Gressoney and the beautiful Savoia Castle - (Italy)
Hello, my friends! If you want to like, comment, share or subscribe I'll be very happy!
With this video I take you to visit another wonderful location in the Valle d'Aosta Region, in my beautiful Italy.
This time we will go to Gressoney-Saint-Jean (1,385 meters), located in the plain of the Valle del Lys, a town that enjoys a spectacular position at the foot of the imposing Monte Rosa massif with a spectacular view of the Lyskamm glacier.
Precisely for this reason, Gressoney has always been considered a renowned tourist destination in every season.
The history and traditions of Gressoney are closely linked to the Walser community of Germanic origin, which arrived in these places about eight centuries ago, which left evident traces both in the urban architecture and in the typical stone and wood houses.
Even the traditional costume, also worn by Queen Margherita, recalls this ancient tradition.
It's so nice to walk along the alleys of Gressoney admiring the splendid, ever-changing views that appear before your eyes in all their spectacular beauty.
As it is also nice to browse in the typical handicraft shops or local delicacies where you can always find something to take home.
Two squares in Gressoney. The lower one, where there is the statue dedicated to King Umberto I of Savoy, surrounded by buildings dating back to 1600-700 and the upper one, which houses the Church of San Giovanni Battista, where the buildings date back to the late '800.
But a visit to Gressoney cannot be separated from a visit to the Savoia Castle, which stands at the foot of the Ranzola hill and dominates the entire valley.
The Castle, actually an eclectic style villa, was born at the behest of Queen Margherita of Savoy, wife of the King of Italy Umberto I ° and was completed in 1904.
The Queen loved Gressoney very much and she often stayed there even before having the manor built, whose work she personally followed, choosing materials and furnishings.
The building was built on three floors with five neo-Gothic towers which give it that special fairytale aspect that immediately strikes visitors.
Extensive use has been made of local gray stone which gives it an austere appearance counterbalanced by the colorful interiors which are a perfect blend of styles and make it harmonious and rather modern for the time.
On the ground floor there is the large dining room, the game room with a billiard table and numerous sitting rooms where the ladies sat reading in front of the windows and a splendid semicircular veranda with a spectacular view that leads to the large living room. honor where to dominate is a marvelous staircase in oak wood with double flights carved and curved by hand, decorated with griffins and eagles.
On the main floor, there are the royal and guest apartments, among which the Queen's room stands out, which has remained almost completely intact.
The coffered ceilings, the boiseries and the furnishings present everywhere are clearly of medieval inspiration, while the decorations in Art Nouveau style.
Many tributes to the Queen made through the initials of her name, or the daisy flower present everywhere, together with the heraldic coat of arms of the House of Savoy and various mottos such as the auspicious Hic manebimus optimus (Here we will be fine).
On the other hand, the absence of a kitchen inside stands out, placed instead in an annex connected to the dining room by a small underground rail, the so-called decauville.
In 1990, a beautiful Botanical Garden was designed right at the foot of the Castle where there are beautiful specimens of flowers and plants of the Valle d'Aosta alpine flora.
In the immediate vicinity, there are three independent houses, one of which is dedicated to the extraordinary poet Giosuè Carducci, a personal friend of the Queen.
I like to finish this description with a sentence that Margherita, a great lover of the mountains and expert high altitude hiker, pronounced on August 18, 1893, when she personally inaugurated what is still the highest refuge in Europe today, Capanna Regina Margherita at 4,553 meters. of altitude: In front of so much greatness of mountains and this solemn expanse of glaciers, miserable doubt is silent and faith rises strong and lively to God.

Matera Italy is one of the most beautiful towns to visit in Italy 2023. Matera, is an amazing destination in italy that offer a glimpse into the past. Nestled in the southern region of Basilicata, this ancient city is known for its cave dwellings, known as sassi, which date back to the Paleolithic era. These homes, carved into the natural rock, have been continuously inhabited for thousands of years and are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In addition to the sassi, Matera is home to many other historical and cultural attractions. You can explore the Cathedral of Matera, built in the 13th century, or take a stroll through the city's winding streets to discover traditional crafts and local markets. So plenty to do in this italian town.

“Bianco in cima ad un alto colle desolato, come una piccola Gerusalemme immaginaria nella solitudine di un deserto”. Così Carlo Levi nel suo celebre capolavoro “Cristo si è fermato ad Eboli” descrive Grassano dedicando le pagine più belle al paese che per primo lo ha accolto durante la sua forzata permanenza in Basilicata, perché antifascista. Era il 3 agosto del 1935. Strade, piazze, palazzi e paesaggi sono stati per Levi fonte di ispirazione letteraria e di importanti opere pittoriche. Oggi le riviviamo insieme grazie a queste bellissime immagini che abbiamo girato per voi.

Calabre, Italie. Caraïbes de l'Europe - c'est ainsi que les touristes appellent la Calabre. La région est située à l'extrême sud de la péninsule des Apennins et est baignée par les eaux des mers Ionienne et Tyrrhénienne. Toute la côte de la Calabre est une zone de plage continue et il y a donc toujours beaucoup de vacanciers ici. Des paysages fascinants et des collines avec des vignobles, des sommets montagneux et une nature magnifique. Partout, parmi les collines, il y a de petites villes accueillantes avec des temples anciens et des monuments historiques. Tout ce charme peut être vu sur le clip vidéo sur youtube, qui a été filmé à partir d'un drone en 4k, situé à vol d'oiseau. Regardez un aperçu vidéo de toute la région de la Calabre, et vous aurez certainement envie de visiter cette perle de l'Italie.
Capital
La capitale de la Calabre, Catanzaro, est située dans la partie sud de la région, juste sur la côte de la mer Ionienne. Catanzaro est considéré comme l'un des plus grands centres touristiques avec d'excellentes infrastructures et des plages équipées. Et pourtant, il existe de nombreux musées, cathédrales, palais et autres attractions.
Comment aller là
La Calabre est accessible par différents moyens de transport. La région possède des aéroports qui reçoivent des avions de nombreux pays européens. De plus, des trains desservent différentes villes le long des lignes de chemin de fer et le long de la côte dans toute la région. La Calabre étant baignée par les eaux de deux mers, vous pouvez vous y rendre en ferry. Les cinq provinces de la région sont reliées par un service de bus (il est possible d'acheter un seul billet). Mais, il y a des provinces qui ne sont accessibles qu'en voiture. De nombreux touristes le louent directement à la gare.
Climat en Calabre
La Calabre est une région chaude avec une pluviométrie annuelle allant jusqu'à 800 mm. Le climat dans les montagnes est très similaire à celui des Alpes. Le climat près de la côte de la mer est chaud en été, modéré en hiver avec peu de précipitations. La température en été atteint 35*C, et en hiver - jusqu'à -10*C.
Grandes villes
Dans la région de la côte tyrrhénienne, sur les pentes des montagnes, la ville de Tropea s'est confortablement nichée. Il est enterré dans des allées fleuries d'arbres fruitiers, dans une brume de brouillard et de mer. Tropea est une vieille ville. Selon les archéologues, la ville existait au IVe siècle av. Il peut être atteint par une route en voiture ou à pied, ou par des sentiers difficiles d'accès. Sur le territoire de la ville, vous pourrez admirer le monastère franciscain, la cathédrale Duomo, le palais de Vescoville, à côté du rocher. Il y a une petite plage sur la colline. Non loin de Reggio di Calabria se trouve la ville de Scylla (Schilla). Il peut être conditionnellement divisé en trois zones - la vieille ville, le village de pêcheurs et la plage avec des magasins, des cafés et d'autres infrastructures. La vieille ville a été construite sur les rochers et la cathédrale de l'Immaculée, le château de Ruffo mérite l'attention. A proximité se trouve le village de Bivongi avec un chef-d'œuvre de l'architecture de l'époque byzantine - le monastère de San Giovanni Teristis.
Que regarder

Le continent et la forteresse sont reliés par un barrage. Selon le philosophe Pline, une tour a été construite par Hannibal. Les archéologues affirment que le château a été construit au 4ème siècle avant JC pour protéger Crotone lors des batailles avec Pyrrhus.
Juste au-dessus du cap Scylla s'élève l'ancienne forteresse de Rkffo. A une certaine époque, il abrita même un monastère. Ensuite, la tour de la forteresse servait de phare. Aujourd'hui, dans la forteresse, il y a un musée, où se trouve un véritable échantillon d'un bateau à partir duquel l'espadon a été pêché.
