I have a very deep connection with this place. The memories of this place is deeply rooted in my heart.
This weekend I visited Shantiniketan and again felt that wonderful charm.
I started the day with some shopping in the Sonajhuri Haat. You will get to see different kinds of handmade jewelleries, bags, sarees, folk musical instruments here. And the centre of attraction of this market is Baul Songs and Tribal Dance.
Then I visited Rabindra Bhavan and this place will take you back to the memory lane of the Great Ravindra Nath Tagore. In the museum you will get to see his paintings, manuscripts, letters, photographs etc. You will experience his lifestyle and literary/art work here.
And then we went to witness the sunset at Kopai River. Here you can take a walk alongside Kopai and can shop in the small Haat on the bank of this beautiful river.

As soon as one enter Shibda the first thing that is seen is the large number of cows roaming around freely.Apart from cows there are flocks of ducks . They waddle around the ponds, quacking and splashing water as they move.
Shibda is a charming village that has preserved it's rural essence in the face of modernization. The cows ,ducks and fields of paddy are a constant reminder of how nature provides for the village communities.
As one walks through the dusty and muddy roads of the village ,the first thing that strikes ,is the simplicity of life.
The people here lead a rustic yet contented life, unaffected by the chaos.

Lockdown Travel to Guskara | Bardhaman | Part1
Guskara or Guskhara, I don't know which one is right. But what I know is, it's in Burdwan or Bardhaman. It was a one-day trip about 125 km from my home. It takes about 2 hours to reach our final destination Guskara. Where we stay is our beloved friend Ripan's place. This video is a half journey to Guskara where we take our second halt The famous 108 Lord SHIVA Temple of Burdhaman, our first halt also 3rd meeting point was Azad Hind Dhaba. Where our Scooty ( TVS Ntorq ) friend Soumya offer us tea, which was very essential to boost our energy.

Hello Guys! I am back with a travel vlog. It was a 310 km (to & fro) ride from my home and around 300 KM from Kolkata
Orgram is a small village in Bardhaman. It is about 27km in distance from Bardhaman junction and 3-4KM from Guskhara . The village is surrounded with thick green forest. The forest is lush green and very dense. Trees are very tall and offers a perfect North Bengal forest like experience. In between the forest there is a resort named Silver line resort.
From the jungle at a distance around 3-4 kms, there is an abandoned airport once used by the British empire during the second world war. This place is a must visit if you come to Orgram forest.
The place is a nice for One day trip. One can also stay in the resort and spent a leisure day. Just look inside the video.

Lockdown Travel to Guskara | Oregram Forest | Part II
After reaching Guskara, we decided to explore Oregram Forest. So we headed for the forest and we were welcomed with some water locks and uprooted trees, which made the place more iconic. After the great welcome greeting of nature, we faced so many offroad patches which made Tamal excited for the mighty Ladakh trip.
The vegetative growth of the forest is wonderful and there is an uncountable number of Termite mounts. Which made the ride more enjoyable.

In search of some serene offbeat destination near Kolkata we chose to visit Orgram & Valkimachan in East Burdwan, at around 130 km from Kolkata and 33 km from Burdwan city. It was an unplanned day trip cum self cooking event. Few kilometers before Gushkara, inside Orgram forest area there is an abandoned airfield named Guskhara Airfield, which is a former wartime United States Army Air Forces airfield in India used during the Burma Campaign 1944-1945. It took us approximately 3 hours to reach there. The place is very less visited by tourists and you can enjoy some peaceful moments there. It's a vast area of multiple airstrips and ruins of some fort-like brick structures, which are believed to be the remains of arsenals of the said airbase. After spending the lovely winter morning there we decided to visit Valkimachan, a relatively known tourist place at a distance of 24 kilometers from this airfield. Valkimachan has some special historical significance which we will show in our next episode. So keep watching our channel Sudurer Piyasi for the upcoming videos.

Orgram is a village in Bhatar CD block in Bardhaman Sadar North subdivision of Purba Bardhaman district in the state of West Bengal, India. The Orgram forest in Bardhaman District, West Bengal as revealed in the present ecological study, is of Shorea-Acacia-Cassia type. However, it appears to be a mixed type where no single species occupies a very large ecological locus. The species richness value is low and evenness moderate.
Guskara Airfield
Guskara Airfield is a former wartime United States Army Air Forces airfield in India used during the Burma Campaign 1944–1945. Guskara was a photo-recon base for the Tenth Air Force. Several aircraft including Northrop P-61 Black Widow and Lockheed P-38 Lightning operated from this airfield. It is now abandoned.
The state government wants to revive airstrips of World War II vintage in the districts that have been lying idle for decades to increase intra-state air connectivity. There are a dozen such airstrips in the state that were used by either the Royal Air Force or US Air Force between 1942 and 1945.

TheOrgramForest is a small village near Guskara, Purba Bardhaman. We the 4 friends started our journey from Katwa towards Orgram Village near about 50km. The night was spent at Silverline resort, the only hotel middle of the forest. The resort is newly buildup with a well-decorated Bar cum restaurant, couple friendly, eco-friendly room. On the next day first morning we leave the resort after taking breakfast towards Guskara Airfield into the deep forest. Middle of our journey other friends is also joining us to this trip memorable. We reached the abandoned British airport prior to independence after crossing the off-road journey. Have a well-spent day. The small trip has lots of fun with friends. #dance #lunch #photoshoot
