Edappadi is a municipality town in Salem District. This Poolampatti is a small village in Edappadi which is popularly known as Mini Kerala or Salem's Alappuzha because of its natural beauty and the non-stop water flow of the legend Kaveri river. After Mettur Dam the kaveri stopped and stacked in this Poolampatti village for Power generator.
Here people use boat for cross the river from Salem to Erode(two districts) in 5-10 minutes of travel. The other road route will take more time and kilo meter to reach the same destination. As a tourist or to escape from regular life style this place is best for one day exploration with family or your loved ones.

எடப்பாடி வட்டத்தில் உள்ள பூலாம்பட்டி பேரூராட்சி, சேலத்திலிருந்து 49 கிமீ தொலைவில் உள்ளது. குட்டி கேரளா என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறாது இதனருகே அமைந்த தொடருந்து நிலையம் 22 கிமீ தொலைவில் உள்ள மேட்டூர் அணையில் உள்ளது. இதன் கிழக்கே எடப்பாடி 12கிமீ;மேற்கே நெருஞ்சிப்பேட்டை 6 கிமீ; வடக்கே மேட்டூர் 17 கிமீ; தெற்கே சங்ககிரி 27 கிமீ தொலைவில் உள்ளது.காவிரியின் கரையில் அமைந்திருப்பதால் இந்த கிராமம் பெரிதும் விவசாயத்தையே நம்பியுள்ளது. கரும்பு, நெல், வாழை, மஞ்சள் போன்ற நன்செய் பயிர்கள் அதிகம் விளைகின்றன. பூலாம்பட்டி அருகில் உள்ள தடுப்பணை மூலம் ஆற்றில் விவசாயத்திற்குத் தண்ணீர் தேக்கப்படுகிறது.வெகு சிறிய அளவில் மீன்பிடிப்பும் நடைபெறுகிறது. சில மீனவர்கள் பயணிகளை ஆற்றில் படகு சவாரி அழைத்துச் சென்றும்சம்பாதிக்கின்றனர்.பூலாம்பட்டியானது மேட்டூர் அணையின் நீர்தேக்கப் பகுதியை ஒட்டி உள்ளது. இங்கிருந்து காவிரி ஆற்றைக் கடந்து அக்கரை செல்ல படகு துறை உள்ளது. இந்த படகு துறையில் இருந்து ஈரோடு மாவட்டம், நெருஞ்சிப்பேட்டைக்கு விசைப்படகு போக்குவரத்து உள்ளது.
