Quezon is a province of the Philippines in the Calabarzon region of Luzon island. The province was named after Manuel L. Quezon, the second President of the Philippines, and its capital is Lucena City.
As of now, tourism is still a minor but growing part of the province's economy. Several attractions draw tourists from here and abroad including festivals, beaches, old structures and other sights. The two most prominent and famous festivals are Pahiyas Festival of Lucban and the Niyugyugan Festival.

Gumaca by Train. Exploring the Heritage Attractions of Gumaca. Byahen Quezon by PNR Train Part 2

In our previous vlog, we tried the night train from Calamba to Lucena.
In this vlog, our journey continues after we arrived at Lucena Station at midnight. From there, we negotiated with a tricycle driver to take us to Lucena Grand Central Terminal where we waited for the bus to Gumaca, Quezon.
Gumaca is one of the most beautiful heritage towns in Quezon. It was founded in 1582 by the Franciscan missionaries. Gumaca still retains its old world charm with its beautiful centuries old cathedral, imposing Spanish era fortress, handsome old train station and dozens of attractive ancestral houses.
Join us as we travel back in time in this awesome Gumaca heritage tour!

Pinoy Joyride - Gumaca bypass road joyride

While going to the Bicol region, saw a sign that says for light vehicles. Tried this Gumaca Bypass Road which is approximately around 12km of hilly terrain. From Villa Arcaya to Panikihan in Gumaca it bypass the poblacion or town center of Gumaca. I am not sure if it is safe during night time to pass here.

The area is ahon galore!

Luzon to Mindanao Part 3: Quezon - Lucena to Gumaca

Day 1 covers around an Est. 486Km from Cavite till Legaspi City, Albay. This was broken down to 7 video segments so as the uploading time will not be that long. Adopted a plan to restrict the drive up to a maximum of 8 hours per day only but since this is the first day, the excitement & preparation is such that the long drive can be sustained.

This 3rd segment of Day 1 starts Jollibee, Lucena till Gumaca proper covering an Est. 63Km within 90 minutes of driving. This is due to the expected tightening of traffic at the town centers. By-pass roads in Pagbilao & Gumaca are still under construction but will be of big help to motorists once operational.

Bitukang Manok in Atimonan has some areas under repair & some need repair but still a nice drive. Stopped by Quezon National Park Pit Stop for some pictures.

The following locations were passed:
• Lucena is also known as the Cocopalm City of the South. Nestled midst a wide expanse of coconut lands, Lucena has coconut oil mills which produce oil-based household products like cooking oil, soap, lard, margarine, and oil based medicines. Source: WIKI

• Pagbilao is a 1st class municipality in the province of Quezon with 27 barangays. The Pagbilao Coal Power Plant, one of the Philippine's largest power plant stations, is found on Isla Grande in Pagbilao. Source: WIKI

• Atimonan is a 1st class municipality in the province of Quezon with 42 barangays. Zigzag Park is located at the Bitukang Manok. Source: WIKI

• Plaridel is a 5th class municipality in the province of Quezon with 9 barangays is the smallest municipality in the province. A visitor this town must taste and savor its local version of Suman. Source: WIKI
• Gumaca is widely known as a heritage town due to the many ancestral houses and old structures that abound in the area, including a fortress from t e Spanish era. Source: WIKI
