Bensheim-Auerbach, Sehenswürdigkeiten des Stadtteils von Bensheim an der Bergstrasse
Wir beginnen unseren Besuch im Luftkurort Auerbach am Bahnhof. Nach dem Auerbacher Haus und dem Kurpark schauen wir uns verschiedene denkmalgeschützte Häuser in der Bachgasse an. Bevor wir uns dem Ortskern zuwenden steht ein Abstecher zur Bergkirche und zum Herrenhaus des Fürstenlagers auf unserem Programm. Nachdem wir auch das Auerbacher Schloss besichtigt haben, endet unser Rundgang in der Nähe des Alten Elektrizitätswerkes am Bahnhof.

Heppenheim (Bergstraße)
Heppenheim (dialect Hepprum) is the district seat of the southern Hessian district of Bergstraße and lies on the Bergstraße on the edge of the Odenwald.
The village was first mentioned in writing in 755 and received its town charter in 1318. The liberal Heppenheim Conference of 1847 was the prelude to the German Revolution of 1848/1849, which is why the Free Democratic Party was founded here in 1948.
Heppenheim is located on the border with Baden-Württemberg. The city area itself is located below the Schlossberg with the medieval Starkenburg. In addition to the castle, St. Peter's, the Cathedral of the Mountain Road - the popular name of the large Catholic church consecrated in 1904, which is not a bishop's seat, is characteristic of the cityscape.
The largest lake in Heppenheim is the Bruchsee. Several streams such as Hambach, Stadtbach, Erbach and Bombach flow from the east into the valleys of the front Odenwald to the Weschnitz, which forms the western edge of the district.
Bergstraße is the name of the road running from Darmstadt to Heidelberg on the western edge of the Odenwald and the eastern edge of the Rhine plain (today's Bundesstraße 3) as well as the landscape in its immediate vicinity. The latter is characterized by an extraordinarily mild and sunny climate with particularly early tree flowering.
In the area of the Ober-Laudenbach district, there is a border curiosity that is unique in Hesse: the northern part of Ober-Laudenbach forms an enclave in Baden-Württemberg territory. Within this enclave and in the southern part of Ober-Laudenbach, there are two enclaves of Baden-Württemberg.
Heppenheim borders in the north on the town of Bensheim, in the northeast on the community of Lautertal and the town of Lindenfels, in the east on the communities of Fürth, Rimbach, Mörlenbach and Birkenau (both like Fürth and Rimbach in the Weschnitz valley), in the south on the Baden community of Laudenbach (Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden-Württemberg), in the southwest on the southern Hessian towns of Viernheim and Lampertheim as well as in the west to the city of Lorsch.

Heppenheim (Bergstrasse) / Germany is a town of just around around 26.000 people in southern Hesse. Heppenheim is located on the edge of the Odenwald in a wine producing region.
Currently the town is also known as the hometown of Formula 1 pilot Sebastian Vettel. Heppenheim was first mentioned in 755 and received its town charter in 1318.
We start our walking tour at the town square and explore the historical center with its many timber-framed houses. On this cloudy day we see the St. Peter church first before we walk around the narrow streets in the old and later new part of Heppenheim. There we can also see some part of Heppenheimer Laternenweg which are more than 150 silhouettes by artist Albert Völkl on the street lamps of Heppenheim's old town.
Our tour finishes right where we started - at the market square.

Romantic Germany (Issue 1) Bergstraße / Odenwald
Today I’m starting a new series of travel videos which I named „Romantic Germany“.
It’s not about big cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Munich or Cologne. It’s more about smaller cities and towns which are for me hidden jewels in the back country.
So the first issue of this series is dedicated to Odenwald and Bergstraße – a region roughly located between Darmstadt and Heidelberg.
Historic city centers from medieval times with (half-)timbered buildings, market places, churches, city walls, monastries, castles and fortresses will play the main role in my Romantic Germany series.
Please follow me to see a handful locations in this Bergstraße / Odenwald region.
Places which are highlighted are Michelstadt, Felsenmeer near Lauterbach, Bensheim, Lorsch, Heppenheim, Weinheim and Ladenburg.
Also visited was automobile museum of Dr. Carl Benz the inventor of the automobile. Lots of info about the life of Carl Benz and his wife Bertha who became the first person who performed a long distance trip with the first automobile is provided there. It's a must see for all automotive interested people and petrolheads .

Wir beginnen unseren Rundgang durch Hemsbach, einer Kleinstadt im Nordosten Baden-Württembergs, am Bahnhof. Danach schauen wir uns u.a. die St.-Laurentius-Kirche, das katholisches Pfarrhaus, die ehemalige Synagoge, das imposante Rathaus, die Zehntscheuer und die Goetheschule in der Gartenstraße an.

Walking in WEINHEIM Germany ???????? 4K 60fps UHD
Weinheim / Germany is a town with about 43,000 inhabitants in northwest Baden-Württemberg. Attractions include the Windeck Castle, Hirschkopfturm, Waidsee. Weinheim (also known as Weinheim an der Bergstraße) is located 10 km northeast of Mannheim and approximately 15 km north of Heidelberg which be both walked here on POPtravel.
Our tour in Weinheim starts at the market square (Marktplatz) and leads through the inner town center. We see the typical houses and narrow alleys of small town of the area. Eventually the sun gets out and we head out of town to the train station.
We continued onwards with a tram to Heidelberg where it was raining: We also visited Heppenheim earlier on this day: if you like to see more towns in this area of Germany.

Auf dem sonnigen Wanderweg am Schlossberg über die Altstadt Heppenheim in Südhessen kann man wunderschöner Aussicht genießen: Auf der rechten Seite ist der hoch aufragende Starkenburg und unten links kann man den schönen Weinberg und die Altstadt Heppenheim überblicken Dieser Wanderweg ist als Planetenweg bekannt. Die Starkenburg Warte auf dem Schlossberg hat in 1997 einen kleinen Planet(namens Heppenheim) mit Durchmesser von etwa 3 km entdeckt. Der Spaziergang ist eine gute Möglichkeit, sich zu bewegen, eine tolle Aussicht zu genießen und vieles über Astronomie zu lernen.

在古城赫本海姆(Heppenheim)边上的城堡山上，沿着阳光灿烂的山路徒步行走， 右上面是高耸的城堡，左下面是葡萄园和美丽的城镇。此徒步路段冠名为行星之路(Planetary path / Planetenweg)。原来在此山上有一个天文观象台， 观象人员于1997年在此发现了一颗直径大约3公里的行星，并以此城市命名。一路走来，既锻炼了身体，又观赏了美景，更学到了不少天文知识， 真是一举多得。
