Dans ce vlog découvre avec moi Salzbourg en Autriche
★ Discover with me Salzburg in Austria
Salzbourg est la 4ème ville la plus peuplée d’Autriche (153 000 habitants)
Le quartier historique (Altstdadt) est très agréable avec ces petites rues bordées de commerces et de façades colorées.
La rue principale la plus célèbre est piétonne s’appelle Getreidegasse
La ville est traversée par la rivière Salzach et enjambée par ces nombreux ponts dont le pont piéton Mozartsteg que je te conseille.
La ville est dominée par la forteresse Hohensalzburg du haut de ses 100 mètres d’altitude.
La Boule d’or dans le centre historique est une œuvre de Stephan Balkenho et s’appelle Sphaera (2007)
Il y a un tas de promenades à faire sur les hauteurs avec de superbes vues sur toute la ville.
Notamment du côté du couvent des Capucins Kapuziner Kirche und Kloster
Et une seconde très charmante avec 2 gigantesques et superbes arbres autour de l'abbaye de Nonnberg (Stift Nonnberg), le Mont des Nonnes (c’est une abbaye de religieuses Bénédictines)
Je te conseille également de visiter le cimetière (ressemblant plus à un jardin) de l’église Erzabtei St Peter, Romanischer Saal
De l’autre côté, en empruntant le pont Staats brücke tu arriveras dans un charmant quartier avec sa rue principale et commerçante Linzer Gasse
D’ailleurs je te recommande de visiter le cimetière (qui ressemble plus à un cloître avec un jardin en son centre) de l’église St Sbastianskirche et sa chapelle au milieu du jardin St Gabriel (fermé lors de mon passage)
Beaucoup de personnalités y sont enterrées dont une partis de la famille de Mozart
Si tu as une une matinée de libre et si la nature te manque, je te propose de prendre le bus pour Grödig (le 5 ou le 25)
Ensuite rejoint le canal (Almkanal)
Ce canal part d’ici et rejoint Salzbourg le long d’une belle balade piétonne en pleine nature avec les montagnes en toile de fond, c’est magnifique!
Je te propose de le faire dans ce sens là car sur le retour tu seras guidé par la forteresse que l’on voit en hauteur (seulement à partir du lac Léopoldskroner Weiher)

Berchtesgaden and The Eagles Nest Germany // World War 2 Road Trip
We continue our tour of Europe WW2 sites, visiting the southern Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden and the Eagles Nest, or Kehlsteinhaus.
The Eagles nest of was one of the last places liberated by the allies in World War Two, marking the end of World War 2 in Europe.
The HBO Series Band of Brothers made an episode about this part of the war, and as Kelly's dad is a huge BOB fan and WW2 history buff, We had to go and check it out.

Trip to the Untersberg | Salzburg, Austria
We have recorded this footage during summer 2021 while traveling around Salzburg region in Austria.
The bottom station in Grödig/St. Leonhard, about 10 km south of Salzburg, can easily be reached by bus (nos. 25 and 28) and trolley bus line 5. The funicular was built between 1958 and 1961 and has been regularly modernised. The cable car runs at 30-minute intervals; it takes 8.5 minutes to cover more than 1,300m difference in altitude. An easy path leads from the top station to the Gebirgsjäger [mountain infantry] monument and the Salzburg Hochthron peak (1,852 m). Besides the restaurant in the top station, the Hochalm and the Zeppezauer Haus restaurants offer the wayfarer traditional local cuisine.

I began my day bright and early in the morning. I took a 6:10 am train from Innsbruck to Salzburg. During my time in Innsbruck, I discovered that the City Card offered numerous free museums and attractions, so I decided to get the Salzburg City Card as well.
Here is a list of the attractions I visited during my one day in Salzburg:
• Makartsteg Bridge: A beautiful pedestrian bridge over the Salzach River, known for its love locks and scenic views.
• Getreidegasse: A charming shopping street in the heart of Salzburg, famous for its historic buildings and unique shops.
• Mozarts Geburtshaus: The birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, now a museum showcasing the life of the famous composer.
• Residenzplatz: A central square surrounded by historic buildings, offering a great place to relax and enjoy the architecture.
• DomQuartier: A cultural and historical complex encompassing the Salzburg Cathedral, Residenz Palace, and various museums.
• Domplatz: The square in front of Salzburg Cathedral, a central gathering place with a lively atmosphere.
• Goldene Kugel: A historic restaurant known for traditional Austrian cuisine, located in the heart of the city.
