Grottammare has very ancient origins. There are anthropic traces dating back to the Neolithic. A Piceno necropolis dating back to the 7th-5th century BC was discovered on its territory.
Possession in the Middle Ages of the Farfa Abbey, it was given to Fermo in 1214 by Aldobrandino I d'Este. Between the 13th and 16th centuries it was long disputed between Fermo and Ascoli.

They include the largest lake in Italy, Lake Garda, beautiful medieval Verona, the most spectacular mountain pass Stelvio, Milan that celebrates Leonardo Da Vinci’s inventions and guards his most famous fresco and famous Tuscany region. A gem among beautiful Tuscan towns is Lucca, birthplace of world famous opera composer Puccini. Uniquely, Italy completely surrounds two independent states and one of them is San Marino. Further south is one of the oldest, still inhabited cities in the world, Matera. Italy also has amazing islands and Sardinia is famous for some of the best beaches in Europe. But the biggest Mediterranean Island Sicily is also famous for its amazing Greek, Roman and Norman heritage. On the foothills of the Alps is another beautiful lake with some of the most romantic and picturesque sceneries in the world, Lake Como. Rolling Tuscan hills are home to a spectacular medieval skyline of San Gimignano. Siena is another Tuscan town, a true embodiment of a medieval city and Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. GROTTAMMARE ⛱ La perla dell'Adriatico
Finalmente siamo giunti in questa destinazione piena di aspettativa da parte nostra. E come per magia tutto è stato confermato.
Questo piccolo borgo diviso fra mare e monte ci ha affascinati, con le sue stradine strette e i suoi monumenti caratteristici.
Grottammare è una meta da scoprire, a maggior ragione perché è uno dei borghi più belli d'Italia.
In effetti Grottammare è bellissima, assolutamente da vedere
Passeggia con me a Grottammare giustamente definito uno dei borghi più belli d’Italia poiché il territorio è ricco di edifici storici che meritano di essere visitati.
Nell’affascinante cornice del territorio marchigiano si trovano antiche ville, palazzi e numerosi edifici religiosi, tra molti vi segnaliamo la chiesa di Sant’Agostino e la chiesa di Santa Lucia, costruita sul luogo di nascita del papa Sisto V nato proprio a Grottammare nel XVI secolo.
