Ikaalinen is a city and municipality part of the Pirkanmaa region, located 55 kilometres northwest of Tampere. The town has a population of 6,783 (28 February 2023) and covers an area of 843.40 square kilometres (325.64 sq mi) of which 93.16 km2 (35.97 sq mi) is water. Ikaalinen became an independent municipality in 1641. The associated market town was founded in 1858. The market town and the municipality were united in 1972 and Ikaalinen became a town in 1977.
Walk begins from Ikaalinen chuch built in 1801 towards the old market town area and from there to the lake shore and back towards the church.

Ikaalinen, FInland | Best Education System in the world | Happiest country to live
They said Finland has the best education system in the world. Being a student here in Finland we were able to visit their day care and elementary school. We had found out how perfect their system of education is. Kids at the very young age are exposed not only with technology but also skills that they can use through their adult life. We have seen the difference of our education system back home. We saw and personally experienced how dedicated the teachers are on teaching and making sure that students are learning. Physically and mentally challenge students are treated with a different approach. They have their own therapist which is free of charge. The school directors are making sure that all students are treated fairly and they make sure that all students are all taken cared of. Now I understand why Finland has the best education system in the world and why Finland is the happiest country to live.

Manso Camping ja Etelä-Pohjanmaan halkiajo – Kesäreissu matkailuautolla 2021 osa1
Heinäkuussa teimme matkailuautolla puolentoista viikon kotimaanreissun ilman ennakkosuunnitelmia. Alkuperäisenä ajatuksena oli käydä paikoissa, joissa emme ole ennen käyneet. Ensimmäiseksi yöksi päädyimme Ikaalisiin pieneen symppikseen Manso campingiin. Siitä matka jatkui Kihniön kautta eteenpäin Etelä-Pohjanmaan halki. Kävimme esimerkiksi vilkuilemassa Kauhavan lentokonepuistoa.

Summer cottage for a weekend in Finland with friends and family.
Last weekend we were really fortunate to get together with our friends and their families at the summer cottage. We rented cottages next to Kyrösjärvi lake in Ikaalinen. Weekend was full of countryside fun: mushroom picking, boating, dancing in the rain. We had to skip sauna this time because our family had a flue.
ACCOMMODATION
Renting a cottage in Finland for a weekend/week or more is very easy. There are plenty of web-sites in Finnish and English. Here are some examples to help you.
FOOD
If you are coming to a cottage during autumn, remember to take some ingredients for mushroom dishes. You most probably going to find some good mushrooms, so it would be nice to cook it for a dinner. We didn’t take anything like that. It was good that our friends had some and I could cook up a meal from mushrooms for everyone.
Also, NEVER eat mushroom you are unsure about. Better safe than sorry.
