexico
Full Post: After one night only in Guadalajara, I set my day to ride the 340 miles (547 Kilometres) to Mexico City on Ruta 60 for most of the way. This journey included a lot of toll roads and on my way from the Pacific on the West Coast of Mexico to the Gulf of Mexico on the east coast.
Again I had the great pleasure of meeting some interesting people including a few Mexicans riding around their country on adventure bikes. The people I have met throughout Mexico have been fantastic and always willing to help with directions, and nice adventure roads and these guys were no exceptions.
And the food, seriously, I was never a big fan of tacos until I got into Mexico. The locals just know how to make amazing street food, cheap, filling and delicious!
I will be sad to leave Mexico, as it has just so much to offer the adventure rider and there are just too many places to visit. It seemed every single town had a unique vibe and some of the bui8kldings, especially the old churches just reminded me so much of some of the old western movies I had watched as a kid. Gosh I love Mexico.
Mexico City
Mexico City is huge; you just cannot appreciate the scale of the place unless you drive into it. From the It is also one of the highest elevation capitals in the world at 3,930 m (12,890 ft). I visited the slums during the day and also was in the city during the Day of the Dead Festival with colorful street art seemingly for miles.
I spent a day riding the city going from the slums to the gorgeous tree-lined streets of the inner city suburbs.
I also took the time to get my bike serviced there and the guys at KTM Mexico City were fantastic and looked after my bike and all its gear wonderfully. They have a modern showroom and workshop, really impressive!
Mexico City has something for everyone. Yes, the traffic is a nightmare at times and can be confusing as Google Maps isn't perfect there (some one-way streets not noticed), but it was good enough to get me out and about and back home safely.
Today's journey took me from Guadalajara through Tonalá, La Barca, Churintzio, Panindícuaro, Huaniqueo de Morales, Arúmbaro, Valle de Juárez, Maravatío de Ocampo, Estación Tultenango, Atlacomulco, Ixtlahuaca de Rayón, Huixquilucan de Degollado and onto my final destination for a few days to Mexico City, Mexico

Es principalmente una ciudad industrial que conurba con Metepec, uno de los municipios más ricos del país. El valle de Toluca cuenta con una base infraestructural de buen nivel.

Centro Ceremonial Otomí - Estado de México 2016
El Centro Ceremonial Otomi, esta ubicado en el municipio de Temoaya, a 37 kilómetros de la ciudad de Toluca, Estado de México.
El Parque que encuentra ubicado dentro de la superficie que comprende el Área Natural Protegida Parque Ecológico, Turistico y Recreativo Xempoala La Bufa denominado Parque Otomí Mexica.
Para su diseño, los constructores del Centro Ceremonial Otomí se inspiraron en los elementos característicos de la arquitectura prehispánica del centro de México, elementos como grandes escalinatas, taludes y plazas a los cuales se sumó la expresión plástica contemporánea con diversas esculturas de grandes dimensiones que crean en conjunto un sitio de gran personalidad y evocador misticismo.
El Centro Ceremonial Otomí se ubica a una altura de 2,800 m.s.n.m, goza de un clima frío y cuanta con la siguiente fauna silvestre: conejo, ardilla, tuza, rata de campo, aguililla y otras aves de variados tamaños y colores, se han sumado a estos venado cola blanca, borrego de peliguey entre otros y que se encuentran en cautiverio, también se encuentra un estanque donde se crían variedades de trucha, patos y gansos.
Las actividades que se pueden realizar son:
• Días de campo
• Excursiones
• Campismo
• Recorridos culturales
• Caminata
• Ceremonia Otomí, cada primer domingo de mes.
Horario:
10:00 a 17:00 horas
$20 pesos boleto de admisión adulto.

Mini Recorrido en El Oro, Estado de México 4K
A 8 km del Pueblo Mágico de Tlalpujahua, se encuentra otro Pueblo Mágico llamado El Oro de Hidalgo perteneciente al Estado de México.
El pueblo produce desde hace más de 100 años una peculiar bebida llamada Chiva, que es de color esmeralda y hecha a base de anís y hierbas. Los mineros de finales del siglo XIX y XX, le atribuían propiedades de cura para los sustos y corajes, que les ocasionaba el trabajo extenuante al interior de las minas. Actualmente se considera un digestivo o remedio que ayuda a aliviar dolores, cólicos y otros males. La cocina local también ofrece barbacoa y carnitas; o bien mole, rojo o verde, con carne de guajolote.
Ente las artesanías que se ofrecen para compras y recuerdos de viaje están: la cerámica, los cestos tejidos, los dulces regionales, las esferas navideñas, muebles, orfebrería, pailería, y prendas y objetos decorativos teñidos en lana.
