Karbala or Kerbala (Arabic: كَرْبَلَاء, romanized: Karbalāʾ [karbaˈlaːʔ], /ˈkɑːrbələ/ KAR-bə-lə, also US: /ˌkɑːrbəˈlɑː/ KAR-bə-LAH;) is a city in central Iraq, located about 100 km (62 mi) southwest of Baghdad, and a few miles east of Lake Milh, also known as Razzaza Lake.Karbala is the capital of Karbala Governorate, and has an estimated population of 700,000 people (2015).
The city, best known as the location of the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE, or the shrines of Imam Husayn and Abbas, is considered a holy city for Shia Muslims, in the same way as Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. Tens of millions of Shi'ite Muslims visit the site twice a year, rivaling Mecca and Mashhad by the number of pilgrims annually.The martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali is commemorated annually by millions of Shi'ites. Up to 8 million pilgrims visit the city to observe ʿĀshūrāʾ (the tenth day of the month of Muharram), which marks the anniversary of Husayn's death, but the main event is the Arbaʿīn (the 40th day after 'Ashura'), where up to 30 million visit the graves. Most of the pilgrims travel on foot from all around Iraq and more than 56 countries

Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (Arabic: عَلِيّ ٱبْن مُوسَىٰ ٱلرِّضَا, romanized: Alī ibn Mūsā al-Riḍā, c. 1 January 766 – 6 June 818), also known as Abū al-Ḥasan al-Thānī, was a descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and the eighth Imam in Twelver Shia Islam, succeeding his father, Musa al-Kazim. He is also part of the chain of mystical authority in Shia Sufi orders. He was known for his piety and learning, and a number of works are attributed to him, including Al-Risala al-Dhahabia, Sahifa al-Rida, and Fiqh al-Rida. Uyun al-Akhbar al-Rida by Ibn Babawayh is a comprehensive collection that includes the religious debates, sayings, biographical details, and even the miracles which have occurred at his tomb.

This is just before i lest iraq for Pakistan, i have more Iraq vlogs coming up! Finally after a couple of years of this place being closed, i was able to go! I had hoped to make a decent Vlog , but i wasnt allowed without paying 600,000 iraqi Dinar! The woman that worked there said it was ok , but her boss said i couldnt unless i paid and he then sent someone to follow me the whole time i was there, literally standing behind me the whole time,i was allowed to take photos but not video.....i saw plenty others video with their phones, openly too… but being followed the whole time made it kinda difficult, the nice woman that worked there told me to video what i could anyway,so i tried my best! i had someone volunteer for the arabic subs! which im so grateful for !
