Brunnen Switzerland 4k Video Lake Lucerne
Brunnen is a beautiful holiday resort in Switzerland and nestled between the Lake Lucerne and Rigi and Fronalpstock mountains. Brunnen is an ideal starting point for all kinds of excursions in central Switzerland. The village is one of the most important tourist destinations on Lake Lucerne after Lucerne.
The village was already very important in the Middle Ages for the trade in goods over the Gotthard route and was a loading point for the important trade with Italy.
The historic Axen road, built along rugged cliffs on the eastern shore of the Lake of Uri, has connected Brunnen with Flüelen since 1865.

Brunnen, Switzerland 4K - A lovely village by beautiful Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee)
In this video we will explore Brunnen, a beautiful village situated in the heart of Switzerland. Brunnen lies directly on beautiful Lake Lucerne, nestling between the Urmiberg and Stoos-Fronalstock and facing the Rütli and Schillerstein mountains in the heart of William Tell country. Thanks to its central location amidst a diverse mountain and lakeside scenery, Brunnen is an ideal starting point for excursions in central Switzerland.
Keen walkers should include a few stages of the ‘Swiss Path’ (Weg der Schweiz), a famous thematic hiking trail around the Urnersee: it begins at Rütli, the birthplace of the Federation of Swiss Cantons 1291, and ends in Brunnen. You can see the ending point of the trail in the video at 9:10 .
There are scheduled boats at each of the towns along the trail for the return journey. Strong cyclists will enjoy the 40 km tour around Mythen.

Gersau Switzerland 4K Beautiful Place Lake Lucerne
Gersau is a wonderful and unique holiday resort in Switzerland at the Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne). Gersau is very sunny and is protected from cool winds by the Rigi and the Gersauerstock to the north and Lake Lucerne to the southand and is located between the villages of Vitznau and Brunnen.
From the 15th century until 1817, the formerly isolated Gersau was a small republic free of the empire, before the place was assigned to the canton of Schwyz, against its will. The history of independence is told in the historical museum, the beautiful former parish hall.
In summer, the area around Gersau offers many hiking opportunities, but thanks to its location on the water, there are also two lidos to cool off in the lake. Don't miss out on a trip on one of the majestic Lake Lucerne paddle steamers.

Brunnen is a resort on Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, part of the municipality Ingenbohl (Canton of Schwyz), at 46°59′44″N 8°36′17″ECoordinates: 46°59′44″N 8°36′17″E.
Brunnen railway station, on the Gotthard railway, is served by hourly InterRegio trains, and by lines S2 of the Stadtbahn Zug, which operates hourly between Zug, Arth-Goldau and Erstfeld, and S3 of the S-Bahn Luzern, which operates hourly to Lucerne.

Weggis, Switzerland 4K - The most charming Swiss village in Lake Lucerne
Do you want to see how summer looks like in Switzerland? Come with us in a walking tour in Weggis, a small, idyllic holiday resort that lies at an altitude of 435 metres on the shore of Lake Lucerne and at the foot of the renowned Rigi. Weggis offers tranquillity and relaxation in front of a beautiful lake and mountain panorama. The region on the southern flank of the Rigi is often termed the ‘Riviera’ of central Switzerland.
“The most charming place…“ It is true. Even in the past, many people raved about Weggis: above all, the American author and travel writer Mark Twain. In 1897 he wrote that Weggis was the “loveliest place” he had ever visited.
The climate in Weggis is extremely mild and the resort usually benefits from many sunny days. On certain days, the presence of the ‘föhn’, a warm down wind, leads to particularly clear views across Lake Lucerne. The Rigi, thanks to its position embedded between the Zugersee, Lauerzersee and Lake Lucerne, offers outstanding views and is a popular walking region.
Before mountain rail- and cableways were constructed on the Rigi, Weggis was already an important starting point for sedan chair bearers who carried their affluent guests up to the summit from here. Since the construction of a panoramic cableway from Weggis to Rigi Kaltbad, this has been the fastest way to ascend the «Queen of the mountains» from Lucerne. By this route, it takes just under 10 minutes to reach the vista-rich resort of Rigi Kaltbad at 1450 metres above sea level from the lakeshore. Still part of the parish area of Weggis, Rigi Kaltbad is the villagey centre of the island of sunshine and holiday experiences that is the Rigi. From Rigi Kaltbad, a rack railway leads further up to Rigi-Kulm.

The name Vierwaldstättersee is translated as “a lake of four forest cantons” and is due to the fact that in the past four cantons were located on the shores of the lake: Uri, Schwyz, Unterwalden and Lucerne. Later the Unterwalden canton was divided into two half-cantons (Obwalden and Nidwalden), but the name of the lake did not change.

Brunnen also has a cablecar that goes to the Urmiberg, a part of the Rigi offering views of Lake Lucerne and the Alps.
Winston Churchill spent his honeymoon in Brunnen.
J.M.W. Turner painted several views from Brunnen, among his late watercolors, in the 1840s.
In 1947, the Swiss League for the Protection of Nature organized an international conference on the protection of nature in Brunnen.
