Winter in Finland
During January and February, there is almost always snow in northern and eastern Finland. Even if there’s little snow in Helsinki, there’s often up to a metre or more on the skiing slopes of Lapland. The snow season in northern Finland begins in November and lasts at least until May. In the inland regions of southern and central Finland, the first snow falls at the beginning of December and melts during late March and April.

Opening the 'koski' in Hämeenkyrö
Nothing ever happens in Hämeenkyrö, so as a tourist attraction, they open up the locks (koski) on 'our' lake a few times a year for half an hour, thus creating the biggest waterfall in Finland (20 meter drop). The water comes with 20 kubic meters per second. Pretty impressive!

A boating / camping trip to Mahnala in Finland with the KaBoat Saturn SK470. I started from Hämeenkyrö and went upriver to Kyröskoski first. Then I headed for Mahnalanselkä, Murhasaari and Siuro. I camped for one night with the hammock and tarp and came back to Hämeenkyrö the next morning. In this video there are some time-lapse sections photographed during the night.
