We Spent 24 Hours in Solvang for Julefest: Ostriches, Pastries, Light Shows & More
In this video, we went on a road trip and explored Solvang, California (a little town in the hills just north of Santa Barbara and Los Angeles) over 24 hours during their annual Julefest celebration. Exploring the town was so much fun, especially with my family! There were all sorts of things to see, including ostriches, a light show and tons of Christmas decorations. It was an interesting day visiting a open air museum in Aarhus, Denmark. People were in period costumes of the era. There were seventy five historical houses, gardens to visit, shops, workshops, and a market square similar to the time period of Hans Christian Anderson.

We traveled through the Danish Village of Solvang nestled in Santa Barbara's wine country near the Santa Ynez Mountains! We stayed at the Hamlet Inn in Solvang. Really fun little city to visit with all of the Danish architecture and influence. We had Danish pancakes with strawberries, bacon, Orange Juice, Coffee, hash browns, eggs. Paula's is always good.
