*Geelong* is only an hour away from *Melbourne* and it offers a great beach vibe, being a coastal city. If you are visiting Melbourne be sure to spend a day in Geelong and discover the historic charm of a port city without the congestion and the crowds, and there are plenty of things to in Geelong and at the Geelong Waterfront. The iconic *Cunningham Pier* is home to beautiful seaside restaurant *Wah Wah Gee* , the bar *Wah Bah* and *the Pier* wedding venue. During Christmas time there is huge Christmas Tree that lights up every evening draws locals and visitors alike near the Cunningham Pier
Geelong is a coastal city located on the bay of Corio with ample public beaches green spaces and walking paths. Driving along the coast on the bay of Corio is quite breathtaking and scenic. Evenings are breathtakingly beautiful as well with the pink and orange skies at sunset.
Getting to Geelong is quite easy. it is only an hour away, using the V-line train takes about 1 hour as well. If arriving directly from the MEL airport there is shuttle bus (Gull Bus) that will bring you to Geelong. The is a ferry that runs between Geelong Waterfront and Docklands near Melbourne CBD (downtown).
In the surrounding area of the bay, you can take a Bollards Walk tour, enjoy a carousel or Ferris wheel ride, take a walk on the Easter Beach Promenade, take a dip in the enclosed sea-bath (sea water) pool, and enjoy some seafood.

As well as being superb street trees, jacarandas look stunning on their own as a specimen tree in an open lawn, where their fallen flowers form a colorful carpet of blue.
These trees can reach a height of around 10-15m, and a spread of the same size, so you need to be careful where you plant them, as they can extend a long way. One big mistake some people make is to let a jacaranda overhang their swimming pool, where the fallen flowers rapidly clog up the pool’s filter. However, planted in the right spot, a jacaranda is a magnificent shade tree.
