I Was Told to NOT Love CHINA... Yet Here I Am
I’ll be honest, before visiting China, I was warned by friends and family that I should NOT fall in love with this complicated country. As an Australian, I was cautioned about the pollution and advised to be wary of the Communist regime that governs China. Yet here I am, cruising along the canals of Suzhou on a gondola and finding myself falling in love with the enduring history and mesmerizing beauty of this ancient water town known as the Venice of the East. With its vast network of stone bridges crossing over rivers and canals, Suzhou sweeps me away to another time. As the sunset casts golden hues along historic Pingjiang Road, and I taste the sweet songpyeon cakes that locals gift me with smiles, my heart fills. How can I not love China when the people welcome me with such warmth and open arms? I was warned not to, but I am falling in love with China all the same. Join me on this journey through the Venice of the East to experience the magic for yourself. And then tell me again that I should not let this complicated yet captivating country capture my heart.

Welcome to my latest travel vlog! In this episode, I'll be taking you on a thrilling trekking journey through the hills of Kotang in East Nepal. As we venture through dangerous and sketchy paths, we'll be treated to breathtaking views that are sure to take your breath away.
As we make our way to the village, we'll be welcomed with open arms and the traditional Nepalese greeting, Namaste. Along the way, we'll encounter some amazing locals, and farmers, and cross some of the sketchiest bamboo bridges you'll ever see. But don't worry, we'll make it through together. We'll have to cross the local stream and drink some refreshing water from there.
From corn fields to rice fields, and potato fields to any field you can think of, we'll get a chance to indulge in the culture of rural Nepal and everything it has to offer. We'll also get a chance to talk to locals, drink their local drink (which I can't pronounce), and experience the magic of this unique village.

Hey everyone! Welcome to our latest video where we take you on an exciting/scary trip to Brunei. This place has been in the news a lot, and we wanted to see what it's really like beyond what everyone talks about. So, we kicked off our adventure wanting to dive into the real Brunei - from its strict laws to its incredible wealth. It's a country that's caught between its rich traditions and some pretty tough rules. But what really blew us away was how friendly and welcoming the people are.
We got to check out the Sultan's massive palace, which is just mind-blowing with all its luxury. But it's not all about the glitz here; we also saw how the country takes care of its people, with free schooling and healthcare, which is pretty awesome. Our journey took us through bustling markets where everything's super cheap, beautiful mosques covered in gold, and even into the lives of the locals who invited us to share a meal with them. It was these moments that really made our trip special.
We also got a peek into the less flashy side of Brunei, visiting a water village and seeing how people live in houses on stilts right over the water. It felt like stepping into a whole different world. This video is all about showing you the real Brunei - from the fancy bits to the simple, everyday life of its people. We're here to share our experiences, the cool places we've seen, the delicious food we've tried, and the amazing people we've met along the way.

Hafen-Heino und Ron parken die OSTWIND um, die kurz danach schon wieder 'rausgeht. Während Heino von der Leistung des Turbodieselmotors begeistert ist, kann Ron einige Geschichten über die Trawler aus Kröslin erzählen. Auch in der Charterbasis am Peenestrom (Seebereich) sind Benetea Trawler zu chartern.
Und dann ist da noch Kai, der neue Hafenmeister, der gute Tage und schlechte Tage verwechselt. Passiert.....

The 2019 Toronto Oktoberfest at Ontario Place ran from 26-28 September and was located next to the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) Grounds in downtown Toronto by Lake Ontario. There is authentic German Weissbier, with the Erdinger brewery as a sponsor of the event. Erdinger is a long established traditional brewery based in Erding near Munich, which is also famous for sponsoring the IBU Biathlon tour with its alcohol free version that has a great taste.
It might be a matter of subjective opinion, but it seems as if because they leave the yeast (Hefe in German) and use natural ingredients, the Hefe Weiss type of German beer doesn't seem to give as much of a hangover or headache as more refined types of beers that might have many more additives or chemicals used in the processing. It used to be hard to find weiss beer in Toronto apart from a few German clubs, but now it has become very popular and is widely available in bars and restaurants and can be purchased also in retail stores. There is a wide variety of weiss beer as well, which is also popular in Belgium, where it is called wit beer (white beer) - the most famous variety being Hoegaarten (prononced something like hoo-kgArten). Although Hoegaarten easily beats most of the types of mainstream highly refined lagers and pilsners for taste, Erdinger Hefeweiss is much more full-flavoured and natural tasting in comparison, and is one of the world's best beers. It is great that they finally brought Erdinger to Kitchener (formerly Berlin) Oktoberfest on its 50th Anniversary in 2018, and hopefully it will be available every year from now on. Even though Kitchener/Berlin Oktoberfest is the biggest outside of Germany and it is a great celebration - how can it be Oktoberfest without weiss beer ? Even if a person is not a big drinker, just that it is there makes a big difference. It is a major improvement for the celebration there. This year at Toronto Oktoberfest there are also tasty German sausages from Wagener's Meats, and big pretzels of course, but not quite the 2 foot wide ones they have in Bavaria.
For the first few guests they were giving away 1 liter/1 Mass authentic Erdinger glass steins. A Mass in German is a 1 liter beer, which is the standard size of 1 beer when ordering at Oktoberfest or Volksfests - usually nobody there buys a 1/2 liter beer. In Toronto Oktoberfest you could have your mass stein or mug filled, but each token was for a standard North American sized beer, so it would take a few if you want a full mass - there were few people doing that. But the full flavour of Erdinger weissbier should be mentioned again - it is really tasty - lekker. Often when people have tried Bavarian weiss beer they never can go back to the refined and bland beer with so little flavour that is common in North America and will always prefer or go out of their way to get authentic weiss beer if they can get it. There are hundreds if not thousands of small breweries in Germany, since it is the national drink, and some of them have been established for centuries. If you ever go to Bavaria in Germany, the taste of weissbier is one which will often remain with you, as will the taste of certain signature foods like real bratwurst, and particularly Nürnberger bratwurst.
At Toronto Oktoberfest there is a variety of musical entertainment and games, with traditional indoor as well as outdoor lounge type seating. Although this is the 8th year of this particular Oktoberfest at the Ontario Place parking lot, there have been other types of big Oktoberfest events in Toronto organized over the years at different venues. There are also regular Oktoberfest celebrations at the German clubs. Other types of bars and clubs have Oktoberfest special events as well.
