Lakes and mountains of Styria (Steiermark)

The main topic of the video are lakes and mountains of Upper Styria focused on the area around Schladming. We also quickly jumped to Hallstatt to see it with a bit less people than normally.

The video was shot in the end May 2020 so some places were still closed because of covid-19.

Steiermark 5K - Styria - Austria

Steiermark, English Styria, has an area of 6,327 square miles (16,387 square km). Upper Steiermark extends in the north from the Limestone Alps to the eastern groups of the Central Alps, embracing the valleys of the Mur, Mürz, Salza, and Upper Enns rivers. The Lower Steiermark upland and hill country consists of the middle Mur Valley with the Grazerfeld “plain” in the centre; the Koralpe and Packalpe rising above 6,500 feet (2,000 metres) in the west; and a gravel, loam-covered hill country in the east.

Ethnically, Steiermark is German. Most inhabitants are Roman Catholic. Ancient folklore, song, and dance are preserved in the mountainous areas and the gray-green Steiermark suit is almost an Austrian national costume. The principal urban centres are Graz, the capital, Leoben, Kapfenberg, Bruck, Eisenerz, Knittelfeld, Köflach, Mürzzuschlag, and Fohnsdorf.

GRUNDLSEE AUSTRIA | Walking Tour at Lake in Styria

???????? Grundlsee in Styria Austria may well be the best place in Europe this year. This beautiful lake will give you a great idea of where to spend the summer. In this Austria travel vlog I will do a travel walking tour through this amazing village in Austria. Grundlsee is not far away from Salzburg and Hallstatt in the Salzkammergut region of Austria.

So if you need ideas for where to go in Europe, Grundlsee in Styria is the best places in Austria for a relaxed vacation off the beaten path. My Austria travel 4k video will give you more tips on what do you go see in Austria, where to go in Austria, and what to do in Austria in summer. Grundlsee in the Ausseerland is perfect for an Austria day trip and it's one of the best things to do in Salzburg, or when you are visiting Hallstatt in Austria. So let's prepare for the best vacation in Europe this year!

This Austria travel vlog is part of a series of Austria Travel 4K Ultra HD videos. Whether you want to know where to go in Austria, what to do in Austria in Summer, what do you go see in Austria or what are the best places in Austria, this Austria travel diary will hopefully provide some answers. Whether you plan for an Austria day trip or a longer Austria travel to Vienna, Salzburg or the Salzkammergut, there is so much to see in this beautiful Alpine country.

The Salzkammergut (or Salzburger Land) is a particularly attractive region to visit in Austria. So plan to do a travel walking tour in the most beautiful village in Austria, or hike the Alpine mountains, or swim in beautiful lakes during your next Austria vacation ('Österreich Urlaub' in German). There are so many things to do in Salzburg and the surrounding Salzkammergut region that you don't want to miss.

The community Grundlsee is located in Ausseerland in the Styrian Salzkammergut in the district of Liezen, Styria. Grundlsee is located at 732 m above sea level directly on the Grundlsee on the southwestern edge of the Totes Gebirge.

The five villages of the municipality are located in an elongated valley on the shores of the Grundlsee, which is framed on three sides by the approximately 1000 meters towering foothills of the Dead Mountains. The valley has an east-west length of about ten kilometers (to the Kammersee ) and a width of about one kilometer in a north-south direction with the only opening to the west to the Bad Ausseer basin. The highest mountain Grundlsees is the large high box with 2389 m at the border to Upper Austria. The inhabited area has an average height of 750 m. Due to the alpine position and the strong proportion of the Dead Mountains, about 75% of the municipality consist of alpine wastelands, the rest are forests, grassland and other forms of land.

Styria, Austria | City of Graz, nature, attractions | Drone 4k video | Land of Styria what to see

Styria, Austria. A video shot from a drone in 4K tells about Styria. In this video review, you will see the beauties of mountain nature and Renaissance buildings from a bird's eye view.

general information
The Austrian state of Styria is the second largest in the whole country. It is located in the basin of the Mur River, a tributary of the Drava River, in the southeast of the country. Among the Bohemian people, the region is known as the birthplace of the famous actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, the main wealth of Styria is the centuries-old historical buildings and virgin nature. The region shares a land border with Slovenia to the south.

Capital
The administrative center of the region is the second largest city in Austria, Graz. The city is distinguished by a highly developed industry: mechanical engineering, brewing, chemical and others. Throughout southeastern Europe, the international fair held in the capital is especially appreciated, which is an important industrial and commercial event.

Nature
All the symbols of Austria have gathered in the beautiful landscape of the region: the bare slopes of the Alps shrouded in dense forest, greenish meadows with numerous cows and clear blue lakes bathed in an abundance of sunlight. Virgin beautiful places are located mainly in the south of the region, where agriculture flourishes. In the north, industrial events and ski resorts are located.

Main cities: Graz, Weiz, Hartberg, Leibnitz
Graz is located on the river Mur. The city is quite sunny and protected from the winds by the surrounding Alps. The capital of the region has an important European historical center, which is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Most of the historical buildings of the city are made in Italian architectural styles.
On the Weizbach River, 30 km from the capital, lies another large Austrian city, Weiz. Its history began in the distant 12th century, however, the impetus for its development was the laying of the railway in the second half of the 19th century. In terms of architecture, the city harmoniously combines old Renaissance buildings and modern buildings.
Not far from the capital, you can find the town of Hartberg, although it is difficult to call it a full-fledged city - the population here is only 6.5 thousand Austrians. But on its territory there are the remains of real Roman buildings, an atmospheric pedestrian center and a mysterious castle.
Between the rivers Mur and Sulm lies the graceful city of Leibnitz. It was once believed that it got its name in honor of the German mathematician Gottfried von Leibniz, however, this is not the case. In the 6th century, the Slavs settled on the territory, who called it Lipnizza - Linden Regions (probably, these types of trees grew on the area). Now the city is known for its vineyards, and in the last century it has also become a kind of Mecca for all jazz lovers. Recently, a vote was held in Austria, during which the inhabitants of the country chose the most beautiful city in the country, in their opinion. 20% of those who voted chose Leibniz, which made him the winner of the competition.

What to see?
You should definitely go to Hallstatt, where you can not only look at the magical atmosphere of an Austrian village lost among lakes and the Alps, but also see the famous Salzkammergut - the oldest salt mines dating back to the second millennium BC. e.
You can touch the natural heritage in Lurgrotta. These are large-scale karst caves 25 km from the capital of the earth. Now everything is arranged there for tourists to visit: paths, bridges and electricity.
Along the valley of the Enns River lies the large Gesuse National Park. On its territory you can find picturesque landscapes, among which a large number of rare representatives of fauna and flora live and grow. The famous Benedictine monastery Admont with a large book depository is also located there.

sights
In Graz, you can find the Mausoleum - a complex consisting of the Church of St. Catherine and the tomb of Ferdinand II. Near it are the Cathedral and the Burg fortress.

My favorite mountain town in Europe ????️???? #innsbruck #austria #travel

Innsbruck is such an amazing place, this town is right under the beautiful Alps. The town is colorful, it's on the water, and the backdrop is just surreal. A must visit in the Alps.
