Last Weekend we trekked gudibande fort and visited unexplored nearby lakes Bhairasagara lake and Vatadahosahalli lake. These are must visit places near Bangalore which 100kms from Bangalore, a good option for One day trip. On the way to Gudibande Fort we visited Bhairasagara lake. We have given full details on how to reach Gudibande Fort and covered different terrains while trekking the Gudibande Fort. We spent about half a day in Gudibande Fort. Then we visited Vatadahosahalli lake which is just 10mins drive from Gudibande Fort. These are offbeat trek and lakes near Bangalore within 100kms which are unexplored. Carry some packed food and it will be a great spot for a picnic near Bangalore.

Gudibande is a city in Chikkaballapur District in the Indian State of Karnataka.
Gudibande Fort was built by a yogi and a local chieftain called Byre Gowda some 400 odd years ago in the 17th century. It can be said as a concise replica of the Madhugiri fort. The fort has seven levels with interconnecting escape routes which would help soldiers to flee in case of emergency. On the top of the fort is a Shiva temple. One can also have a good view of the Byrasagara reservoir.

Hello Guys! I hope all of you are doing great. Today I'm sharing another travel vlog weekend drive from Bangalore to Gudibande Fort | Must visit place within 100 kms from Bangalore.
Gudibande is a city in Chikkaballapur District in the Indian State of Karnataka.
Gudibande Fort was built by a yogi and a local chieftain called Byre Gowda some 400 odd years ago in the 17th century.[citation needed] It was believed that he belonged to the Tuluva dynasty of the Vijayanagar empire. It can be said as a concise replica of the Madhugiri fort. The fort has seven levels with interconnecting escape routes which would help soldiers to flee in case of emergency. On the top of the fort is a Shiva temple known as Sir Rameshwara Temple, established by Sage Vishwamitra and Lord Rama which is believed to be one of the 108 Jyotirlingas . The strong pillar with a square base has well sculpted images. One can also have a good view of the Byrasagara reservoir. The fort’s main feature, is the rain water harvesting. It is said that there were around 19 rock ponds at different levels of the fort. However, the water channel system devised by Byre Gowda was said to be unique. Linking nineteen water bodies and tanks called dhones they could in all hold nearly 3 lakhs litres of rain water.

My thoughts on this place :
I went to this place ( Gudibande Fort near chikkaballapur ) twice. Both the times it was a weekend trip from Bangalore / Bengaluru. It will take you about 2-2.5 hours to drive from Bangalore city ( India ). The place looked quite isolated. Considering the fact it was a weekend, there weren't many people.
They took a parking fee of 50 Rupees for cars in Gudibande fort. We do see a lot of small forts near bangalore in karnataka and this is one of them.
It is definitely worth visiting if you love mild adventures around Bangalore.
It can be considered as a good place for the following :

About 100 km away from Bangalore, this fort atop a hillock is a decent family getaway. The rock carved sculptures and the fort is worth visiting.

Short Description : Gudibande Fort was built by a yogi and a local chieftain called Byre Gowda some 400 odd years ago in the 17th century.[citation needed] It was believed that he belonged to the Tuluva dynasty of the Vijayanagar empire. It can be said as a concise replica of the Madhugiri fort. The fort has seven levels with interconnecting escape routes which would help soldiers to flee in case of emergency. On the top of the fort is a Shiva temple known as Sir Rameshwara Temple, established by Sage Vishwamitra and Lord Rama which is believed to be one of the 108 Jyotirlingas .

GUDIBANDE fort Trek - Bhairasagara Lake - Easy trek near Bangalore
This Weekend we trekked gudibande fort and visited unexplored nearby lakes Bhairasagara lake on the way. These are must-visit places near Bangalore which is 100kms from Bangalore, a good option for One day trip. On the way to Gudibande Fort, we visited Bhairasagara lake. It would be good to carry lots of water and food as there are no such options near the fort. Please do not litter and carry back your trash to home.

There are clear sign boards after Chikkaballapur towards both left and right side of the road. The roads to the place throughout are in good condition and can be accessed with minor difficulty. It is a less known place for trekkies out there and slowly becoming popular over the past few years. The hill can be ascended in less than one hour. All climbers are advised to carry their food and replenishments as none is available on top.

Gudibande Fort | Trekking Guide | Must Visit Places Near Bangalore | One day Trip from Bangalore
Gudibande fort is a intelligently designed and strategically placed fort at Gudibande town in Chikkaballapur district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is located around 92 km from Bangalore and about 33 km from Chikkaballapur town. Gudibande fort is said to be built by a local chieftain named Byre Gowda in the 17th century. It is said that he belonged to the Tuluva dynasty of the Vijayanagar empire. Gudibande fort is considered a small replica of Madhuguri fort. The fort has seven levels with interconnecting escape routes which would help soldiers to flee in case of emergency. On the top of the fort is a Shiva temple known as Rameshwara Temple. The fort's main feature, is the rain water harvesting. It is said that there were around 19 rock ponds at different levels of the fort.

Entry fees: No entry fees
The would put the intensity of trekking to the top of Gudibande fort from easy to medium. The trek is adventurous with good views around. Once at the top, you awesome bird's eye view of the Guidebande town, Byrasagara reservoir and around. We had nice sleep at the edge of the monolithic rock with fresh and cool breeze was caressing. This can be a half day activity and better to climb early morning or late afternoon would be a good idea. The way we trekked was little overcast and we started about mid afternoon. Gudibande fort is a good destination to be in the list of one day trip from Bangalore or must visit nearby places to Bangalore.
