Düsseldorf is a city in western Germany, with a population of over 500,000 located on the river Rhine. It is one of the nation's media, tourism, and business hotspots, and has been listed as one of the most livable cities in the world. THE BEST DAY TRIPS FROM DUSSELDORF, GERMANY
I’ve just come back from travelling around Germany for 10 days and one of my favourite spots was Dusseldorf.
I have to admit I’m not the best at geography sometimes, but when I arrived in the city I quickly discovered there were some great day trips from Dusseldorf, all just a short train ride away.
I’d heard of Cologne, Dortmund and Essen but I never realised they were so close together. That meant as soon as I arrived in Düsseldorf I wanted to explore all North Rhine-Westphalia had to offer. (That’s the name of the region where you’ll find all of these places by the way!)
Throw in some crazy industrial landscapes like Zeche Zollverein and Duisburg Landschaftspark (just wait until you see the photos) and you’ve got the making of a fantastic few days in and around Dusseldorf.

Krefeld, also spelled Crefeld until 1929, is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located northwest of Düsseldorf, its center lying just a few kilometers to the west of the river Rhine; the borough of Uerdingen is situated directly on the Rhine. Krefeld is accessed by the autobahns A57 and the A44.
Krefeld's residents speak Hochdeutsch or standard German, but the native dialect is a Low German variety, sometimes locally called Krefelder Plattdeutsch, Krieewelsch Platt, Plattdeutsch, or sometimes simply Platt. The Uerdingen line isogloss, separating general dialectical areas in Germany and neighboring Germanic-speaking countries, runs through and is named after Krefeld's Uerdingen district, originally an independent municipality.

The Don'ts of Visiting Germany
1. Don't Assume German Are The Cold Stereotypes You Have Heard of Your Whole Life.
2. Don't Jaywalk, so follow the rules in Germany.
3. Don't Forget the Pfand or deposit that you may put down for beer mugs, bottles, cans and other things. You can get that money back.
4. Don't forget to bring flowers or a small gift when visiting a German's home. Also, don't wear your shoes inside their homes.
5. Don't be disrespectful at the Nazi concentration camps and memorials around the country.
6. Don't Wait: when at restaurants or bars order as soon as you can as waiters do not come through to check on tables as often as they do in other countries.
7. Don't Experiment on Driving on the Autobahn. It can be very dangerous for first time drivers.
8. Don't Expect to Shop on Sundays in Germany.
9. Don't forget to bring cash. Germans love to pay in cash and some places will only accept cash. So be ready.
10. Don't expect to see just half timbered houses in Germany. It is a thriving modern country with tons of amazing culture, architecture and technology.

In this travel vlog we take the train to Düsseldorf, Germany and spend a weekend there. The trip was a surprise birthday gift for my boyfriend. During our visit we eat some German and Japanese food, visit little Tokyo, enjoy walks by the promenade and visit the Rhin tower.

Deutschland Niederrheinisches Freilichtmuseum Grefrath
Das Freilichtmuseum Niederrhein in Grefrath zeigt das bäuerliche Leben der Vergangenheit. Unter anderen kann man hier historische Bauwerke wie die Dorenburg oder eine alte Schmiede, eine historische Backstube sowie Fachwerkhäuser aus längst vergangener Zeit sehen.
NiederRheinroute Rundkurs E | Teil 2 | Nettetal, Grefrath, Kempen
Die Niederrheinroute schlängelt sich auf einer gesamten Länge von 1.573 km zwischen Kleve, Dormagen, dem Selfkant und Hamminkeln. Im Radtourenbuch von Bikeline sind 7 Rundkursvarianten mit den Buschstaben A bis G beschrieben. Wir fahren den heimatnahen Rundkurs E zwischen Geldern und Mönchengladbach mit einer angegebenen Distanz von 310 Kilometern.
In diesem Video zeigen wir den Abschnitt von Nettetal über Grefrath und Kempen bis nach Aldekerk. Wir fahren durch einen Wald mit Mammutbäumen und durch die Seenstadt Nettetal. Wir überwinden die Hinsbecker Schweiz und erreichen in der historischen Stadt Kempen ehemaliges kurkölnisches Gebiet.
