Places to see in ( Riva Del Garda - Italy ) Inviolata Church
Inviolata Church is the most famous monument in Riva. It was built in 1603 and it was consecrated in 1636 commissioned by Gaudenzio Madruzzo and his wife Alfonsina Gonzaga as a place of pilgrimage, keeping a miraculous shrine. The church is in an elegant Baroque style. On the outside it is square shaped , on the inside octagonal with five altars, three gates, vaults with frescos and stuccoes, confessionals in carved wood and marble pavements.
The painting behind the high altar represents the image of the Miraculous Madonna; In the choir we find frescos and elegant carved choir stalls with Biblical scenes. The altar pieces are painted by Palma il Giovane and represent S.Carlo Borromeo and S.Gerolamo. The oil paintings on the wall are painted by Pietro Ricchi, called the Lucchese, those on the cone-shaped vault are attributed to Teofilo Polacco.
The white, black and gilded stuccoes are Davide Reti’s work (1609) whose signature you can find entering the main entrance door, on the right. It was incorporated to the Gerolimini Convent (until 1807), then to the Friars Minor Conventual (1816-1848) and then again (from 1877) to the Istituto del Sacro Cuore di Gesù. Today it is municipal property.

Questa stazione si trova nel quadrante est di Roma ( vicino alla stazione Tiburtina e Termini )
La stazione e una delle piu vecchie di Roma, e del periodo Fascista, purtroppo e in uno stato di totale abbandono soprattutto da parte di RFI ( che neanche si cura degli annunci che fa in questa stazione )
La stazione e sia sulla linea lenta Roma - Pescara ( treni regionali ) sia sull' Av Roma - Napoli ( treni alta velocità )
Purtroppo causa Covid sia Trenitalia sia NTV ( Italo ) hanno deciso di diminuire di oltre il 90 % ( in confronto allo scorso anno ) il numero delle corse tra Roma e Napoli ... il risutlato e un triste pomeriggio che ho passato vedendo quei pochi treni che passavano ( e sentendo gli annunci nosense di RFI ???? )

Il borgo è racchiuso all'interno dell'antica cinta muraria pressochè integralmente conservata. Le mura si elevano fino a superare i sette metri di altezza e sono sormontate da merli guelfi. Lungo il perimetro si ergono dieci imponenti torri di forme differenti, sei agli angoli del borgo e quattro in corrispondenza dei punti cardinali; le due poste agli estremi di Via Garibaldi hanno funzione di porta cittadina. Un'unica via attraversa in senso orizzontale il paese e su di essa si aprono ortgonalmente dodici vicoli, creando isolati rettangolari. In posizione centrale sorge l'antico pozzo medioevale: costruito successivamente alla fondazione del borgo, è rimasto in uso fino agli anni Trenta, fornendo acqua potabile a tutti gli abitanti di Villanova.
