Sorsogon is a Philippine province in the Bicol Region, located on the southernmost tip of Luzon Island and blessed with spectacular tourism attractions. Irosin Lake [Sorsogon] || across the Yonneeverse
For the past several years, the lake was used only as a place where carabaos would dip and cool their bodies (lab-ugan, in Bicol), and occasionally, where some local residents would fish. Today, the present administration is committed to develop the eco-#tourism potentials of this place. Set amid a tranquil lush vegetation with a magnificent view of Bulusan Volcano as a backdrop, #Irosin Lake is an enchanting place where one can commune with nature unperturbed. Endemic flora and fauna have been identified by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and plans include the possibility of making the place as an on-site classroom for students via educational tours. Currently, the lake offers kayaking and boating activities and features amenities that include cottages, a function hall and an administration building. The Department of Agriculture is likewise currently utilizing a part of the lake for cultivation of tilapia seedlings. The present administration plans to include a joggers’ and bikers’ lane around the lake, and possibly, even a zipline.

???? This side trip came out at a very minute because my original plan was just to stay in Legazpi City but my feet brought me here, The Province of Sorsogon.
???? I took a van from Legazpi Grand Central Terminal to Sorsogon City for 2 hours, rode a jeep to Gubat, then a tricycle to Lola Sayong Eco-Surf Camp. The place is a perfect getaway to chill and relax while listening to the waves and the breeze of the ocean. ????????♂️
From the camp, I took a jeep to Barcelona, a quite town facing the Pacific Ocean named after Catalan’s Capital - Barcelona in Spain. You will also see the old Municipal Hall and St. Joseph Parish which was built during the Spanish Occupation.
From Barcelona, I took another jeep to Bulusan proper where I had my lunch in a small restaurant in the town proper.
Upon asking the locals around, I learned that it is not possible to commute to Lake Bulusan, I then hailed a tricycle who will take me to the lake then to Irosin.
On our way to Irosin, we passed by Masacrot Cold Spring then we continued to Irosin proper where I bought pili nuts from Vicky's Pili Food Products (Irosin’s Best). I munched a few pili nuts, hailed a tricycle to San Mateo Hot and Cold Spring where I felt relaxed from the therapeutic waters from the foothills of Mt. Bulusan. ????????♂️
Now it’s time to go back to Albay, l waited at a terminal near Irosin Marker with Mt. Bulusan in the background then took a jeep to Sorsogon. I dropped by the Capitol then took a Van back to Legazpi.

2️⃣ In the past, the Municipal Hall of Barcelona serves as fortress during wars and from raiding pirates. It also has an underground access to the church. The structure was destroyed by a strong typhoon and was no longer restored.
3️⃣ Learn to interact with the locals for tips and directions.
4️⃣ Commuting is very easy as there are jeepneys that travels from one town to the other.
5️⃣ When you rent a tricycle, haggle for you to get the best deal.

Discover the Beautiful Irosin in Sorsogon!
Irosin is a second-class, and the only land-locked, municipality in the province of Sorsogon, Philippines. Irosin a small town in Sorsogon that crouches an active volcano ... It has a lot of spring resorts, eco-sites & panoramic views. The most popular festivals that are held yearly in Irosin include the Santacruzan, the feast day of the town’s patron saint, Saint Michael Archangel, and the village fiesta. There is also the popular Paray Festival, where people have a demonstration of thanksgiving for the graces and good harvest they had.
Tourism all over the world is said to be seasonal. But, with Irosin tourism knows no season because of It's Hot and Cold Springs Resort, which offers therapeutic effects and unique opportunities for swimming in cold and hot natural springs all in one place.
How to get there?
From Manila, you can take a bus that is bound for Bulan or Matnog, which will pass by Irosin. You can also take those that stops at the Sorsogon City Central Bus Terminal, and from here, you can take a jeepney that will take passengers to the different towns of the province, which include Irosin.
