Freiburg, Germany is one of the best cities to visit in Germany, hidden in the southwest part of the country Freiburg is the most sunny city in Germany. You have incredible people, beautiful black forest hikes, and the munster is a great place to visit. Also, be careful you don't fall into a bachle as that water on the side of the road could mean you might be marrying someone from Freiburg in your future.

Places to see in ( Freiburg - Germany ) Seepark
The Seepark is a park in the district Betzenhausen of Freiburg im Breisgau which was constructed for the Landesgartenschau in 1986. It is a local recreation area, covering 35 hectares, and contains the Flückigersee, an artificial lake which takes up about 10 hectares. In the northeastern part of the park is the 15-meter tall Seepark Tower.
The area now taken up by the Seepark used to be used for agriculture. However, the soil was not well-suited for growing good grain. In the 1920s, the company Flückiger started removing sand and gravel from the grounds. In the 1970s, Flückiger's operation ended, in order for the area to be used as a parking lot.
In 1986, the successful application to hold the Landesgartenschau in Freiburg led to the redesign of the grounds, leaving the park in its current form. The Landesgartenschau had roughly two million visitors. In 1990, the park was expanded to include a 3600 m² Japanese garden to the West of the park, as part of a partnership with the Japanese city Matsuyama. In the eastern part of the park is a rose garden, which was added in 2011. It was named the Eugen Martin Anlage after the founder and citizen of honor, Eugen Theodor Martin.

Although it rained almost every day for the two weeks we were there, it was still a great trip due to excellent staff, accommodations, and food. It was worth the trip even with the rain, which the Rhine needed anyway after the worse drought in 60 years. Unfortunately, the overcast skies do not make for bright shiny photos and videos, I do not adjust them. This is what we saw so this is what we show.

Breisach Christmas Market 2022 - Our Day in Port - Christmas Markets River Cruise
Day 4 of our Christmas Markets River Cruise in Breisach. This small city has a rich and sometimes disturbing history. Its fascinating to explore with a knowledgeable tour guide. We also took in the fabulous Geldermann winery which makes some delicious sparkling wines.
However the Christmas Market in the town was very disappointing. It was tiny with only 12 stalls. It also didnt open until 4pm, just 2.5 hrs before the ship had to leave port. Not sure this warrants a place on anyone's Christmas Markets itinerary.

Endingen am Kaiserstuhl
Am Kaiserstuhl, zwischen 182 und 492 m.ü.d.M, liegt Endingen umgeben von Reben, Wäldern und sanften Bergen und Hügeln. Die historische Altstadt mit Restaurants, Cafés und Geschäften ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel. Aber auch die Fahrt ins Umland lohnt. Freiburg in Germany is a popular destination for Christmas market lovers.
Freiburg is located on the edge of the Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg.
The Christmas Market in Freiburg runs every year from around the 20th of November up till Xmas day. The market is held around the Freiburg Cathedral and the streets leading off it.
You will find local crafts, Christmas gifts, food and drinks on sale everywhere. The local Ghluhwine (hot mulled wine) is very popular on the cold winter nights of the Freiburg Christmas Market.

This shows a driver's view of our Viking bus ride through Ihringen, Germany on June 27, 2016 with narrator and tour guide Jack as we are on our way to the Black Forest. This was one of the small German towns we went through during this tour and small German towns are usually delightful to see. This one was no exception. Highly recommend the Viking Rhine Getaway Cruise--the Black Forest tour is an included tour on that cruise and it is wonderful. Jack was a great tour guide and we really enjoyed his knowledge and enthusiasm. This was our first tour of that cruise and it was delightful and got everything off to a great start.

This shows mainly a driver's view of our Viking Cruises narrated bus ride with Jack as tour guide from Breisach, Germany to and through Ihringen, Germany on June 27, 2016. This was the first leg of our Black Forest included tour and this was one of the best tours on the entire Rhine Getaway Cruise. Highly recommend this cruise.

These are German farm fields along Hwy. L114 in western Germany between the towns of Breisach and Ihringen as they looked on June 26, 2016. We are headed towards Hofgut Sternen and the Black Forest in a Viking Cruises Mercedes tour bus and Jack is narrating. When I have the time, I plan to do a combined video comparing these fields with some French ones along the A35 to see what differences if any one can discern from just driving by. Main difference I noticed thus far is a lot of the French fields had center pivots and I didn't see any of those along this highway that I recall.
