Die Straße im Berliner Bezirk Reinickendorf ist von viel Grün umgeben und hat einen Waldsee um die Ecke. Da wird der starke Verkehr auf dem Hermsdorfer Damm fast zur Nebensache.

Einfamilienhäuser und Villen prägen das Straßenbild. Die Anwohner leben gerne in der Gegend. Der frische Fisch kommt nicht aus dem See. Dazu später mehr.
Bienenfreuden im naturnahen Garten
Aus zwei kleinen Völkern sind zig fleißige Bienenarbeiterinnen geworden. Als Familie Gottschalk vor 14 Jahren ihr Grundstück bezogen und einen naturnahen Garten angelegt hat, wurde beispielsweise der Apfelbaum jahrelang nicht bestäubt. Also haben sie sich die Bienen selbst in den Garten geholt. Inzwischen schwärmen die vielen Stämme in weitere Gärten und zu den Linden am Hermsdorfer Damm aus.
Bühne frei für Sammy Tavalis
Der Varieté-Künstler wohnt gleich um die Ecke vom Hermsdorfer Damm. Er liebt die Gegend zwischen Tegeler Forst und Tegeler Fließ in die er mit seinen Eltern als Kind gezogen ist. Der Künstler ist ständig auf kreativer Suche für seine Programme. Der Garten der Familie ist ein blühender Ruhepol.
Großes Vogelgezwitscher in Volieren
Die Vogeltierärztin Angelika Wedel liebt schon seit ihrer Kindheit Vögel. Bei sich zuhause am Hermsdorfer Damm nimmt sie exotische Vögel, wie Papageien auf, die ihre Halter abgeben möchten. Und wer in den Urlaub fährt, findet bei ihr auch einen Pensionsplatz.
Meeresgeflüster an der Ecke Heinsestraße
Vom Hermsdorfer Damm geht die Einkaufsstraße Heinsestraße ab und dort ist auch die S-Bahnstation Hermsdorf. Seit über 30 Jahren grüßt das Meer bei Mario Gaideck. Er räuchert und verkauft aus Überzeugung frischen und Fisch. In seiner Fischbude wird inzwischen auch Sushi gerollt. Die Berliner, so erzählt er, verzehren den meisten Fisch in Deutschland.
Massagen für Neugeborene
Junge Eltern treffen sich bei Denise Sawyer. Dort lernen sie mit ihren Babys, Bewegung und Sinne zu trainieren. Auch Massagen für die Liebsten gehören zum Programm. Außerdem schneidert Denise Baby-Kleidung.
Vom Marathon zum Tretroller-Fahren
Der 81-jährige Sportfreak Peter Bartel musste von Langlaufschuhen auf zwei Räder umsteigen. Jetzt wirbt er für seinen Sportclub um Mitglieder für den Tretrollersport. Wobei die Tretroller in den Ausmaßen eher dem Fahrrad nahekommen. Definitiv werden damit ordentlich Muskeln und Kondition trainiert und die Gelenke geschont.

Hermsdorf is a town in the Saale-Holzland district of the state of Thuringia in eastern Germany. It is especially known for the motorway junction Hermsdorfer Kreuz where the two German autobahns A 4 and A 9 meet. Hermsdorf-Klosterlausnitz station is on the Weimar–Gera railway.
