Yettinahole project project involves construction of eight small dams.the environmental impacts and surrounding the Project 1. Ecological imbalance because of felling thousands of trees from dense forests of western ghats. Already causing adverse effect on rainfall already.
2. Alteration of river course results in habitat fragmentation.
3. dry the upper course of Gundia river
4.Water logging and increased salinity near the storage area. The diversion will decrease the water flowing into the Arabian sea and this could increase the salinity of the Netravati river which is considered the lifeline of Dakshina Kannada district.

You can spread out a picnic mat and laze on the banks. This dam has a beautiful projection across many acres land and gives you a happy feel factor during your stay. This is one of the best place for bird photographers and for fishing. You will be surprised too see this Place with full stream of water around you flowing with a musical sound. You can find a lovely structure - a dilapidated temple, in a little island of its own. You can even have coracle (theppa in Kannada) ride in the lake. One will like this place because of its calmness and bird sightings. Glimpse of the blue water of this dam from distance is just awesome, loved the view. The water in the lake looks very quite and attractive and tends to pull u towards itself. A joyful experience and the most wonderful pace to visit. Overall a picturesque location, a quiet reservoir and a perfect picnic spot with a bunch of friends and family
