I’ll have the answer for you at the last segment of this episode.
At 1.4 billion people, China is the world’s most populous country, and over 90 percent of them are ethnically classified as the Han Chinese. So, if you plan to make friends while you are visiting this country, it is important that you get to know who the Han are. Let’s start with the name. Just like India’s people are named after the Indus River, the Han name comes from the Han River from which derives the Han Dynasty name and subsequently, the name of the modern Han people. This group can be found on mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and throughout our planet. The Han Chinese grew out the Huaxia or “Civilized People” who farmed along the Yellow River, and consider themselves distinct from the so-called ‘barbarians’ around them. The development of this nearly genetically homogenous Han ethnic group is after millenia of mass migrations, and intermingling of diverse people due to wars, famines and trade. In addition to this biological unification, the Han Chinese also share a common culture, shown in a mutual writing system called Hanzi or Han Script. The Han people, also known as Hua Ren, are influenced by Confucianism, which focuses on family unity and social harmony. If one person can be pointed to as the beginning of the Han people, it would be the Han Dynasty’s first Emperor Liu Bang. And this aristocratic association instills pride to the Han Chinese people even today.

Tianqiaogou, Liaoning, China
Tianqiaogou Forest Park is located in the northwest of Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County, Liaoning Province, 59 kilometers from Kuandian County, 159 kilometers from Dandong City, 220 kilometers from Shenyang City, adjacent to Benxi County in the west, and bordering Huanren County in the north.
Tianqiaogou Forest Park is a branch of the Changbai Mountain Range Old Ridge, formed 140 million years ago in the late Jurassic period, its unique geomorphology by Chinese and foreign geologists as the classic work of the Earth's mountain building movement. During the Qing Dynasty, it was one of the Long Xing Land of the Qing Dynasty and one of the royal paddocks. The park was officially opened to the public in 1992 after it was named a forest park by the Ministry of Forestry. The park covers an area of more than 4,000 hectares, with a forest coverage rate of 96%.
The beauty of the landscape and scenery in Tianqiaogou Forest Park is different from the traditional five mountains and Changbai scenery in China. It has four distinct seasons, which can be described as a world in one season, four seasons in four heavens. There are 72 tourist attractions in 4 major tourist areas, including Lotus Peak, Yuquan Top, Xiaoyue Peak and Red Maple Valley, including more than 20 sites of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces. Among them, the Lotus Peak reflecting the sun, the sky bridge clear moon, eagle rock snow, the day pool fishing, layers of red maple, double pine waterfall, the moon singing birds, the sea of clouds, such as the Tianqiao eight scenery most famous. Tianqiao Ditch Forest Park is an AAAA level scenic tourist area and one of the Top Ten Forest Parks and National Defense Education Bases in Liaoning Province.

오녀산성은 고구려 시조 주몽의 첫 도읍 흘승골성의 부분 이다.
오녀산성(五女山山城)은, 중국 랴오닝 성(遼寧省) 번시 시(本溪市) 환인현(桓仁縣) 오녀산(五女山)에 위치한 산성(山城)이다.
해발 800미터 높이에 이르는 절벽의 천연 지세를 그대로 이용하여 쌓은 고구려 특유의 테뫼식 축성 양식을 보여준다.
