Lippstadt is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is the largest town within the district of Soest. Lippstadt is situated about 60 kilometres east of Dortmund, 40 kilometres south of Bielefeld and 30 kilometres west of Paderborn

Ausserhalb der Ortschaft mitten im Grünen gelegen, mit einem großen, fast parkähnlichem #Garten.Das Haus hat m W 10 Zimmer und wird mit 3* klassifiziert. Das Zimmer war geräumig und sauber. Ausgestattet mit qualitativ hochwertigen Möbeln und hatte einen Balkon zur Rückseite. Bett: bequem, eigenes Bad mit Dekor der Ende 70er. Geräumiger Balkon zur Nutzung mit dem Nachbarn, leider ohne Trennwand d.h. man kann sich gegenseitig in Bad und Wohn-/Schlafraum schauen. Sehr nah an der vielbefahrenen Autobahn, die hier keinen Schallschutz bietet. Deshalb hinten für in dieser Hinsicht Lärmempfindliche nicht angeraten. Rauchen im Haus / Zimmer verboten, auf den Balkonen geduldet.
Frühstück im gemütlichen Raum mit #Kachelofen ausreichend, leider bei meinem Aufenthalt ohne jedwedes Personal auch nicht in der Küche d.h. es konnte z.B. kein weiterer Kaffee oder Nachlegen von aufgebrauchtem Belag, Brot o ä erbeten werden. Ein wenig befremdlich und enttäuschend.
Der #Park ist sehr gepflegt mit altem Baumbestand und Sitzgelegenheiten sind vorhanden. Neben einem gepflegten #Spielplatz war auch Swimming Pool aufgebaut.
Freundliche Gastgeberin, wenn sie dann einmal da war. Insgesamt zu empfehlen, wenn man sich an dem ständigen Geräusch der Autobahn nicht stört. Huervorzuheben die hochwertigen Betten und die #Sauberkeit!
Es sollte beachtet werden, dass es in der näheren Umgebung keinerlei Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt und im Hotel weder Getränkeautomat noch eine Bar. Wohl auch deshalb hat das Gros der Gäste Getränke und Weiteres mitgebracht.
Recommended for families (due to visit Safaripark). High quality furniture. Very #clean. inmidst a huge park.Large balconies. #Family-friendly. Childrens playground. A bit outside the next town, so bring drinks, etc. as not available in #hotel. Rooms to the front are calmer than those to the rear. Very acceptable breakfast for the price.

Die Externsteine im südlichen Teutoburger Wald bei HornBadMeinberg haben die Menschen schon immer fasziniert. Auch wir wollen die bizarren Felsen besuchen und fahren mit dem EBike auf dem Senne-Radweg zu diesem besonderen Ort. Der Radweg führt als Rundtour direkt an den Externsteinen vorbei. Eine wunderschöne Fahrradtour durch eine geschichtsträchtige Gegend.
Vor rund 130 Millionen Jahren grenzte das Meer des Niedersächsischen Beckens an das Münsterländer Festland. Am Meeresgrund bildeten sich stetig Ablagerungen, die zu Sandstein verhärteten. Durch geologische Verschiebungen der Erdkruste vor rund 70 Millionen Jahren stellten gewaltige Druckkräfte die Sandsteinschichten allmählich senkrecht auf.
So entstand der Gebirgszug des Teutoburger Waldes. Quellbäche spülten den Gebirgszug aus und ließen die Externsteine als eine einzigartige Felsengruppe zurück.
Jahr für Jahr besuchen noch heute mehr als 500.000 Menschen diesen magischen Ort, besonders zur Sonnenwende und in der Walpurgisnacht.
Der SenneRadweg ist ein gut ausgeschilderter Rundweg von ca. 82 Kilometer.

???? Rundkurs:
Der Einstieg und das Ende sind an jedem Punkt der Strecke möglich. Bahnreisende können von den Stationen der Senne-Bahn in Hövelhof und Paderborn-Schloss Neuhaus starten.
Auch von den Bahnhöfen Detmold, Horn-Bad Meinberg und Paderborn ist der Senne-Radweg nur wenige Kilometer entfernt.
Wir haben den Einstieg in Schloss Neuhaus gewählt und fahren entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn.
Im nördlichen Bereich sind fast durchweg leichte bis mäßige, manchmal aber auch heftige Steigungs- und Gefällestrecken z. B. im Bereich Hiddesen und HolzhausenExternsteine zu überwinden.
Im südlichen Teil des SenneRadweges, besonders im Streckenbereich zwischen Augustdorf und Hövelhof sind nur geringe Höhenunterschiede.
Der SenneRadweg führt zum größten Teil über asphaltierte, ruhige Wege. Ein paar Abschnitte beispielsweise in den Naturschutzgebieten zwischen Hiddesen und Augustdorf sind unbefestigt und teilweise grob geschottert.
Wer den Rundkurs verkürzen möchte, kann folgende Verbindungen wählen:
nördliche Querverbindung: Oesterholz - Augustdorf (14 km)
und die südliche Querverbindung: Hövelhof - Bad Lippspringe (10 km).

GERMANY: Hermann Monument - Teutoburg Forest
On top of the Hermannsdenkmal (Hermann Monument) you have a spectacular view of the area.
The statue is 53,46m high and is situated in Teutoburg Forest, southwest of Detmold in the district of Lippe, Germany.
It can be seen from many different points of the county, looming above the land from its high point on the densely forested and 386m tall mountain Grotenburg.
The Hermannsdenkmal depicts Hermann (Arminius in Latin), who defeated the Romans in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in the year 9 A.D., thus driving them out of the land. This is why the figure crushes the Roman Eagle under its foot.
Construction was started in 1841, but not completed until 1875 with the help of substantial funds from the state of Prussia.
It was built according to plans by the sculptor Ernst von Bandel, who devoted his whole life to it. During construction he lived in a small hut a short distance from the statue (Bandel-Hütte) that can still be visit today.

GERMANY: Detmold Castle
The princely residence castle is located in the center of the town park of Detmold. Originally, this building was more of a fortress than the beautiful castle you can admire today.
All through the Middle Ages the fortress was expanded but only as recently as in the 18th century the former fortress was renovated according to Baroque style and with this turned into a luxurious castle.
You can visit part of the Renaissance castle daily by means of a guided tour.
Marvel at the various state rooms and halls, which mainly date from the 18th and 19th centuries, although there are older items such as the Brussels tapestries from the 17th century on display.
Dr. Armin Prinz zur Lippe still lives in the castle; he is related to the Dutch royal family.

GERMANY: Schwalenberg village - panoramic views
Schwalenberg is popular with tourists, who come to the rolling hills to see the Burg (now a hotel-restaurant), the 16th-century town hall, and the half-timbered houses lining the cobblestone main street.
The village is located in the Lippe district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated approx. 20 km east of Detmold.
Schwalenberg was probably founded in the 10th century. The early history of the town is linked to the fortunes of the Count of Schwalenberg, the medieval lord of the castle.
In the municipal reorganization of the early 70's, Schwalenberg joined forces with its neighbor Schieder to form the town of Schieder-Schwalenberg.

Cycling in Germany - Teutoburgerwald (1/8)
Bicycle trip through Central Germany. In the first episode we depart from Emmen in the Province of Drenthe, the Netherlands. After the natural park of Bargerveen we cross the border and cycle along the Dortmund-Ems Kanal to Ibbenbüren. We visit 'das Hockendes Weib, a rock formation at the Dörenther Klippen, and cycle the path of the 'Hermannsweg' on the ridge of the Teutoburger Forest hills to Tecklenburg. After the nice viewpoint on the Lengericher canyon we continue the ride on scenic K30 backroad to Bad Iburg and from there more busier roads to Bielefeld.

Lippstadt is a very attractive town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is the largest town within the district of Soest. It is situated in the Lippe valley, roughly 70 kilometres east of Dortmund and roughly 30 kilometres west of Paderborn. The historic town centre is situated between an artificial canal of the river Lippe and the river itself.
In the early 13th century Lippstadt, with a population of 2700, had four parish churches. There was an Augustinian abbey which had existed since 1281.
Heinrich von Ahaus founded one of his communities for women of the Brethren of the Common Life there.
In 1523 it formed a defensive alliance together with the neighbouring cities of Osnabrück, Dortmund, Soest and Münster.
Augustinians studying at the University of Wittenberg brought Martin Luther's doctrine home with them. Thus in 1524 Lutheran doctrines were preached at Lippstadt by their prior Westermann, and the town was one of the first to embrace Lutheranism officially, though it resisted the rise of Calvinism in rural areas of Westphalia.
In 1821 the Papal Bull De salute animarum, made over to the Bishopric of Paderborn the Lippian parishes of Cappel, Lipperode and Lippstadt, which had previously belonged to the Archbishopric of Cologne without producing any ensuing agreement with the state of Lippe.
In 1851 the whole of Lippstadt, which up to then had been divided between the Kingdom of Prussia and Lippe, was added to the Prussian royal province of Westphalia.
In 1944 a women's subcamp of Buchenwald was founded in Lippstadt. It was also the site of a displaced persons camp in the years following World War II.
On 1 April 1945 the US 2nd Armored Division made contact with the 3rd Armored Division at Lippstadt, effecting junction of the US Ninth Army with the US First Army, and seized the city against scattered resistance.

Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine!
Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!
