Iron Goddess or Tie Guan Yin is certainly one of the most famous Oolongs in the world and it is EVERYWHERE! With a flooded market it is much harder to find the really good stuff and it takes a deeper dive to know what questions you should be asking when selecting your tea.
It is the same for us. In order to find the handful of teas that we purchase for our clients, we have to taste hundreds of teas and learn the most detailed aspects of production. In this (quite long!) video we try to feed some of this knowledge to all of you. More informed consumers = higher standards!

Shou puerh tea is an incredible and mysterious product of Yunnan, China. The exact details of the process to turn sheng puerh into shou puerh are a closely guarded secret. Most masters won't let you see into their factory to show you how they do it. We found one factory that would! This is a quick look inside a shou puerh tea wet pile fermentation (wodui) factory!

Longjing tea Hangzhou China
Longjing tea is a type of green tea that is produced in Hangzhou, China. It is considered one of the best teas in China, with its fame reflected in its price – the first harvest of the year in March and April can fetch upwards of ¥6000 (around US$875) per kilo. The very best stuff is worth more, even, than gold. Longjing tea has a history of over 1200 years and was once a tribute to the Qing dynasty emperors. It is also known as dragon well tea, because it originates from the village of Longjing, which means dragon well in Chinese. Longjing tea has a verdant color, a strong fragrance, a sweet flavor and an elegant form. It is grown in the area around the West Lake, a famous scenic spot in Hangzhou. There are several tea plantations in Hangzhou where visitors can see the tea fields, learn about the tea culture and taste the fresh tea.

Searching for ancient towns tour, CHINA:
The trip takes me one month and 2000 kms to search for the ancient villages in China.
Xidi is a village in Xidi Town, southeast of Yi County, southern Anhui Province. Xidi Village was designated as the key cultural relics protection unit of Anhui Province in 1986, and was announced as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council of the People's Republic of China in 2001. The 24th UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting held in Cairns, Australia on November 30, 2000 decided to include the ancient villages of Xidi and Hongcun in southern Anhui in China on the World Cultural Heritage List. This is the first time that houses have been listed in the world Heritage list. On October 8, 2003, it was announced that it was approved as the first batch of Chinese historical and cultural villages; in 2011, it was rated as a national 5A-level tourist attraction. The Michelin Travel Guide also praised the exquisite houses with unique architectural styles and rated Xidi as the highest highly recommended (Highly recommended) level

In this video we take you through a few old growth puerh tea forests in Hekai. Hekai is sandwiched between Lao Ban Zhang and Lao Man'e. It's very close to Menghai in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China. Because of the proximity to such famous Bulang mountains Hekai gets overlooked, but has great tea of their own. They also have LOTS of pigs!
