Brisbane to Cairns Road Trip Stops | 20+ Things to see and do along the Queensland Coast, Australia
Hi All and thanks for joining me today for my selection of Brisbane to Cairns road Trip stops, and things to see and do along the Queensland Coast, Australia. (Obviously this can be done the Cairns to Brisbane direction as well.) I'm featuring about 20 stops, but a few ideas in each place to see and do, like Swimming, Hiking, relaxing, Beaches, Island Destinations, Snorkelling and lots of fun for you or the family.

I originally had more stops to add in this video, but came down to the amount of footage I have, and the length of the video. I must admit it has been a very nice reminder of the traveling I have already done along the Queensland Coast and brilliant memories from this locations.
Please use this video for idea's in researching your own journey, based on length of time and budget. The footage I collected in this video was taken over several different trips and made it easier to afford - but also easier to get to as a local from Brisbane.

Our Top Stays in QLD! | Top 3 Low Cost Camping & Top 10 Caravan Parks Queensland | Lap of Australia
We spent over 3 months making our way down the East Coast of Queensland and stayed at almost 40 places along the way. In the outback, along the coast and in the cities, we found some awesome places which are worth checking out.
Today we go through our Top 3 Low Cost Campgrounds and our Top 10 Caravan Parks in Queensland. We'll talk through the pros and cons of each and why we loved them and of course how much they cost.
Keep in mind these are just our opinions and there are so many more places we would have loved to see, these were our favourite we visited.
We are Hannah, Chris and dog Archie, setting off on a 12(ish) month trip around Australia - our BIG Staycation, with the whole of Australia as our backyard! We've quit our jobs, rented the house and gone from never towing a caravan, to touring the country full time with one! We're learning as we go!

GO TO GYMPIE! I Mary Valley, Queensland, Australia Travel Vlog 139, 2022
This week we Go to Gympie!
Gympie is situated 170 km north of Brisbane on the Mary River and less than an hour from the Sunshine Coast. We talk about how this town saved the entire state of Queensland in 1867 and we visit a flower farm saved from the recent floods (in 2022) by the local community.
With land in Gympie being very affordable compared to the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, a lot of people have made the move to Gympie in the last couple of years....the historic Gympie Station is also home to the Mary Valley Rattler steam train.
Gympie has many beautiful old buildings from the Gold Rush days and is definitely worth stopping for a look next time you're driving through on the Bruce Highway.....

Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
Our timing wasn't great - with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus on travelling around Queensland and sharing everything our beautiful State has to offer!

Exploring Gympie, Queensland Australia | Lake Alford | Tourist Drive 42 Mary Valley Road #travel
Lake Alford Recreational Park is located at the southern entry into Gympie.
The park has wonderful facilities (playground, BBQ, public amenities, Visitor Information Centre, off the leash dog park, and lots of off street parking for caravans and RVs.
An abundance of bird life at the park is evident with feeding of the ducks – a favorite activity for the kids.
Heading north out of Brisbane or Sunshine Coast take Exit 244 off the Bruce Highway (also Mary Valley Tourist Drive 42 exit) before turning left onto Kenilworth Skyring Creek Road. Follow the Mary Valley signs and enjoy the scenery as it changes from light forest to grazing pastures.

Gympie, Queensland - 4K Ambient Walk
It was a hot day for a 4K walking tour through the historic centre of Gympie. The town used to be known as Nashville and was established in 1867. It has a population of over 20,000 people and has a number of historic buildings.
The 4K walking tour, whilst hot, was very interesting and takes place mostly in the town's main street, Mary Street.
After the walk, I popped into one of the pubs for a nice cold beer.

QUEENSLAND Caravan Road Trip: Esk & Gympie
Our first caravan road trip! We had so much fun figuring things out, learning how to set up, reverse and even just drive a 4WD with the caravan attached. Our first two nights saw us visit Esk and Gympie, both in Queensland! Here's a look at our first few days experiencing the caravan lifestyle as complete beginners, what we ate, where we stayed, what we did and so much more!
