Попала в конце августа 2022 в Игналину. Жара была +30, последние теплые дни перед началом осени. Очень живописная природа здесь, много озер, людей мало. Достопримечательностей не много, но сам город очень уютный.
What to do in Marijampolė, Lithuania? | Via Baltica
Welcome to Marijampolė, Lithuanian city perfect for a stop while driving through Via Baltica highway. Capital of historical Suvalkija region Marijampolė greets its visitors with an amazing synergy of old and new. City's old town is decorated with contemporary art murals from the yearly international festival Malonny. At the same time the city is famous for its Marian monastery and the basilica of St. Michael the archangel. What a contrast ????
Outside the city there also is some beautiful nature at Žuvintas Biosphere Reserve, with 2 cognitive trails available. ????????????

Visaginas: Lithuania's Nuclear Town ????????
???????? Since Lithuania gained it's independence in 1991 it has removed as much of its Soviet past as it possibly could unlike in other post-Soviet republics where there are constant reminders of the USSR around every corner. However in the north of the country lies the town of Visaginas where I was told I could find the last remaining Soviet mosaic ( kind of ). Join me as I head north to see how life is in Visaginas which was built to house the workers from the nearby atomic power station and maybe meet some babushkas on the way.

Hi, here's another municipality video - Kelmė district located in the west of Lithuania in the lands of Samogitia.
It was my first time visiting it and it genuinely surprised me, how beautiful and taken care of the district is. The locals were so friendly and the amount of local sights were also just too many - I enjoyed every bit of the trip.
Tytuvėnai Regional Park alone is worth staying the night to enjoy its surroundings well.

Welcome Mažeikiai district, Lithuania, one of the furthest places to go to from Vilnius. It's worth getting there, as the district has plenty of interesting sights to see: the only in Lithuania Gramophone museum, authentic XIX century pharmacy - museum, the home of the pioneer of Lithuanian aviation, the beautiful Renavas manor house and much more!
Mažeikiai district really impressed me, even though it was so far to drive to. It took me 2 days to see all the sights and I think it would be a great addition to a trip through Samogitia, combined with the nearby Akmenė district or Samogitia capital Telšiai.

Land Of The Lakes, Paluse, Ignalina Lithuania
THE LAND OF LAKES. Lithuania is a laky country: our country has more than 3000 lakes. Apparently, you can't visit them all while coming to Lithuania, but what you can do is to travel around the most beautiful and prominent of them. In particular, you will find many lakes in Ignalina district. The mound overlooks a magnificent view with as many as six lakes surrounded by forests. Lithuanians are very fond of water. In lakes, they go swimming, fishing, water biking, boating, or canoeing. In winter, they go skiing or skating on the frozen ice. Lithuania's largest lake is Druksiai. Its catchment area covers the surrounding creeks, coastal wetlands and forests. The lake is surrounded with many types of rare vegetation not only in Lithuania but also throughout Europe, and the lake itself is valuable as a habitat of rare birds, crustaceans and fish species. In addition, the history tells a story of a majestic castle that was once standing in the island of Druksiai

Ignalina District Arachitecture
Manor Of Meikštai
Meikštai Manor has been mentioned even from the 18th century. At that time, this ensemble, as inheritance, went from the Naruševičiai to Augustinas Vavžeckis. In the late 19th century, the Manor owner Simonas Meištovičius built a building in the style of Neo-Gothic castle that survived into our days. In terms of architecture this building is quite unique.

Manor Of Dukstas
Dūkštas Manor, known from the 16th century, was owned by different landlords – the appearance of its buildings changed over time. The Dūkštas Manor House, which was built in the 18th century, acquired its present appearance in the first half of the 19th century, when the Manor was owned by the Beganskiai family.

Church Of Visitation Of Holy Virgin Mary In Vidiškės
In 1828, the owner of the Vidiškiai Manor, Jonas Kaminskas, built the church and paid for the priest’s upkeep. In 1901, the grandson of the owner of the Manor, also Jonas Kaminskas, built the present stone church. In 1906 it was consecrated and given the title of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary by Vilnius bishop Edvardas Roppas. In 1933, on the initiative of the priest Zigmas Žeidžys, with the help of parishioners, the church was repaired and its roof replaced.

Vidiškės Manor House
The ensemble of Vidiškiai Manor was built in the second half of the 18th-19th century. The object was mentioned for the first time in 1782, when the then owner N. Ragoža received from Vilnius Diocese a permit to build a chapel in the territory of the Manor. The Manor had 19 economic and residential houses: The Manor House, single-storeyed, wooden, having features of Classical style, 6 residential houses for labourers, a mill, a sauna, a shed, 5 cattle sheds, a stackyard, a smithery and an ice-house.

St. John The Baptist Church In Mielagėnai
Upon entering Mielagėnai Church courtyard through the gate of Classical forms, one can see a church of forms, perhaps most common in Lithuania of Classicism period: a building rectangular in plan, the front of which is decorated with a portico. True, the portico did not appear at the same time as the church – the latter was built in 1779-1790 and did not have any portico at first; the church was narrower, a single nave one. In 1830, a reconstruction of the building took place, during which the church acquired the present form, characteristic of High Classicism.

Exploring Lithuania with Daniels and Nele
Our neighbours Daniels from Latvia and Nele from Estonia found their own way to experience Lithuania on a short break. Watch Daniels canoe down the river along the street art district, perform human flag and other street workout stunts in Vilnius Old Town. Meanwhile, Nele was chilling in Užupis, relaxing in one of the many parks of Vilnius and visiting Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant to see where the Chernobyl TV series was filmed.
The stunts in this movie were performed by professionals, so for your safety and protection of those around you, do not attempt any of the stunts you see in this video.
