Scuba diving HEMMOOR, Germany - WALL OF CHINA
Divers PLAYGROUND in all shape and sizes. This chalk lake is FANTASTIC for all divers. And what a VISIBILITY - and it´s all because of the chalk. It´s deep....down to 60 M/196 FT.
They have filled the lake with many different objects like a truck, plane, sailing boat, wrecks, great white shark ,-), walls, platforms, workbench etc more than 49 objects are in this huge lake.
The lake is in Hemmoor, Germany and the lake is called Kreidesee aka Chalk-lake. It used to be a mine where they dug up chalk until 1982. They stopped mining because of the groundwater kept giving them problems - the pumps couldn´t keep up with all the water that came up from the ground. So in 2012 it opend up for divers.

Hello!!! My name is René and I live in Denmark. I have been a scuba diver since feb. 17th 2019 – AND I love it. I am a PADI Master Scuba Diver.
Besides my dayjob I enjoy travelling to new destinations & to explore the divesites. But I mostly dive in the cold, dark but beautiful ocean that surrounds Denmark. It´s maybe not as excotic as in other countries BUT we have a lot shipwrecks from the 1st and 2nd worldwar and they are AMAZING to explore.
My passion is scuba diving and I go dive as much as possible. In the summer season its about 3 – 4 times a week but offcourse less in the wintertime. But I will share my dives with you for good – and the bad.

A rare landmark of engineering
Of the original 20 or so floating ferries in the world, only 8 remain!
The Osten-Hemmoor floating ferry, commissioned in 1909 and thus the oldest in Germany, travels between Osten and Hemmoor and crosses the river Oste.
A floating ferry or suspension ferry is a suspension railway on a fixed girder over a body of water. It does not float, but hangs on ropes or bars under a high bridge girder and travels above the water from one side of a river or canal to the other.
Advantages
A floating ferry can also operate in icy or low water conditions and requires less energy than a ferry boat. It is cheaper to build than a vehicular bridge with the same clearance for shipping traffic. The first floating ferry was designed by the architect and engineer Alberto Palacio, who built it together with the engineer Ferdinand Arnodin. Both are considered its inventors.

APNEA-COLLEGE EXPERIENCEDAYS 2022
Die Experiencedays sind das größte Event zum Luft anhalten, dass Freediving, Apnoetauchen oder Freitauchen genannt wird. Dabei geht es nicht nur um Freediving Rekorde oder Apnoetauchen Rekorde, sondern primär um das zusammenkommen der Freediving Community zum Apnoetauchen in Deutschland, im Kreidesee Hemmoor.

Die Hilfe für die Befestigung für das Seil in 36m Tiefe von Andreas mit DTG haben wir gerne angenommen. So konnten wir trotz Strömung am Canyon Wrack in Kas sicher und ausgiebig Apnoetauchen.
Die Termine für die MaviDiving Apnoe Wochen nächste Jahr stehen bereits!

There are 2 main stations on Starnbergersee, One is Starnberger and one is Tutzing. Both places are good to explore Starnbergersee. The best place to explore Starnbergersee is in Starnberger.

Starnbergersee is 5th largest German lake in terms of Area and it's an all year around lake. Cruise and boating in Starnbergersee is highly recommended.

Plakias is home to one of the nicest diving groups we've been with! Dive2Gether is a Dutch company operating there, offering diving tours around the area of Plakias on the Southern side of Crete.
It's a bit on the pricier side and don't expect to see as much as you would in eg. Philippines(there aren't much corals in the Mediterranean), but I think it's well worth it!
